@lifelongfrugaleer I'm in Darlington too so if you spot the pumpkin jars could you drop me a tag and I'll call to reserve one 🙂 haven't seen the Christmas Eve box in there yet either but I'll give you a shout if I do

TheCrow · 14/09/2021 09:14

@lifelongfrugaleer the Christmas Eve boxes include a mug, pair of warm socks and what looked like some hot choc and marshmallows etc and I think a Santa cookie? For £1.99

MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 14/09/2021 09:29

Those that have managed to get the £6 balance bikes, have they been from larger Asda's? I've just been in a smaller one and they were still £25. Just debating if it's worth driving to the superstore!

Thisisbatshit · 14/09/2021 09:40

That medicine book I posted yesterday is also £4 at the works if that suits better. I see there is a whole series of them. A psychology one is also reduced to £6 at the works. They look good.

PinkDaydreams · 14/09/2021 09:42

These base plates 87p each in Asda thought they'd be well received on this thread to go with the Lego box at Asda a few pp have purchased.

RainbowPhilosophy · 14/09/2021 09:50

@MyPatronusIsAPenguin our Asda is just a normal size one, not one of the huge ones. I don't know why some have them reduced and others don't!

For those who have bought the Joe and Steph's sauce, check the expiry date on the bottom! Just received my two jars but it needs eating within the next four weeks! Not happy as I'd planned on gifting them for Xmas

Also check what you receive as I've received one sticky toffee and one salted caramel

I know my local Asda had a toy sell off to make way for an entertainer franchise instore? Wether this is why some have them toys on sale and others don't maybe I'm not sure 🤔

Sainsburys in store, big discounts on Joules and Orla Kierly stationery as well as lots of others from back to school range. Including Batman lunch bags. Nice for the stockings. Also had these stamp kits ideal for for stocking. Not reduced but only £3.

Sorry to be negative but I've had those exact stamps from Sainsbury's and they were awful! Dried up when I opened them so took them back and swapped, same again so swapped and the final pack was also dry. Could have been a faulty batch though.

@Maranello

Some good offers at Just Geek www.justgeek.com/ - code JUST20 for 20% off orders under £50 and JUST25 for 25% orders over £25. They have lots of Harry Potter, Avengers, anime and gaming stuff, plus Lego etc.

I popped a referral on the bargain thread for £5 off, fingers crossed they would stack!

Thanks for this unfortunately the bits I need aren't under the discount but still great to get! Could you link or pm me to your referral code? Can't seem to find the thread.. Thanks!
Maranello · 14/09/2021 10:30

Hi @spudsuliked, I've bumped the bargain referral thread with the Just Geek code but here's the link too:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4082149-Bargain-referral-thread-3

Hope you find a bargain!

spudsuliked · 14/09/2021 10:38

@Maranello thanks so much for that! Not sure how I didn't know that existed. Hopefully a fiver coming your way.

sorryiasked · 14/09/2021 10:41

@Onebabyandamadcat have a look at bargainmax they've got lots of barbie stuff. The coffee shop looks good for your budget.

Wolfcub · 14/09/2021 10:49

My turtle doves lucky dip arrives today. I'm very pleased and loved the little smiley face on my note asking not to have particular colours

Thisisbatshit · 14/09/2021 10:52

Snowball jelli stuff £1.99 on amazon. Probably the type of thing you can get for 99p from a pound shop but a nice messy toy activity for advent and I'm hardly in shops now.

snowball

clpsmum · 14/09/2021 11:03

@Chocolateemergency I've done it before and it's a great bargain but it's an absolute nightmare to cancel. The hun one is much easier to cancel

Thank you. I would go for that but I don’t do the empty Christmas Eve boxes to fill iykwim

CasparBloomberg · 14/09/2021 11:36

@pinkDayDreams that's a shame, they seemed a bargain.
I grabbed a new Joules magnetic notebook for the fridge and some project work books for DS at college.

Equimum · 14/09/2021 11:49

Ooh, I have found my people. Now the kids are back at school and DSs birthday is over, I can properly start thinking about Christmas.
I'm a bit low on ideas this year, but will be watching out for offers on Gravitrax, in-line skates and Harry Potter Lego.

Fuckingfuckssake · 14/09/2021 11:56

My dresses from Nobody's Child have arrived and they are beautiful, I'm going back for more, sorry to be a pain but can anyone remember what the code was to get 15% off? NOBODYSHERE works for 10% off but I'm sure we can do better than that.

NEWGIRL rings a bell
PinkDaydreams · 14/09/2021 12:03

I've had a moan to Amazon about the Joe and Steph's sauce and they've agreed to refund and let me keep the jars. Unfortunately it means I can't give them for Xmas as the expiry is early October this year, but it does mean that I can devour them to myself!
So to anyone else that has short dated jars, contact Amazon.
