I was thinking earlier, surely it's time some of these hit the shops (especially the GH Get Ahead one). Has anybody been looking / happened upon any yet?

I can't stop myself buying them, even when I tell myself I won't!

Xmas Grin

You can pre-order This England's 2021 Christmas issue here: www.thisengland.co.uk/christmas-gifts/christmas-gifts-for-her/this-england-christmas-2021

A poster recommended it last year and it became a fast favourite.

@NoWordForFluffy

Ta daaaaah! Xmas Grin
Thanks I managed to buy this last week. It was the only Christmas magazine out. I went shopping yesterday and bought all the ingredients to make the Salted Caramel Cheesecake for DH. I have to have DF but might have a spoonful just to try it.
NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2021 11:11

I made cheesecake with dairy free soft cheese last year. The texture really wasn't great and the kids - who are the ones who need dairy free - wouldn't go near it! 🙄

Wahay! I have scored: Good Housekeeping Christmas Collection, Country Living Christmas and the People's Friend, the Magic of Christmas!

I'm still waiting for the ones I orders online to appear.

I might venture to WHS tomorrow to buy another while I'm waiting!

I just bought simply Christmas £6.99 to take me to my happy place and came with some wooden decorations

Dillidilly · 25/09/2021 08:15

Does anyone else like picking up the free M&S/Aldi/etc thick Christmas food catalogues?
I rarely buy anything, but love the thick paper, the food photography and reading about each item lol!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/09/2021 08:20

Yes! And our kids keep the Booths ones...we have them going back a few years! Xmas Grin

I was shopping yesterday. As I was about to pay, I saw a magazine called Simply Christmas. I was going to buy it however did not have the money.

mbosnz · 25/09/2021 15:27

Today's scores have been Ideal Home's Christmas, and the Christmas Magazine. And, erm, Simply Christmas earlier in the week. . .

Love Christmas magazines but I can also recommend books (eg Scandinavian Christmas on amazon)
They double up as decor too

Oh yes!

I like the supermarket food catalogues for cooking ideas too.

I love the Booths one - to me it feels like a Christmas magazine! I live in Scotland so one of DH's work colleagues posts one and when he has his annual meeting in December in the Lake District I give him a shopping list!
BananaPB · 25/09/2021 20:12

I'm down south so no Booths here 😭

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2021 15:07

I ordered Homestyle to be posted. Hopefully it comes soon, seeing as my GH hasn't bothered arriving yet. Xmas Hmm

If I was only going to buy one Christmas magazine, which would you recommend? Best value, most interesting content and recipes etc.

That's like asking someone to pick their favourite child!

I always buy Good Housekeeping and Prima, bit only because my DM did. Same with the Radio Times - I only buy the Christmas issue. Its traditional Xmas Grin
