@NoWordForFluffy

I got the Vulcan thing for DH the other year. If anybody wants to see the certificate you get, PM me your email address and I'll send the photo.

How long did it take to get the certificate etc, so that it can be given as a gift?

@Sallylovesdaisy

I added that on to the last thread as I did similar for my uncle who was a lifetime supporter of the RNLI.

I will put it here again:

@Fishingforhappiness when dd was 6 months, her stocking had;
Sippy cup
Clothes
A plush elephant that she gurgled at in the shop, which ds(then 4) ran home and told the elf she really really wanted
Bath toys
A rattle that sounded like sleigh bells
Books
And the biggest hit, a light up Christmas spinner, £1 from the card factory

Not a bargain but if anyone is still planning to buy a Nintendo switch for anyone - the new model is available for preorder direct from the Nintendo store with assorted bundles (I had an alert set as the other stores taking preorders had all sold out when I looked to order one last month)

@gratedbeetroot, I ordered on 17 Sept and had that certificate a few weeks later. In plenty of time for Christmas.

@NoWordForFluffy thank you. I’m thinking of doing it for a birthday that’s coming up but I guess if it comes afterwards then I can give it for Christmas anyway.

When the order was accepted on 18 Sept, it said to allow 14 days. It wasn't any later than that, as I then had it framed with a photo of the Vulcan in flight.

Great, thank you. And great idea re framing it with a photo!

Some summer stuff reduced in my local tesco. I got a wee football goal for £3 (reduced from £12).

@WeAreTheWeirdosMister

Thanks for the code for Snack Surprise, I've just signed up for the premium box for £17.49. I'll probably save the boxes for Christmas for my 12-year-old who loves trying food from other countries.

Xmas Grin DH will be most pleased to hear Colon, FFS Colin! has made the thread title.

Had a scout in B&M and the sacks and stockings that went out on Saturday have been ransacked. There's about 3 of each left. Apparently delivery expected Thurs/Fri. I'm not sure how reflective this is nationwide, I just noticed saw a few posts where people have already started asking for intials that they haven't been able to get hold of.

Thanks for new thread

I went to B&M on a sack hunt this morning - was 50% successful but still need a G!

Loads of A, L and K!

They had lots of the stockings in lots of different letters but not many of the sacks! Will keep checking but the car park where it is charged £1.80 so can't go too much!!

Happy to post any difficult to find letters to people in need! If someone finds a G I'd be very grateful!

H&B calendar bought on the app with 15% off for me Grin

Works out at £1.55 per gift so not bad at all. I also get the lottery scratchcard advent calendar and the cheese one Blush

The kids just get the cheapo ones so I think it's a fair balance!

This is me joining! Looks like I'm a little late at thread number 6. I'll post any deals I see, as I'm trying to get into gear.

I'm looking out for playmobil zoo sets for my 5 year old. He's animal obsessed! So if anyone sees any good reductions...!

Report
RainbowPhilosophy · 13/09/2021 13:49

@TheBestWhootersInWhoville I'd say 2-4 years. My son had one from his second birthday if I remember correctly. However these offers don't seem to be in all Asdas as a couple of friends in different counties have tried their locals but things are still full price there.

Thank you so much for posting this. Some amazing prices in the sale. I'll measure the mutt later and that'll be her Xmas sorted 😁

@Wolfcub do you mind me asking where you have seen the l'occitaine advent calendar reduced and at what price? Can't find it on the website.

Thanks to the PP on the thread 5 before it closed for the Brand Alley/Moulin Roty tip re reduced cuddly toys with a difference. Checked it out and have bought some for DS - was going to keep an eye out for Jellycat reductions but these look great.

Got my H&B boxes this morning. Unfortunately they were the ones with different contents but still decent enough for gifts.
