Gosh don't you all buy loads! I feel like we're a bit tight in comparison...

£100-£150 limit:
An oak whiskey barrel (fits one bottle in)
A bottle of Japanese whiskey
Bottle of sake
Cheese board
Two pairs of new joggers

Will probably also buy some nice new socks.

I'm amazed by how much is spent on some DH's too. We only have around a £40-60 limit here. Always have done for the last 16 years. I'd love to be able to spend more but it's just not an option here unfortunately and it's not like either of us really need or want for anything.
Shinyletsbebadguys · 27/11/2020 14:00

A boat Grin I appreciate that may not be suitable for all DP. In all seriousness it was a brilliant secondhand deal on Ebay and is a tender he has needed for years for an inherited yacht. It all sounds terribly posh when in fact said yacht is on a hard standing until we can afford to get it afloat and has been for bloody years 2021 is my hopeful year. Tender was transported by us (and many many bungee ropes and a borrowed trailer ) and looks like it should be a garden decoration ( but is watertight and solid despite its shabbiness).

It's cheaper than most have spent on here but I am thoroughly enjoying pointing out that he got a boat for Christmas Grin.

He may get some chocolate for Christmas day , if I'm feeling generous .

Because boat.Grin

That sounds Brill @smeerf where did you get it?

@Lazysundayafternoons f1authentics.com and it's legit, comes in a lovely box. Well pleased! Although to nitpick, the certificate of authenticity says it's a Racing Point wheel from 2017 and the team was still Force India then... Oh well.

The prints we're getting are the helmet illustrations from Split Ink (splitink.co.uk). Just struggling to choose the drivers now - might hold out and see what Danny Ric's McLaren helmet looks like Grin

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 27/11/2020 19:45

Coffee grinder
Nice coffee
Posh rolling pin.

In his stocking he'll get a couple of books and chocolate, bubble bath etc.

GlomOfNit · 27/11/2020 20:44

DH's birthday is shortly after Christmas (oh god and it's a big one) and I tend to buy stuff first and divide into Christmas/birthday piles later. I think I might get him this Old Fogey music station he put on his Wishlist for his birthday though I have no idea where he plans on putting it (cluttered house, few available surfaces). It's made in wood (allegedly Hmm) and apparently will play cassettes (I KNOW, I had no idea he had any left) vinyl, cds, records from those onto something more digital and is also a DAB radio. I'm sceptical but it has good reviews. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07H8KY1GY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A38ZCC034OR44X&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Aside from that for his birthday, so far he has nice slippers because he needs them (and I can't cope with the sound of him shuffling around with his knackered sheepskin soled ones any longer - these ones have rubber soles), some books he really wanted and some harmonica stuff (his lockdown hobby). He'll get a bottle of his favourite single malt, oh and he also has a little malt taster calendar (12 days not 24) that might make him happy during Twixtmas. I'd like to get him some new casual trousers and he has some socks and face mask and chocolate for his stocking. Thinking of the Italian stovetop coffee pot I just saw on MN Swears By, though I did also buy him one of those coffee filter cones because his current coffee gadget is leaking. Will also get him a couple of the CDs on his wishlist. This lot then gets divided between the two dates. It's hard having to have all the inspiration (and dosh) at the same time of year.
