Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

I bought Jus Rol puff pastry at the weekend for my next batch of sausage rolls! Life's too short to make your own!

I’ll have a look at that candle wreck I have this autumnal one that is gorgeous! And smells amazing but it’s not a very Christmassy scent.

Work was not too bad Crazy. Had a loud banging on the front door 20 minutes before we closed which made us all jump. We sent our male staff member to check it out and there was nobody there, just two empty cop cars across the road.

WreckTangled · 21/10/2020 07:29

65 morning. Last night my flu arm hurt and this morning it's my pneumonia one.

Another busy day at work ahead and a weather warning for rain.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2020 07:57

Morning!

It was running day today. My left knee is playing up a bit, but as Why knows, I've had dodgy knees since I was a kid. I think I recall being told I'd grown too fast!

At least your arms are being kind enough to take it in turns, Wreck!

I wonder who banged on your door, Why?

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/10/2020 08:17

It was really strange Fluffy and made us all jump. Our guess was the cops were chasing someone and they hoped we would let them in.

BiddyPop · 21/10/2020 09:57

Morning all, It's been a busy and weird week here, as we've had the uncertainty of what will happen, and now knowing and preparing for it. At least schools are staying open, DCs are still allowed to do sports training in non-contact pods of 15, and it won't be that much different for us really. And I have come down with a cold (lots of sneezing so not Covid).

No crafting has been done - other than a "Happy Birthday" banner for DF (a vague attempt at a "party in a box" as we can't travel to him). I am getting behind on my Christmas projects so I need to get stuck in again this evening - now that I have done my stock-take of food in the wardrobe and tidied up the spare room again...

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/10/2020 10:26

Wreck I had the pneumonia jab a few years ago and my arm ached horrendously for a couple of days.

WreckTangled · 21/10/2020 15:08

My arm is really bad, i can't get the car into 2nd or 4th gear. 1st a struggle too. Was interesting driving home. I'm not a wuss at all but I literally can't move it! So pleased I put a casserole in the slow cooker this morning.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2020 17:14

Bloody hell, Wreck. What a nightmare. I hope it eases overnight!

Hi all! 3rd day down, 2 more to go and then a well deserved half term awaits me!. Although we can’t do anything as we’re isolated but I have lots of outdoor and in the house things planned!. We have been to the woods, the rain has been non-stop all day although only a light drizzle but we got our wellies on!. When we have muddy walks I bring a carrier bag with me and then put the wellies on them when we get back so it causes no mess! It’s life changing. I’m also starting to fall in love with my home again now that I’m trapped in it!.

That’s so weird about the banging why!

My aunt had bad knees from walking to early fuffy, I hope your pain has eased

I hope you recover from your cold soon biddy and that lockdown isn’t too harsh on you. It’s good that your DC can still do sports.

Ouch wreck! I hope it eases.

pussycatinboots · 21/10/2020 17:51

Biddy erm, which foods do you keep in the wardrobe? Are they "just in case" you get peckish in the night? Xmas Grin
I'd guess that fluffy would keep her nightly cheese stash in there Wink
Wreck that sounds a bit of an extreme reaction to the jab.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2020 18:02

I have DH's Christmas chocolates and beer in my wardrobe. 🤫

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 21/10/2020 18:21

Your secret is safe with us. 🙊😉
My wardrobe backs onto the hot water cylinder, so that wouldn't work at all well. DHs Chocs and beer/wine is still in Sainsburys and Morrisons Grin

WreckTangled · 21/10/2020 18:35

My built in wardrobe is housing all the presents I have so far.

It is extreme. Pain killers have taken the edge off, I've got a lot of driving to do tomorrow plus a resus refreshers so not sure how good my compressions will be Grin then no work until the 2nd! So looking forward to a week off although we're busy every day.

pussycatinboots · 21/10/2020 18:56

Wreck when I had a really painful shoulder, they let me talk thru the process and just demo hand position and 1 or 2 compressions (1st Aid refresher) You don't want to aggravate it so you can't drive home Shock

WreckTangled · 21/10/2020 18:59

Yes if it's still like this I'll have to do it one handed. There's obviously no rescue breaths going on at the moment the whole thing seems a bit arbitrary especially when we're not even seeing many people at the moment. Hopefully it'll be better in the morning.

