Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

I couldn't get off to sleep for hours, then DH has woken me up so we can go to Morrisons "nice and early". Hmm
I'm gonna need that wheelbarrow, fluffy.🥱😫🤬

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 07:07

I'm on it, Boots!

It's raining here. So I'm glad I didn't decide to run!

There have been some spectacular skies recently, Wreck. I'm glad you slept better.

CrazyBaubles · 11/11/2020 07:24

Rubbish sleep baton has apparently been passed to me 😴 I woke at 2:30 and again at 4 for no reason.

What do you have planned for your afternoon off Fluffy?

2 attempt with the plumber today - in 50/50 whether he'll show up though.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 07:43

It's an errands afternoon, Crazy. Hopefully the gin a very kind MNer has sent to me will arrive at the parcel shop to collect, which I'll do and then carry on to Bri's parents' house to collect the car to go to Sainsbury’s in Liverpool to spend the Double Up vouchers! It won't eat into my weekend to do it then (our Sainsbury's is too small to stock kettles and irons, which I need!).

I hate nights like that. Can you start / finish early today?

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 11/11/2020 08:15

Fluffy I started at 7 and if the plumber comes I won't take my full lunch break (I usually walk the dog) so I could finish by 3:30. It'll depend on what work comes in today so we'll have to see.

Enjoy Sainsbury's - as sad as it sounds, I'd quite like a wander around our big store, their home stuff is always so nice.

Also, I forgot to say wreck - I watched Christmas Made To Order yesterday and I think it may actually be too Christmassy and cheesy for me! 😱

pussycatinboots · 11/11/2020 09:00

Well, I'm back from Morrisons it was lovely and quiet and the freezer is nearly full. I bought a big bag of wonky spuds, so it's mash with everything for the next few days Xmas Grin
fluffy, enjoy Sainsburys. I'm keeping my eye out for a toaster - it must have a bagel function and very few do. Ours is ok, but if it breaks (it's 16) I really CBA teaching DH how to use the grill with all the crumbs and supervision of nosey cats and not burn the house down...🤦🏻‍♀️
Is the iron for DH for Christmas? Xmas Wink
Crazy, wandering around Sainsburys is very relaxing, and free until something falls into your trolley Xmas Grin

BiddyPop · 11/11/2020 09:06

Not enough sleep last night but at least I did get there and got back a sleep when I woke in the middle of the night a couple of times. Physio shortly, then another busy day at work. Horrible rainy day here too, and windy. DD in good form as she has hockey twice today 🤣 it’s the little things!!

NerosFiddle · 11/11/2020 09:21

Morning.

I spilt a cup of tea over myself last night and my stomach and chest is all blistered now.

I might try and convince Dh to go to Sainsbury's at 11 and use the double up points. You can't buy alcohol here until 11.

NerosFiddle · 11/11/2020 09:22

Boots I've never heard of a bagel toaster

pussycatinboots · 11/11/2020 09:30

Ouch, Nero!
It's a normal toaster with a bagel setting, so it only heats the central elements and warms the outer ones iyswim. Otherwise they come out a bit charred. Blush

WreckTangled · 11/11/2020 09:41

Crazy get out. Now. Pfft.

CrazyBaubles · 11/11/2020 10:59

Ooh I love mash puss. Mustard mash and cheesey mash are my faves.

Our toaster has a bagel function. Took us over a year to figure that out though! Blush

Ouch Neros, hope you're ok.

😂 wreck I was surprised too - never felt that way about a film before. Maybe if the acting was good I wouldn't mind so much. Sorry Xmas Grin

Plumber is here, drilling and hammering. My meeting is going to be fun!

WreckTangled · 11/11/2020 11:02

I'll let you off, only because I happen to agree. It was a bit cringy in places.

MarshmallowManiac · 11/11/2020 12:16

Morning everyone. Bit blowy here too but dry so not too bad. Bit mad as the receptionist from our doctors rang me to pick up prescriptions for my son. I explained that he hadn't ordered any but she insisted, so I picked them up last night. Got them home and realised it was for another boy with the same first name but a different last name. Wasn't happy! Had to drive down and return them this morning arrgghh. Received a shielding letter which says I should be off for 3 months, but I know work would moan about this so I said I would stay off only until the end of lockdown as 'hopefully' the cases will be a bit lower by then. Also just ordered Christmas Monopoly. [santa]

Glad you had a good sleep Wreck

OMG how nice of him Boots Grin that's definitely grounds for divorce or worse sure you would get off with it, no judge would convict you if you told them that! Boots
ao.com/l/toasters-1498/1-20/55-106-79/ We have these kind of ones at school for the kids to have breakfast in the morning.

Crazy Flowers

Hope you are alright Neros

FireflyGirl · 11/11/2020 12:24

I won't get into a competition with you all about sleep Wink

The Christmas film with Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch) has a sequel out next week. I quite liked that one.

I'm disproportionately upset that I got a parking fine when I got my flu vaccination last month. At the Tesco, you get free parking for 2 hours if you spend £5. Not an issue, I spent more than that. Then you get a code, which you input when you leave. It's the only time I've been in 9 months, so I remember doing it. I've now had a ticket - all I can think is because it's the new car I put the registration in wrong.

I've appealed, but am super pissed about it. Not least because you have 14 days to pay the reduced price from the date they issue it, and it took them a week to send it!!

Can do without the hassle at the moment! Angry

pussycatinboots · 11/11/2020 13:29

Firefly ah, yes, we should probably all be grateful for any sleep at the mo. Xmas Wink
The putting your reg no in is a PITA, all the carparks in town are like that now and as I tend to forget which car I'm in they're both small and red Blush there's a good chance I'll get a fine so we either go elsewhere or park and walk.
Crazy I predictably did too much buttery mash🤦🏻‍♀️, but DH bravely ploughed on through it (with extra gravy) he's fit to burst and has just fallen asleep on the sofa Xmas Grin He's had a busy morning of shopping pushing the trolley and looking bored under his mask brushing up some leaves and finding 15p on our drive Confused then looking for some bleach to wash it in. Bless. 🤷🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 16:49

That's really frustrating, Firefly. The only one near us where we have to do that is Sainsbury's, and it finds your full reg so you can check it's yours!

I forgot to look at toasters in Sainsbury's. Even though they were next to the kettles and irons. I needed a wee so couldn't bloody concentrate!

Neros, I hope you're recovering. That must've been a brand new cup of tea to be so hot. 😢

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/11/2020 16:51

Oh neros I missed your post. Did you seek medical attention?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 18:27

Your letter is wrong, MM. Government advice is only to stay at home during the lockdown if you can't WFH.

Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 12): the one where all of the GHs have finally arrived!
OP posts:
MarshmallowManiac · 11/11/2020 18:48

It's not wrong Fluffy I can't work from home.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 18:55

It IS wrong if it says 3 months. That's the bit that's wrong. You've misread what I said.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 18:56

Maybe you misread the letter too? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
MarshmallowManiac · 11/11/2020 18:58

I haven't misread my letter Fluffy and it does say 3 months. I don't know why you are worried.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 19:09

I'm not worried. Your letter is giving duff info and that's a concern. People could lose jobs over such inaccurate information.

I think maybe something has gone wrong with whoever sent it, how you've read it, or what you're telling us.

OP posts:
MarshmallowManiac · 11/11/2020 19:11

Ok Fluffy
