Ah, yes! Pyjamas! Xmas Grin

My company loves a Teams meeting. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 20/05/2021 10:54

I recognise your old name, Mrs! Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 20/05/2021 11:04

Welcome / welcome back ItsAll & MrsLC 👋

Woolly I can't decide what pattern I want for a blanket. I was looking at as mosaic one but I'm not sure I have the concentration for it so may pick something straight forward and repetitive so I don't need to focus on it too much.

Same weather here, it's been non stop rain since my alarm went off.

My company love a Teams meeting too and everyone always has their camera on 🙄

Just taken delivery of my LoveCrafts order. Fluffy have you got yours?

WreckTangled · 20/05/2021 12:01

It's miserable here too. We've got a weather warning for wind.

Oddly my cherry tree is blossoming again Confused never had that happen before.

TheWoollybacksWife · 20/05/2021 13:38

Crazy what about something like this? It's a lovely repetitive square pattern and then I used a flat braid join to bring it together. It's much easier than it looks (just chains and (uk) double crochet) but it looks fantastic and pulls it all together.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/05/2021 13:51

Oh my god. The weather is dire. I've just put Christmas bedding on the kids' beds as it's so miserable. Xmas Grin

We managed 2 days with zero heating (we'd been having half an hour at each end of the day to get the lounge above 18°) and it'll be back on for a bit later. I refuse to have it on while it's just me here, except in actual winter.

Weird tree, Wreck! Confused

Crazy, it came yesterday. Speedy. I gave it to DH to hold on to!

CrazyBaubles · 20/05/2021 15:01

That's lovely Woolly. Could work for me as I have lots of different colour yarns but not a lot of duplicates and I really don't want to buy more because I have a laundry basket full and DH will kill me

Fluffy I gave in today and put the heating on for an hour. DH can't complain - he left 4 conservatory windows, the kitchen window, 2 bedroom windows, the landing window and bathroom window all open on the catch and the house was bloody freezing 🥶

I did a little cross stitch inventory earlier - 3 big kits, 2 medium kits, 2 chrismas cards and a very small Christmas decoration kit 🙄 rediculous for stitch a slow stitcher!

Just had a bit of random drama. I woke up needing a wee, decided to get myself a drink as I was up anyway. Clearly made some noise downstairs and was quickly confronted by a half asleep husband who ran down the stairs and shouted 'HELLO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING' at me. Apparently in his sleepy state he assumed the noise was a burglar and it didn't occur to him to check whether I was in bed or not, or that the noise might have been me 🙄
Not sure who gave who the biggest heart attack so now I'm wide awake and he's snoring.

Going to be the zombie bench for me after this I think 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 21/05/2021 06:32

Thank god he didn't have a weapon, Crazy! 😱 I hope you got back to sleep.

The miserable weather continues here. But at least it's Friday!

We're working out when to put our washing out. I'm keeping my eyes glued to the forecast! It won't be before this afternoon, so I'll stick a load on timer to finish at 3-ish so it's ready to go!

WreckTangled · 21/05/2021 07:40

I had a rubbish workout this morning. My feet are so painful at the moment. I did manage to leg press 32kg which is much higher than when I started but then I kept losing my balance on the dead lifts and my feet hurt too much to finish off on the treadmill or cross trainer. Bleurgh. Got an asda delivery this morning which I'm pleased about as I really don't want to go out anywhere. It's so miserable.

Crazy that's so funny Grin dh has raised his fist to me before when I've woken him up thinking he's being attacked HmmGrin

CrazyBaubles · 21/05/2021 08:53

Morning 🥱 I managed some extra sleep but only an hour or so due to the lovely period cramps so I definitely feel like a zombie today. I'm giving myself an early finish because I think any energy / focus I have is going to crash after lunch.

Fluffy there is no break in the rain forecast here. It's been grey, very very windy and absolutely hammering down since yesterday morning. A tree just down the road has come down overnight too.

Wreck when DH stormed into the kitchen shouting he had his arms up as if he was ready to fight. He's never actually thrown a punch in his life 🙄
He startled me so I shouted "stop stop DH, it's me" and his only answer was "oh yeah" but he didn't actually put his arms down for a minute or two 😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/05/2021 20:00

Yo ! Did y'all miss me ?
I was away ( not holiday , had to do emergency visit to DParents house long story)

Drive home was a nightmare , it poured with rain the whole way , the throwback from lorries and people with no bloody lights on Xmas Angry

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/05/2021 20:57

Hi 70 of course we missed you. Sounds like a bit of an adventure you had there.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/05/2021 08:22

Morning!

You're back, 70! 🎉 Sorry you had to have an epic trip (I believe your parents' house is north of the border, or definitely very north?).