NerosFiddle · 21/10/2020 21:31

I've got a stash of chocolate orange in my wardrobe. I do t even like them but they were on offer so ...

CrazyBaubles · 21/10/2020 22:08

I hope your arms are feeling better now Wreck

I'm very boring - nothing in my wardrobe but clothes and shoes.

I've had a bit of a day- I dropped my keys while walking ddog. Fortunately no one was around as it was raining heavily so they were still there, on the floor, but meant I was rushing to get back to work.
I then rushed cooking poached egg on toast for lunch so I could do a meeting - and left the bloody hob on so the saucepan is burnt. I'm hoping it's not ruined because it's a nice copper bottomed one.
And to top of my day, nephew had a fall in school so I picked him up and had to look after him for a few hours as dsis was taking other nephew to an appointment with his specialist which overran.
Nephew is ok, although he's going to have a bruised face (we're quite similar in a lot of ways and our shared clumsiness is one).

Have since done a few bits off my to do list and am just sat here tired so going to bed soon!

CrazyBaubles · 21/10/2020 22:46

I’ve just realised the key thing doesn’t make sense - I dropped them while walking and didn’t realise until I got home so had to retrace my steps when though it took my entire break (and caused a mild panic).

Also please excuse the ‘of’ which should have been ‘off’

apumpkinaday · 22/10/2020 02:59

Can’t sleep, DS has come into my bed after having a nightmare but that has now woke me up and I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to sleep. I’m also applying for DD’s school place soon so I’m super stressy.

I’m not sure where to hide presents, I usually do it in my cupboard in my room but I can’t rest as I’m constantly worried DC will go in there. I’m thinking maybe the attic but that may call for a very busy night on Christmas Eve!.

I hope your arm is feeling better for tomorrow wreck and the painkillers take the edge off.

crazy sorry about the stressful day but at least your keys hadn’t been picked up! And glad to hear Dnephew isn’t too hurt!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2020 07:37

Morning!

I knew what you meant with the keys, Crazy! I'm glad you retrieved them.

Sounds like one hell of a day! Today can only get better!

Wet start here. DH went for a run first thing while I showered, washed up and put some washing on. It's going to be dry after 8 and bloody windy a bit breezy, so it should dry nicely!

My work cash plan has refunded my flu jab money to me, so that should appear shortly. As long as I managed to get my account details right! Though the check the bank does now means it would tell them if I hadn't! 🙈😂

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 22/10/2020 08:47

Morning.
Been up for hours. DH fast asleep, until I sent the cats up to bounce on him at 7 😇😹😹😉 I knew it had worked by the swearing
Nipped to Morrisons for bread and veggies for the weekend and bought the cats a box of Dreamies with a free penguin dispenser as a reward 🤭
No rain or wind here, just a lovely sunrise earlier.
Crazy you were lucky with the keys. How's the pan?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 22/10/2020 08:48

Morning folks I am off today which is great. House clean time so that I can slob at the weekend. No weird knocking on the door at work last night thankfully.

ConstantlyCooking · 22/10/2020 08:50

Good morning all. You all sound v organised with your present stashed. I have some in my wardrobe and then others in the spare room but I also tend to hide things quickly sometimes whilst distracted leading to panic on Christmas Eve, the occasional unwrapped gift 'found unexpectedly' at the bottom of a stocking and once a lovely box of hotel chocolat posh chocs found in July! I had replaced them after hunting high and low so ate them with a clear conscience. I am v organised in the early months it's late Nov onwards that is my downfall.
Pumpkin I can recommend Matalan's Christmas candles. I bought a lovely one in a brass case a couple of years ago and it has retained its fragrance as well as my White Company ones.
