I can't remember who it was that was looking for motivation books for teens / teens but they had a huge selection of them in my local tk maxx today

Need to budget carefully this year so marking place

Famousthehero · 30/08/2021 20:06

Seeing this thread reminded me to check Vodafone rewards. No clue about the company and apols if it's bad, I just ordered 3 meal kits from Spice Entice for £1 + £2.99 delivery = £3.99
There's a drop down list to choose them from.

Might be nice for a cheap secret Santa or studenty stocking filler maybe?

Seems like a generic code

spice entice and code VERYME341

@Ifyoudontlaughyouwillcry there are lots of bargains but it never seems to save me any money! Xmas Grin

Bsmirched · 30/08/2021 20:08

Just to say, we've had the tie dye kit and it's brilliant. Really easy to use, with the bottles pre-filled with powdered dye to add water to, loads of rubber bands and gloves too. There are also refills of the powders, too.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 30/08/2021 20:14

Not Christmassy but this thread is full of good ideas. Does anyone have any ideas for a thoughtful wedding present for a couple that have lived together so don’t really need anything for the house. Budget around £150.

NotPennysBoat · 30/08/2021 20:16

Long shot but are there ever any deals on new iPads? I'm after either 7th or 8th generation, wifi only, the cheapest I can find is £329. I want to buy from a reputable retailer in case something goes wrong. Does anyone recall if there are usually reductions on Black Friday?

Can you please post the link for this? I can't find it upthread. Thanks!
IsItMeOr · 30/08/2021 20:20

@Adelais some new ones on Amazon here.

Haudyourwheesht · 30/08/2021 20:29

@NotPennysBoat IIRC, the apple store have in the past had deals around Black Friday which means you get a voucher if you pay over a certain amount.

superstar84 · 30/08/2021 20:34

Keep an eye on amazon for iPads, they take £30-£40 off every now and then

We got one from Ao.com in November as they were price matching and doing an interest free option over 2 years

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah

Can anyone recommend a good 4+ lego set? It will be my sons first lego. Also, some of the sets look quite small but seem quite ££ despite that. Are the £5-10 sets stocking filler type gifts? I can't really work out whether they're small under the tree gifts or pocket money treats/stocking as their aren't many bits
@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah I'd recommend looking at a Lego City set or Lego Junior set, anything 4+ or 5+. You may want to keep an eye on Tesco in the run up to Christmas, as they often do half price Lego City sets when they have their toy offers on.

You can't go wrong with a Lego Classic set - Again keep an eye on offers in Tesco/Asda.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 30/08/2021 20:46

Thanks very much for the lego ideas. I think i will buy a small basic set for his bday in Oct and see how he goes, then invest in something bigger or more specific for Christmas. I expect his little brother will want to take part which is a slight worry, he's not even 2yo til Jan! I will have to watch them like a hawk 🧐

oatmilkisntsobad · 30/08/2021 20:51

Thanks @Bsmirched

Just wanted to repeat something a PP said about amazon warehouse. I've had some cracking deals from there of late, including dragon snacks board game for £3, an indoor ice curling game for DH (looks fun) for £3 as well as disney cars mini metal cars for £1 each for the advent calendar drawers. All we're in good condition, certainly not enough for my boys to notice anyway! The cardboard box goes in the recycling bin and they have a brand new toy just the same. Winner winner.

Shufflebumnessie · 30/08/2021 21:04

It may have already been mentioned but the Disney Store has 20% off many items when you spend over £50, plus free shipping over £50. Code is MAGIC20.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 30/08/2021 21:10

Does anyone have any ideas for a boy who will be 13?

I've got an occulus as a shared family present, then he's got a skateboard, some manga and a nice drawing set as he loves to draw.

Wolfcub · 30/08/2021 21:14

Herroyal if he likes manga and drawing what about some alcohol markers Arteza have a manga colour box on offer at the moment and some appropriate paper

DollyPartBaked · 30/08/2021 21:27

Any Frozen fans, the Elsa and Anna dolls are on a 'limited time deal' normally £13.99 now £7.79 on Amazon.

Sorry if this is a daft question but how do you find things for sale on Amazon marketplace? Is there a special place to go to?
Bezzi · 30/08/2021 21:28

Amazon warehouse sorry

ShoppingBasket · 30/08/2021 21:29

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin what about vouchers for 2 or 3 restaurants. I got similar when I got married and it was great as we got a night out each time Grin

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 30/08/2021 21:34

@Wolfcub thank you! Good idea

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 30/08/2021 21:35

@bezzi from the amazon app I just type amazon warehouse into the search bar then you can search from there. Just make sure if you search for multiple things one after another it stays 'search in amazon warehouse', others ie it can get confused and start searching in general amazon store againinstead. I often just go to the toys section and browse.
