Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

Speaking of books, what was the website like the book people? It sold new books and collections quite cheaply.

Brogues · 11/08/2021 16:41
@Brogues, do you have a link to the socks? My two would love them!
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294229864077?hash=item4481776e8d:g:l4cAAOSwjaJgyiNq Only size small left. There is also a bid one if you look through their store.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2021 16:51

Ah, found them and they only have small. I got two sets of 3 pairs of bamboo Christmas socks.

@oneofthose

Hi! Has anyone seen any beauty deal by any chance?

I'm looking for Elemis Marine Cream for my mum. And some other bits like clarins double serum and Nuxe oil.

Im making a beauty hamper for her and was wondering where the best place to buy them would be?

I remember last year one of the beauty sites had a deal of spend X amount and get lots of free treats.

Can anyone suggest any bargains or deals Grin

I thought it was QVC who had some deals last time (I've definitely seen some before).

I found some good deals on Elemis at Center Parcs spa - although a day trip especially would be a bit steep...

oneofthose · 11/08/2021 17:03

Thank you @greyinganddecaying I'll have a look on QVC now Smile

Mommabear20 · 11/08/2021 17:07

Not deal related, but does anyone have any gift ideas for a FIL who has no hobbies and is virtually house bound?? After 8 years I'm completely out of ideas! DH is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard! 😂

deeplybaffled · 11/08/2021 17:07

@Brogues - I think it might be www.books4people.co.uk

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2021 17:09

@Brogues, is it Lowplex?

Fabuleuse · 11/08/2021 17:16

@Brogues we have used books2door a few times which is similar. Very prompt delivery.

Daisy829 · 11/08/2021 18:06

@Mommabear20 how about a magazine subscription? My dad is the same. It’s really hard to think of gift ideas.

CarolinaWeeper · 11/08/2021 18:14

For anyone that is an H&M member and has the app, there's 15% off all purchases over £40 today only with code APP15. The discount also applies to sale items so I've picked up some pyjamas and jumpers for the DC for Christmas.

InDreamland · 11/08/2021 18:21

@oneofthose I'd suggest waiting for QVC to do a TSV on Elemis. They tend to do one every year in the run up to Christmas and the gift sets are always lovely. The offer is always really good and if you're a new customer you can usually get a referral from someone on this thread to get an additional £10 off. Or if you're not a new customer refer someone to get the £10 off that way.

oneofthose · 11/08/2021 18:26

@InDreamland thank you!! I'll keep an eye out for the gift sets! I want to really spoil my mum, she's really looked after me this year since I've had a baby.

Marvel23 · 11/08/2021 18:37

Kids stuff for less is good for stocking bits and bobs. I've ordered crafts bits from here a few times and had no problems

sorryiasked · 11/08/2021 18:45

@Mommabear20 we have a similar issue. Previous presents that have gone down well:
Echo dot
Personalised iPad cover
Personalised lap tray (with cushion attached)
New mugs (big ones for a decent cuppa!)

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 11/08/2021 18:55

@Mommabear20 similar with gran. Last year I got her a photo blanket of her wedding day (she’s very vain so I won best granddaughter last year) my go to are plants for the garden and plants for her conservatory as she can still get out there, even if she doesn’t plant them. Was thinking of planting up a nice bowl of hyacinths that are just beginning to poke through so that it smells like spring after Xmas.

Brogues · 11/08/2021 19:14

I think it was Lowplex but Books4people have the deal on I missed out on last year on Lowplex so excellent detective work!

FredaFox · 11/08/2021 19:36

I hope QVC do those deals on neom again, I bought the candles as gifts, they had sold out by the time I went to buy them for myself!

Nothappyland · 11/08/2021 19:40

For book buying I use The Reading Tree. All books £2.50 brand new. Have adults and children’s books.

They obviously don’t have everything, but what they do have seems well worth £2.50 per book so if you’re browsing rather than searching specifically they may be worth a look.

Puffalicious · 11/08/2021 19:42

Sorry for long link. I've used this site many times and right now 20% off. HTH

Puffalicious · 11/08/2021 19:43

Sorry, that was for oneofthose

Jumpingintosummer · 11/08/2021 19:44

ASOS 20% off everything until 9pm TREAT20

Junobug · 11/08/2021 19:46

@Brogues I have used www.mystorytree.co.uk/ recently. Like above, their range isn't great but for £1.99 a book, they were a bargain and quick postage.

Brogues · 11/08/2021 20:08

I like the range under the different ages at story tree.

greyinganddecaying · 11/08/2021 20:11

Thanks for the ASOS code!
