Playstation 5 - what should I do?

I have three DC who have hand an incredibly hard year. Two of them have asked for PS5 for Christmas. There is more stock being released on Thursday but advice is that it will sell out in less than an hour and isn't guarantee to be delivered before Christmas.

I've been watching on eBay and the price that they are going for is slowly rising and is now double the actual cost of the console in store. I assume once they've sold out online on Thursday the eBay prices will rocket even more.

My question is what would you do? Would you risk trying to get one online on Thursday and just hope they arrived for Christmas or just take he hit and buy from eBay before prices go up any more?

Fingers crossed they do get more in. We're waiting for game then giving up!

Finally got a bundle on game for the full console t-shirt bundle edition. Lots of faffing around with things in and out of stock but keep going at it because it does get there eventually!

Been in the game queue for over an hour, still says over an hour to wait tho, fingers crossed there's something left by the time I get on!! Had one in John Lewis basket this morning but it threw me out as I was putting in payment details!

I managed to get one on John Lewis this morning but it was a nightmare and was so frustratingly slow. I think smyths and Argos are expecting stock sometime

I remember when the Wii came out, my brother's best friend got an empty Wii box with a note attached saying he would get one in the new year. His mum had convinced the shop to give her an empty box

I really feed for you OP,my son had pretty much exactly the same situation with his dad this year and he asked for a PS5 way back in Feb. We agreed it would be his birthday and Christmas pressie combined. I was so lucky on pre order day and managed to get one via Game,but I was convinced something would go wrong and it would get cancelled....but I've just picked it up this afternoon!

I know it's been mentioned on here but try signing up to Stock Informer and Very.com. There's also a website called Hotukdeals and they're pretty savvy and quick on deals/stock for PS5. I hope everyone on here manages to get one x

My lovely friend stayed on & got us a bundle on pre order but seems like there will be more stock in a few weeks. Not much fun & we've ended up paying over the odds!

I was exactly the same. Made my hubby go queue last night from 10pm as they opened midnight. Thankfully got ours ok. I have been trying for a friend today and all the www keep crashing

I spent over an hour on Amazon refreshing! So annoying as occasionally got an error message, and I'm assuming that's when it came into stock and too many people were trying to get on. Have vouchers, so can only buy from Amazon.

Have already told DS that he may have to wait until after Christmas, he's ok with that though. Doesn't stop the mum guilt though.

I was in the same boat for Xbox. We couldn't even get a preorder so my twin boys (14yrs) had resigned themselves to not getting it until their Birthday in Summer. I went on Microsoft website at 12.10 last night, and saw they were available again. I ordered it and it says it will be dispatched on December 9th! I cant believe I got it and had myself convinced it was a scam but when I went online this morning there it said they were sold out so I just must have been v lucky. There will be 2 very happy boys on Christmas mornung🎅😃

I also managed to pick up an Xbox preorder today on very, this one is for us. Nowhere near as stressful as getting the PS5 was, but maybe because I was only going for the s version rather than the x

My friend who got the ps5 from studio has had an email to say it's been cancelled as they don't have enough stock!

@buckeejit oh no that's even worse. I can't imagine the disappointment of thinking she had one only for it to be cancelled. Apparently curry's did this too

I don't know who is worse, the people who flog them on EBay or those who buy them at the severely overinflated price. They're creating an unnecessary market fuelled by greed and idiocy.

I saw them on Amazon for £1250, private sellers through them, I'm surprised they're allowing that.

The eBay prices are shocking, and there are Sellers with 10-12 consoles.

Showed to ds(16), who is desperate for one, and even he said why would anyone pay that when the only difference will be a few weeks after Xmas.

I would wait until I could buy one at normal price, it isn’t worth bring scalped for the sake of a few weeks. If your kids are old enough to enjoy a ps5 then they’re old enough to understand they need to wait.

If people didn’t buy them off opportunists then the bottom would fall out of the market, by Xmas people would be desperate to sell them!

Btw, friend has a real gaming family & this was her 2nd purchase after pre-ordering from box & being told a few weeks ago they might not have stock!
