Playstation 5 - what should I do?

I have three DC who have hand an incredibly hard year. Two of them have asked for PS5 for Christmas. There is more stock being released on Thursday but advice is that it will sell out in less than an hour and isn't guarantee to be delivered before Christmas.

I've been watching on eBay and the price that they are going for is slowly rising and is now double the actual cost of the console in store. I assume once they've sold out online on Thursday the eBay prices will rocket even more.

My question is what would you do? Would you risk trying to get one online on Thursday and just hope they arrived for Christmas or just take he hit and buy from eBay before prices go up any more?

@buckeejit Amazon, asda, tesco, smyths, game would be my go to.

Mines coming from amazon and has now been dispatched. They took payment last night so I suspect any payments that didnt go through will go back to being stock, same with game.

My husband got one on AO.com after checking the web page daily.

Anyone else checking everywhere like mad this morn? None of the 8am stockists are showing anything yet....

Yes, me. I’ve never tried to buy an in demand toy for Christmas before. It’s a bit stressful! I am wondering how many more times I can see ‘out of stock, or ‘currently unavailable’ before giving up.

Get in the queue at Currys if not already-about 65k ahead of me! 🙄

Any luck? I’ve had one ‘Adding’ to my John Lewis basket for 40 Minutes now. I’m not holding my breath.

It says they are sold out on JL.. managed to get one into my basket but then it said it was out of stock when I tried to checkout.

My friend got one on studio but was slow & didn't add for me.

Currys said sold out & was never showing any in stock.

I refreshed constantly on John Lewis between 8 and 9am, and finally saw it showing as in stock. Tried to add it to my basket, and it is still ‘Adding’ now, nearly an hour later. I dont think it’s going to happen.

Studio was so slow I couldnt live off the page.

Currys was out of stock by the time I got through the queue (it having thrown me out once, thanks for that!)

If you are an EE customer, you can get a PS5 on add to plan which also spreads the cost over 10 months.

It's a bit tricky to do, but I (think) I just got one. I had to log in first, and the first couple of times it just kept taking me in a loop to the login screen, but on the third try it worked.

Good luck!!! It might be the best option given other websites are crashing with demand (John Lewis is currently down). I assume that if you are not already an EE customer, you would be able to get a cheep sim to get access?

I don't understand why yours is showing that? Mine definitely isn't! They've put on their twitter that they had sold out too from what I can see.

I suspect all Amazon’s went to preorder.

Apparently there is new stock coming into the country in waves every 3 days, so hopefully there will be plenty of availability before Xmas.

Smyths are getting some new stock in December as is BT shop. I kept refreshing on Very and managed to get a digital PS5. You can also sign up to PS5 Stocktracker, live updates but you need to be quick.

It just released on Amazon. Had one in the basket three times and it jumped out each time too 😫
