I'm not sure I'd get ours vaccinated at the lower end of the age bracket (I'm fully vaccinated) as I'm not sure the benefits are sufficient to have it done. I wouldn't contact people to abuse them about providing vaccinations though!

As it is, they're far too young, so thankfully I don't have to decide!

I dodged an energy firm collapse bullet today. I swapped to Avro, but EDF (who I was swapped to when GNE went pop earlier this year) bribed me to stay with them. Thank god they did, as Avro have now gone pop. Can't be arsed dealing with that nonsense again. 🤣

Yeah I'm not sure I'd get ds vaccinated as he doesn't have any risk factors. I haven't really thought about it though as he's too young to get it.

It's health related Meredith Smile

First school trip offered to dd. £450 Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2021 18:02

Jesus! How long do you have to pay that, if you want her to go, Wreck?

JustSeven · 22/09/2021 18:02

Wreck what are you studying at uni?

My DS is 13 and classed as vulnerable due to a medical condition so has already had his vaccine, he’s due his 2nd dose next weekend. My 3 DD’s are all under 12 but I wouldn’t think twice about them having it.

ConstantlyCooking · 23/09/2021 07:46

94 (apologies if someone else has added the countdown- my phone is slow this morning like me,
Good luck at uni Wreck. I went as a very mature student to do my pgce. Balancing study and children really improved my organisational skills. Although whereas some of the others would leave essays until the holidays when they could go home and not need to cook/clean, I tried to finish mine before the DC broke up for their holidays! Wishing you all the best,
Fluffy- Lidl only had the chocolate covered lebkuchen- i am waiting for the plain iced ones ( and the florentines!).

Morning!

Gloomy start (looks like we've had rain), but meant to brighten later. The washing machine is on! 😁

I've done day 4 of the cross trainer, so I'm getting back into the swing of it. It's so much more civilised being able to exercise at home! 🤣

We had a request for a voluntary £20 for a trip to Chester for DD. Thank god it's not £450! We'll pay it as we can afford to. £450 would be a stretch, however. Thankfully my student loan (mortgage-style, paid in fixed instalments over 5 years, as I'm old) will end before the expensive trips come in, so that will help affordability.

I went to full time law school the September before I turned 30. The GDL is hardcore, and not for the faint-hearted wannabe lawyers! I got out alive though, just my right eyelid twitched for the whole year! The LPC the year after was much easier.

It's fun being a mature student except when you get sucked into partying like a 22 year old!

Thanks constantly It's only one day a week and the rest is work based so should be ok. I'm not sure what I'll do in the school holidays as ds is too anxious for a holiday club. I do get six and a half weeks annual leave thankfully.

Fluffy I get to pay it in monthly instalments so that's so thing. They want the first £100 by October though Hmm when I left for the gym the moon was so bright I didn't need my torch and when I was driving it felt like there was a car shining it's lights in my car. Going to be another warm sunny day here.

CrazyBaubles · 23/09/2021 13:39

What trip cost £450 Wreck? That seems an awful lot doesn't it?

Day started very wintery here - was cold and even with the curtains open, we had to put the light on this morning. Brightening and warming up now though.

Work is manic as always but I'm going to see my sister and her dc this evening which will be nice. Niece has already promised me a rendition of Jingle Bells (it's her favourite song) Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 23/09/2021 15:50

It's a five day trip which appears to include lots of excursions. We told her she can go and we will go away without her as that can be her holiday Grin

I feel really tired again, it's clouded over and I'm tempted to get into my pjs!

ConstantlyCooking · 23/09/2021 17:44

Sorry about getting the countdown wrong Blush. I blame the excitement now we are in the 90s!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2021 17:51

I posted as you were posting, Constantly, so it actually looks quite neat! Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 23/09/2021 22:09

Woohoo, back to student life Wreck 😁

Did you get your Jingle Bells serenade, Crazy?