We had a speedy ejection from bed this morning. I'd been lying there for a bit before I checked the weather forecast. Which said 80% chance now, which led to us leaping out of bed as we had two loads of washing on the line! It had just started, so while the washing got a little damp, it could've been worse. Another 5 mins it would've been wet. Bloody weather. Yesterday it said today was going to be dry. Sigh.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 22/05/2021 09:24

Morning, we have people in doing some new flooring in the boy's bathroom and everywhere smells of sealant which is very unpleasant.

CrazyBaubles · 22/05/2021 11:07

Welcome back 70! I hope everything was ok with your family.

I don't mind the smell of sealant why - my dad is a tradesman and it takes me back to my childhood.
Can you open some windows and maybe burn a nice --Christmassy- smelling candle?

We were forecast rain to start around now and last 2-3 hours but it hasn't started yet. I have a load of washing complete which I was going to hang in the conservatory but now I'm not sure - would love to have some line-fresh washing done.

DH is currently food shopping. He just called to check if I still want lamppost-style solar lights so I'm assuming he's found some...

I'm in quite a bit of crampy pain today so don't think I'll be doing much. I may plant some sunflower seeds I was given - I think I can put them in small pots and start them indoors can't I? I've never grown any before!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/05/2021 11:29

It's beautifully sunny here now. Chilly in the wind, but perfect drying weather! I've stuck the airers outside so the washing can keep the outdoors smell on it. It's dry in the main, but I do love the smell of outdoors dried washing. DD's bedding has gone back out for the same reason! It was perfectly dry, but didn't have the nice smell.

I've opened the greenhouse door for the first time in 2 days. The plants are coming on well where the snails haven't got them. I might pootle about in the garden later. I need to pot some things on and sow more beans too. I also need to clean the kitchen (etc!). Exciting times!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/05/2021 12:17

Yes, parents house is North of the Border Xmas Grin It was a problem with the house , not family themselves .
I was able to see my Mum (with Covid restrictions) she is doing as well .

I have a 50:50 loaf in progress in the breadmaker and some washing blowing about .

Need to think about Rudolf Day coming up ... might have another practice run with Cinnamon Buns (purely in the interest of this thread )

The last batch were nie but needed more cinnamon. I'll need to perfect the recipe and timings so on Christmas Eve I can effortlessly make some for breakfast .
See how I'm Taking One For The Team with the Cinnamon Bun research !

DH Is still asleep so I've fed Les Chat
For my troubles I've found a cat pooh behind a garden chair* in the hall.
In the Cats Defence , it is leaning against the wall and very near their tray , so like a tunnel . They are very good and clean usually , maybe just bewildered !

*chai is still wrapped and folded flat waiting to go outside

NoWordForFluffy · 23/05/2021 09:10

That's not the kind of present I fancy, 70! 🙈

It's allotment day today. The forecast is all over the shop, however. 🙄🤷‍♀️

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/05/2021 10:42

Ha! I think its a protest that I am back home .
They've had DH to themselves so ver' ver' judgey that I'm here.

According to DH they are a far higher interlectual plain than the guinea-pigs ( who just ate and poohed )

DS thinks the female cat is trying to oust me as Alpha Female (and TBF , she has succeded Xmas Grin

Morning!

We had a massive rainstorm last night. One of the buckets we collect rainwater in (as an addition to - full at present - water butts) went from 3 inches full to brimming in about an hour! 😱

It's currently sunny AND raining.

We need to get to the end of this thread before 70's DD's birthday 25 June as I have a new title I want to use that'll only work around that date! No pressure.

CrazyBaubles · 24/05/2021 08:37

Morning. We had non stop rain here yesterday too.
Great minds must think alike Fluffy - we don't have any water butts yet (I want them for the garden as we're on a water meter) but we have 3 buckets and a watering can as temp measures. All are full at the mo although I don't think we'll need them this week.

I had the most awful, sudden, hormone induced migraine yesterday. No warning and was really strange for me because it started with nausea, then actually being sick then aura, head pain, up and down temp and light sensitivity. That's all in a backwards order for me. I went to bed with it at 12 and stayed there until 5 this morning. Now feeling slightly hungover.

I need to feel better ASAP though - we're going out for tea tonight and I've been looking forward to it!

CrazyBaubles · 24/05/2021 08:44

Also, I wanted something to occupy my mind while I decided on a pattern for my blanket and some inspiration to hit for some fingerless gloves for my niece (she found the iron man ones I made years ago for eldest nephew, loves them but asked me to make her "girl ones, that are funny and sparkly and beautiful" Confused) so I started a mini Christmas cross stitch to keep myself occupied. It has some backing material and a ring to turn it into a decoration / bauble.
I'm hoping it'll be finished tomorrow ready for Rudolph day 🎄

I still haven't bought a frame for my Christmas cross stitch either. I can't decide on a green frame (and I was thinking of buying a matching red one for the other kit when I finish it), gold, silver - or something else entirely. Help!
