Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Poundland had this beanie boo polar bear today for £2, they're £5 everywhere else. He was hidden away in the box of ostriches they've had for months

I8toys · 08/12/2020 15:57

Thanks AnnnaBanna - got one for DS!

Jacopone · 08/12/2020 15:58

Turns out, I’m not finished😫 Every time I add some present to one person’s pile I need to make it fair and even for others. Only it feels like never ending spending exercise.
I have found something from Woolovers but would dearly love a discount code. Can anyone help at all?

TheCrow · 08/12/2020 15:59

Also apart from a bath mat and hand towel which have been out of stock on m&s forever I'm finished! I think this is the earliest ever I've been totally done. Thanks again for the thread, I'll still be checking up and posting anything I find 🎄☃️🎅🎉

I’m now jealous of everyone who’s got their popcorn already! I’ll give it a couple more days before I chase them. The second lot I ordered on dh’s vodaphone have only just been dispatched as well, I ordered extras with that one so assumed that’s why it took longer.

I just hope my delicious popcorn is not lost!

Daisy829 · 08/12/2020 16:07

I really need one of the large sloths from smyths. Been stalking the website to avoid having to travel for half an hour to spend £6!

CosmicVagina · 08/12/2020 16:09

After ignoring all of the fake oodie talk in earkier threads I now would like to get one each for ny niece and nephew.

Can anybody recommend one about £20, ideally patterned ones? Thank you Smile

Elphaba17 · 08/12/2020 16:19

Thank you to all who posted about the HC deals with codes. I ordered the nice list bundle which seemed a great bargain at the time but I'm now sat thinking why the hell have I just spent £35 on chocolate for myself when I'm on a diet lol

JaggyJumper · 08/12/2020 16:23

I’ve been sitting for days contemplating the hotel chocolate deals. I’ve never had fancy chocolate before but on the other hand I’m happy enough with a dairy milk. It’s a hard decision 🤦🏼‍♀️

ZIGGY911 · 08/12/2020 16:27

I had an email for a dpd parcel today. I was like a child in a toy shop when I answered the door and it Oodies. Even the courier commented on my excitement. My expected delivery was 14th December onwards so very happy. They look so lovely.

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 08/12/2020 16:28

Yay thanks @EvilHerbivore I've been dying to post something on the prestigious 25th thread, I have been around since I think the first year, was that the year of the giant Wigwam?! Anyway, what better reason to post than to wish you a very happy birthday Flowers Flowers Flowers (Your kids sound awesome btw!)

Luxplus · 08/12/2020 16:36

Happy birthday EvilHerbivore

PeggyMoo · 08/12/2020 16:38

I have been diligently following every thread this year but have dropped the ball on the last two threads so sorry if this has already been covered!

Had anyone got a free delivery code for Photobox or snapfish? I want to make a DC a small / basic photo book of their years - will be small as have done nothing /seen virtually nobody! - but don’t want to be stung by delivery after I’ve made it.

Daisy829 · 08/12/2020 16:41

@ZIGGY911 yay! I had the same reaction when mine arrived early.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 08/12/2020 16:50

I wonder if anyone might have any idea where I'll find a Pea coat for Dd(10)?
I've just received the one she was desperate for, from Monsoon, and with their sizing running small their age 12-13 is too snug to keep and they don't make them any bigger.
She's absolutely heartbroken, and now convinced that she must be huge (shes really not) the poor love.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/12/2020 16:53

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth Boden, perhaps?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/12/2020 16:55

@BeaLola I went away for a few hours and I see others have already replied! I hope you find the perfect one!

SleighbellsAndHollyberries · 08/12/2020 17:00

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth Have you tried Zara and/or Next?

SleighbellsAndHollyberries · 08/12/2020 17:03

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth .. or perhaps Gap?

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 08/12/2020 17:13

@sleighbellsandhollyberries, thankyou, I've tried the others, but forgot about Zara!

She's just told me that it's ok she can ask Santa if I can't find one...

Jacopone · 08/12/2020 17:13

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth, I would try Vertbaudet or la Redoute. When my dd was younger I was buying a lot from both sites, a good few peacoats as well.

EvilHerbivore · 08/12/2020 17:23

Thank you everyone 😍

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 08/12/2020 17:33

Daisy829 · 08/12/2020 17:37

Careful if ordering from boden. I ordered something on 24 November and it’s been delayed. Hope it’s here in time for Xmas
