I was in the range on Thursday and nothing wild or wonderful in it. Got the dc a gingerbread house to colour in and some markers. Normally I come out bogged down with Christmas stuff.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2021 17:46

Made mince pies. But due to DS not shutting the fuck up leaving me be, combined with my fuzzy head from being ill, I over-cooked them and I'm really pissed off with myself. Sigh.

I feel crap, thank you for asking. I've not rested yet. I'm going to though. Thank god.

DD is on a sleepover, so DS won't leave us alone. It's exhausting. Thank god we have 2 kids. Lockdown with just DS would've sent me over the edge! 🤣🤣 School says he barely talks there. We get all of his talking, it seems.

WreckTangled · 02/10/2021 17:59

Ds doesn't really talk at school either fluffy.

I just popped out to greggs and almost didn't make it there or back. The floods are awful, had to change direction twice then came face to face with a police car as I was on the wrong side of the road round a corner avoiding the deep side of a flood Grin hope the Tesco driver gets here ok later.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2021 20:02

He's still bloody talking! 🙉🙉🙉

WreckTangled · 02/10/2021 20:05

My food shopping is late. Just spoke to the driver and he's having a nightmare navigating the floods. Roads closed everywhere. I feel bad for him but also I'm starving.

MeredithMae · 02/10/2021 20:29

Did you pick up your magic bag? Anything good in it? We occasionally get them from M&S garage and so far so good!

Our tests are negative- phew! Hope we stay immune and it's just DS.

WreckTangled · 02/10/2021 21:09

It's was ok. Four sausage rolls, a cheese and onion bake, one doughnut, one gingerbread man and one ginger muffin which was pretty tasty. I've not done the M&S one as the collection time is so late and it's 15 mins away. We've got a really nice independent cafe that does good ones.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2021 21:13

I used to get magic bags from Morrison's and they were great. Until one week it was total shite and I've not bothered again since!

We don't have much choice here for them really. I prefer fruit and veg-type things to snack / sandwich / cake ones, so wouldn't get the Greggs / Costa ones.

Morning.

Just been woken up by DS shouting in his sleep. He's stopped now, but I'm contemplating going into his room to check on him. Just need to summon the energy.

PCR was negative, so I have other germs, as expected. Usual September bug for me!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 07:50

Glad it was negative fluffy but annoying having a horrible cold. Dd now has a horrible cough but it's chesty so I'm still thinking it's just a cold.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 08:31

I feel so ill, Wreck! Sounds like your DD is suffering too.

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 03/10/2021 08:32

Morning.
Wreck your Greggs magic bag sounds amazing to me right now- I went to my friends house last night and drank more than I planned to as we were talking so while I wasn't 'drunk' I have woken up hungry for something carby and/ or sweet 😬

Fluffy I'm glad your test was negative- hopefully you'll be on the mend soon.

I'm led in bed contemplating if it's worth getting a drink or if I should just stay tucked in - the house felt very cold when I stuck my leg out from under the duvet 🥶

WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 08:33

Is it the first cold you've have in the past couple of years? I'm wondering if we're all going to get hit worse after not being unwell for so long due to all the social distancing etc. Make sure rest!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 08:35

Crazy go and make a cup of tea and drink a glass of water whilst the kettle is boiling then take the tea back to bed Grin (or coffee if you prefer, like me Grin). I get like that if I drink too. I've still got the sausage rolls in the fridge, going to heat them up in a bit.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 08:38

I had a mild cold last year, towards the end of the year while the kids were at school. Nothing like this evil beast now!

Crazy, you definitely need all the carbs (plus proper rehydration!).

Ooh. 16.5° in the lounge. I knew it would be cold in here when the dining room (which retains heat better) was below 18°, so I put the heating is on! 🥶

OP posts:
ConstantlyCooking · 03/10/2021 10:10

Hope you are all feeling better- I like hot ginger drinks when I have a cold (with Day/Night Nurse).
I have a scratchy throat and sore ears which I am hoping won't develop into a cold.
Work are going to pay for flu jabs this year so I want to book one ASAP.
We are going out for lunch do I want to swing by a smiths to see if they have a cheap Christmas Chronicles for the read- along thread. Otherwise I might wait till after Christmas to see if I can find one reduced.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 10:15

That's how my cold started, Constantly! Hopefully yours won't be as bad as mine is though.

And yes, go and find Nigel in Smiths. Xmas Grin

It's a bright, freezing autumn day here! Off to a local 'Apples Day' in a bit to support the local park charity (we live inside the park so feel very much obligated!).

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 14:02

It's alternating chucking it down and bright sunshine here. We've rescued the washing as it kept getting almost-dry and then getting soaked again. Utter pain!

I'm knackered after galloping to fetch washing and ironing the kids' school stuff. I finished the cross stitch for my friend's baby, born last Friday, and it's framed and packaged up, ready to drop at the sorting office tomorrow.

DD had about 4 hours' sleep at the sleepover last night, so she's exhausted and grumpy. Early night for her tonight!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 16:01

Still haven't got DD's results backHmm really need them before tomorrow.

We've had a few showers here luckily dh got the washing in just before it started, it's been so windy it was all dry. Making a roast for dinner.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 16:52

I reckon you'll get them in the small hours if you haven't had them before, Wreck. They seem to like emailing then!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 17:17

I hope so. I'm reading about loads of people getting them back in less than 24 hours, I even chose the Surrey site thinking it might be quicker Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/10/2021 17:19

My friend got hers back in about 12 hours. Her daughter was about 17 hours. Suppose it depends on lab capacity.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 03/10/2021 18:28

Got it back, negative. Phew.
