This has maybe already been asked but what does everyone do for breakfast on Christmas morning? We're going to my mums for christmas dinner but not until mid afternoon so want to do a nice christmassy breakfast for DH and DD (2) so kid friendly ideas would be appreciated.

Tattle scones with either smoked salmon or kilties.

SweetPeaPods · 17/12/2020 21:17

We'll probably have frozen bake in the oven pastries with fruit though dc would be happy with a selection box.
Last year we have Christmas tree crumpets iirc.

MooChops89 · 17/12/2020 21:25

We used to have a full English but it ends up being way too much food by the time we sit down and eat it around 11am, we don't want our dinner for ages then. Last year we had croissants, with bacon and with jams, chocolate spread etc and it was perfect, will be doing the same this year!

Tearsfortiers · 17/12/2020 21:29

We're having monkey bread this year which DS and I will make on Christmas Eve then pop in the oven Christmas morning.

BettyOBarley · 17/12/2020 21:33

I've bought some jus-rol bake in the oven cinnamon swirls. And Bucks Fizz for me of course!

OatcakeCravings · 17/12/2020 21:34

Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on crumpets usually. My DS usually requests bacon rolls but I always say no as I feel there is enough processed meat with the dinner!

Merrz · 17/12/2020 21:36

I did think about full English but that was my worry @MooChops89 croissants with a variety of fillings sounds like a good idea, I was thinking about doing fruit platter but not sure if that's just a waste of time on christmas

Another one for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs here - only ours will be on soda bread (being in Ireland), Possibly a dollop of sour cream on top, and lots of freshly ground black pepper.

Merrz · 17/12/2020 21:37

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, yum! Not sure DD would eat that though Hmm

Toasted panettone with Bucks Fizz, clementines and tea.

hilariousnamehere · 17/12/2020 21:38

Kippers on toast!

SuePreem · 17/12/2020 21:38

We're doing eggs benedict/florentine this year.

ohidoliketobe · 17/12/2020 21:56

Jus-rol cinnamon buns here too, and pain au choc. With a bit of fruit the kids will eat - bananas, strawberries and clementines,. fruit juice for kids and coffee for me and DH (I'm pregnant and he doesn't like fizz)

ElfieElfington · 17/12/2020 22:00

Toasted triple chocolate panettone with proper butter 😋

LuckyNumberThirteen · 17/12/2020 22:39

Cinnamon buns!

CoolCatTaco · 17/12/2020 23:20

Smoked salmon & poached eggs on lightly toasted crusty bread & bucks fizz for me & DH, cinnamon crepes for DD.

Lndnmummy · 17/12/2020 23:20

Cinnamon swirls, croissants, fruit and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee

ouchmyfeet · 17/12/2020 23:22

Nigella's croque monsieur bake is amazing. It's essentially a baked eggy cheese and ham toastie. You make it the night before and leave in the fridge overnight, perfect Christmas breakfast with or without a glass of fizz

My toddlers have a selection of pain au chocolat, crumpets shaped like Christmas trees and scotch pancakes with strawberries, jam, blueberries & whipped cream to look like Santa.

MrsMiaWallis · 17/12/2020 23:26

Eggs benedict with parma ham, it'sa Gordon ramsey recipe that weve had for 10 years now. Coffee for me, I don't like alcohol in the morning. Dh and dd1 might have champagne

Deelish75 · 17/12/2020 23:55

Coffee, cereal, fruit, fruit juice, pastries and champagne.

Birdladybird · 17/12/2020 23:57
