Playstation 5 - what should I do?

I have three DC who have hand an incredibly hard year. Two of them have asked for PS5 for Christmas. There is more stock being released on Thursday but advice is that it will sell out in less than an hour and isn't guarantee to be delivered before Christmas.

I've been watching on eBay and the price that they are going for is slowly rising and is now double the actual cost of the console in store. I assume once they've sold out online on Thursday the eBay prices will rocket even more.

My question is what would you do? Would you risk trying to get one online on Thursday and just hope they arrived for Christmas or just take he hit and buy from eBay before prices go up any more?

eBay is a joke. Absolute arseholes stockpiling them and making a huge profit from parents that are desperate. Not an option for me to but at the prices they are advertised at and wouldn't give the greedy sellers my money tbh

Luckily my son is old enough to get that he might not get one for Christmas. It's still crap though, all those that have been bought just to be sold for double. Making money out of others misery is definitely not in the Christmas spirit.

I know nothing about consoles but this one is on eBay for 0.99???!?

I've been in a queue with BT since 8.15

Was in the queue for Game for 2 hours, but then had the message pop up saying they're all sold.

I really wish eBay and other selling sites would put a block on the sale of such items for 3 months after first release so that legitimate buyers can get their hands on one.

Someone on the Game Twitter feed was trying to flog 3 he'd managed to get. Utter bastard.

I was lucky, was already on game site when they released, still got put in a queue for 12 minutes.

Dd 13 asked for the PS4 as her friends have got it and she wants to play with them. I ordered one new from Amazon but the delivery date is 14/12 - 10/1. I explained that I could have got it quicker but it would have cost £100 more. She is fine with getting it after xmas (genuinely fine, not just putting on a brave face!) She'll have plenty of smaller gifts to open at xmas

It's maddening this year. Xbox series x are the same.
I didn't get to pre order as DS was in hospital having unplanned surgery, normally consoles are pre ordered as it's the kids luxury item.

He'll be fine with an IOU but I wish I could get one for the kids, DS has such a shitty time with his illness, he practically lives in the damn hospital! Christmas I like to give him what he wants.

Does anyone know if any shops will be getting stock before Christmas?