CrazyBaubles · 23/09/2021 22:18

I'm so tired. I'm not sleeping well anyway but today has worn me out. Work went on so I did an hour longer than planned.
Walked the dog and they've closed the foot bridge we go over so that walk became a lot longer than expected (I'm a bit worried it as possibly too long for ddog).
Then spent my evening with my sister and the dc - niece literally did not stop talking from the time I got there until the time I left, and I received renditions of Jingle Bells, Twinkle Twinkle, the Blippy song(?) and Crazy Frog 😂 My poor poor ears

Wreck how did the offer of the school trip in place of a holiday go down?

CrazyBaubles · 23/09/2021 22:21

I did Firefly - she no longer just knows the chorus, she knows "nooo words" - started off with dashing through the snow and got a bit muddled from there. I think there was something about a 'one hair day' and 'over the fields to go, dancing on the way' Xmas Grin

Morning! I'm getting up in 2 minutes for the cross trainer...I'm just waking up!

Your niece is cute, Crazy!

Can't beat a bit of Christmas improv Grin

Got a chilled day with DD planned, then DS swimming lessons, and then tonight it's my work's delayed Christmas do. I'll only be going for a couple of hours, and I won't be drinking, but it'll be nice to see my work colleagues for the first time in 18 months!!

Actually, I've just remembered - highlight of my day will be waiting for Amazon to deliver my Dr Beckmans carpet cleaner. I had to take R-cat to the vet on Wednesday as he hadn't been eating - couldn't even be tempted by chicken. All seems okay, we're just waiting for his blood results, but obviously the first thing he did when we got home was empty his food dish 🙄 And then he puked all over DS's carpet.

Then yesterday morning he'd had an accident at the bottom of the stairs. We've (obviously!) cleaned it up, but the carpets are stained, so I'm hoping Dr Beckmans can shift it.

I also didn't realise that at 12 he's getting on a bit Blush. He's always been the younger one, and is still very sprightly.

lachy · 24/09/2021 07:13

Morning all!

Am so cozy in bed I don't want to move 😴

Unfortunately I have to drag myself up and get cracking with some jobs before I start work.

Have a nice day y'all Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2021 07:28

Firefly, is that the cleaner with the brush on it? DH got one from Aldi's aisle of wonder last tine he went in! 🤣

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 24/09/2021 07:34

Fire our cat has been being sick a lot recently too. Keep finding it under the kitchen table, at least he avoids the carpet Hmm

Dh and I are going out today. It's my last Friday off so we're going to look around the shops and go to turtle bay for lunch.

Crazy she didn't like the idea Grin

CrazyBaubles · 24/09/2021 08:04

Niece is very cute Fluffy - she needs to be because it cancels out the amount of noise she makes!

Very quiet, boring day here. Full on day at work then an evening of housework and crochet. I feel like I'm wasting my evening but I can't be bothered to do anything else.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2021 08:07

I'm dressed in work clothes today as I'm off to visit a client - who happens to live nearby - to take a statement. It's very odd / uncomfortable!

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/09/2021 08:38

Morning.

I don't think I could go back to wearing office wear - wearing 'proper' shoes 😱

Your niece sounds adorable Crazy

Sorry to hear about the poorly cats. The sound of a cat retching could propel me out of bed like an Olympic sprinter leaving the blocks.

So far this morning I've bought DD1 some Christmas bedding (while I was still in bed) and asked to be notified when the set DD2 likes comes back in stock. I've just dropped DS at school and I'm having a cup of tea at M&S after picking up two bottles of Cranberry Buck's Fizz. I paid full price for it but I figured it's better to have a bit in while I wait for the price to drop. I'm going shopping with my DDs during half term and we'll be visiting a much bigger store. Hopefully by then the price will come down.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2021 08:57

I'm not wearing shoes. That's above and beyond! I'll wear my knee high boots which are actually comfy!

I'm waiting for a £10 gift card from MN for testing some website or other. Then I'll get my Buck's Fizz!

I ordered my new outdoor lights as the transformer is now in stock!

I got these:

Festoon lights.

And these:

Icicles.

We're trying to keep them more sheltered from the elements this year. See if they last longer than the cheap Amazon ones did!
