Here we go. Couldn't think of a witty thread title. Soz!

Xmas Shock pussycat sounds like a right nightmare !
Our kettle used to be a trippy wee bugger ( especially if it spewed boiling water ) but we changed it . Toasters are high energy use too .

Have a beer but only a tepic one if you need to keep the freezer/fridge shut .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/09/2021 17:38

tepid

Morning!

Well, we went for a boozy lunch yesterday which, combined with only 6 hours' sleep on Friday night, means that I have been asleep for most of the last 12 hours! The booze knocked me out. 🙈🤣

I saw bits of Strictly, but may have to re-watch. I also got one stitch done on my cross stitch before realising I was too tired to focus! 🤣🤣

Firefly, yes, I tested Lollipop. It was just a big faff, wasn't it?

Puss, I hope everything electrical starts to behave soon. What a pain in the arse!

70, good luck with your trip! Xmas Grin

Morning. Quiet day here thankfully. Ds has football ages away and I think dd and I are going to watch the new Cinderella. Ds had homework too but I'm going to ask dh to do that with him as I always end up doing it.

ConstantlyCooking · 26/09/2021 09:08

Nice to 'see' you again Puss. I hope your electrical situation improves. We had a toaster that kept tripping and now the grill tends to if it is feeling grumpy but luckily it's not to bad.
We are really frustrated re fuel. DH needed to fill up on Tuesday but didn't have time and now there are queues blocking the roads! We are having to spend 6 hours on a round trip to a family event by public transport instead of a 3 hour round trip by car. Grrr!
I am debating about advent calendars- the Macmillan one is the Boots star gift this week. I've had it the last two years but the contents seem v similar so I might give it a miss. Still debating. I want to be able to compare it with M&S! Although Hotel choc does seem tempting now you mention it!
I picked up some of those biscoff dips in Poundland firefly - for DD's advent calendar and then one each for stockings.(Although I still don't know if DS and co will be with us on Christmas morning!)
I need to get ready for our outing! Happy Sunday all.

HairsprayBabe · 26/09/2021 14:55

Our Aldi is getting all the Christmassy bits in now 😍🥰

Booked some October leave off, one day in half term, but the rest before so I can hopefully do the autumn stuff without so many other people about 🤞we have DS christening at the end of October too!

Also heard the Aldi wooden toy event is going to be at the end of October, I bought loads last year and split it over DS Christmas and first birthday

Warm here again today but the rest of the week looks like it is going to turn very autumnal,

Trying to keep up with the thread but not doing an amazing job 😖

WreckTangled · 26/09/2021 16:27

I feel like I haven't really got much to say at the moment Grin not much happening really. It's a nice day here but I'm having a lazy dah. Dd and ds are both at friends houses and dh is cleaning the bathroom.

Dinner is chicken pie with roast potatoes. I'm having chicken sausages with swede mash and broccoli.

CrazyBaubles · 26/09/2021 19:38

Finally sat down. Today DH and I have gone through the house and moved all the stuff for the shed that we'd squeezed into every tiny storage space we have. I now have space but also have piles of 'things' I need to sort through 🙄
Have also stopped for a break by going to FILs for lunch then doing the food shop on the way home - Aldi today because the queue for Sainsbury's garage was huge and blocked the way into the shop car park.

puss I hope your electrics are ok now!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/09/2021 22:02

I've ordered some Christmas Bedding for DD ( it's Winter rather than FullOnChristmas ) brushed cotton .
As soon as Hallowe'en is over she wants her Christmas Bedding on Xmas Grin

She's got some years old fleecy bedding but it needs sewed . I will get round to it , but she has the choice now to swap . (Between Nov-March when the winter bedding is on I'm sure she'll want them changed )

I'm starting to get a bit twitchy about the predicted shortages so though I don't usually peak too soon, I;m not going to be searching in December for things .
I'll either get them....or not !

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 26/09/2021 22:06

Hello! Not much exciting has happened today. I shouldn't moan about mince pies in Sainsbury's, but I discipline myself and don't buy them until December 1st, so it's torture!

ConstantlyCooking · 26/09/2021 23:00

Loveliness I allow myself to buy food for my Christmas when I see it but put it in my Christmas food box and don't eat it until I break up for Christmas (although I am allowed to raid the box if watching a Christmas film with DD and it is open season on mince pies from December 1st Xmas Grin

It's ridiculously mild today. But also really wet and windy Hmm

pussycatlickinglollyices · 27/09/2021 06:55

Chucking it down here.
Still on extension leads, spark coming back at 9 to do some fault detecting.🤦‍♀️🤞

FireflyGirl · 27/09/2021 06:57

Really windy here, too.

DH pulls down the blind in the bathroom, but if the window is open the wind blows the blind and it knocks everything off the windowsill most of which shouldn't be there anyway.

He did it again last night, and there was a huge crash at 5am this morning. Everything has been knocked off, including DH's toothbrush into the loo. I decided to be nice and tell him...

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 07:25

You're a better woman than me, Firefly! 🤣🤣

Chucking it down here too. Our overflow buckets have gone from empty to 2/3 full overnight! Very soggy indeed.

CrazyBaubles · 27/09/2021 07:41

Same wet and windy weather here too. The dog woke me at 5 as he needed a wee and it was hammering down then.

So so tired now that I'm struggling to keep my eyes open 🥱

WreckTangled · 27/09/2021 07:58

I was awake at 5 too crazy. So annoying as my alarm was set for 5:20 and I could have done with that extra 20 mins Grin

There's leaves everywhere on the roads, proper autumn.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 08:03

In our family, I'm allowed to start talking about my birthday when the leaves start to fall it's how they stopped me going on about it all year when I was small! 🍁🍂

I woke at 4.40 when the rain became extra noisy. They went back to sleep until 6.20, 5 minutes before my alarm.

I did the cross trainer again this morning. I need to up the resistance on Weds, as I'll have been doing 30 minutes on this resistance for a week then. Length of workout is more important for me right now; difficulty can be increased gradually!

Spark just arrived. Please cross everything 🤞

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/09/2021 09:23

Haha Fluffy you did talk about your birthday non stop as a little girl.

Pouring with rain here, my petrol is getting low but may leave it still for now.

I had my flu jab on Friday after my long day, there was a pop up clinic downstairs from the ward.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 09:44

Good luck, Puss!

FireflyGirl · 27/09/2021 10:13

Everything crossed that it's an easy, and cheap fix puss

DH had to go out in his car to find somewhere where he could fill up my car, why 🙄 He ended up in my sister's village, 10 minutes away. There's at least 3 petrol stations closer, all out of fuel!

WreckTangled · 27/09/2021 10:29

There's been a massive fuel spillage near me. Over a mile long. Just what we need when there's limited fuel deliveries Grin
