Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

There's been Christmas adverts on the radio! So exciting.

Ds keeps waking up so early (5) which is really unlike him, he comes downstairs by himself usually but it's make him really cranky by the afternoon.

The instax mini I want to get dd dropped by £3, I wonder if that means it might drop more on Black Friday. I'm happy to hold out.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2020 08:46

Morning! I slept past 7 again, whoop!!

I couldn't cope with early rising children anymore. We had years of poor sleep and early starts, I would be very sad if we returned there!

Most, I felt like that when I worked out of the home. It's made a huge difference being able to WFH as I feel far more on top of stuff.

I'm sorting the garden out today. I've decided to take the raspberries out as they don't fare well there, and I'd rather use the space for something else. I also need to finish chopping the buddleia and harvest our remaining chillies. The excitement!

Any chance of either of you getting a nap today most? 4.30 is horrible! Fingers crossed for the new job!

Wreck if it's not something that's likely to go out of stock looking at you, flaming Paw Patrol toy we had to buy from France!! it's probably worth waiting.

I reckon there are either going to be mega deals near Christmas once the shops reopen, or else things will be around the same price.

In other news, Primark are apparently looking to open 24 hours next month. It'll give me something to do during the night wakings Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/11/2020 08:57

I expect that mid afternoon I will head upstairs and leave DH to it firefly Grin

FireflyGirl · 08/11/2020 09:00

Now I'm feeling a bit more sprightly, I need to sort out the garden and the allotment.

The courgette I planted in the greenhouse did practically nothing for 4 months, and has now just started growing courgettes HmmConfused I'm leaving it be for now, as an experiment to see if it grows them to full size. The tomato plants have had it, but still have fruits on that are keeping well.

I have Swiss chard ready to go in once I clear the beds, and rocket to plant.

The allotment has been pretty much left to its own devices since July, so it's going to need some pretty intensive TLC, which I am not up to yet. Reckon that'll be a job for the spring!

WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 09:02

Fire I don't think it will but am keeping an eye on it. I agree, i don't think things will go up so am happy to wait.

I heard about primark, I would go to Oxford street over night if it does that Grin I could spend 10 hours in that primark easily.

WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 10:17

Soup and cookies done. Plus bacon sandwiches all round. Not sure I can be bothered to do anything else now 😴

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/11/2020 10:23

We are having a lazy day wreck. Made pancakes for breakfast. Now I am cross stitching while DS watches TV. If it dries up this afternoon we will go to our nearest park but no other plans.

NerosFiddle · 08/11/2020 11:10

Morning all.

I slept all night last night. I think it must have been relief that the elect was finally called.

Dh has slipped a disc in his back so can't really move. Typical on his week off. So I think we'll be having a real lazy day too.

We've all agreed on Sunday afternoons we'll watch a Christmas film together. Today in the cartoon Grinch.

MarshmallowManiac · 08/11/2020 11:30

Morning everyone. Lovely day today, trees are not even moving. Was woken up today to hugs and kisses and Birthday cards and pressies, it was lovely. DH made American pancakes totally gorged I think the kids are all making dinner for me today. Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/11/2020 11:41

Happy Birthday Marshmallow Grin

American Pancakes sound delicious, they're all thick 'n' puffy aren't they?

I bought a new bottle of syrup so that we can do some ( sometime)

I've made Quorn fillet slow cooker stew , pasta bake and cooked some apples for crumble .

I saw some nice-ish Christmas jumpers in Sainsbury yesterday but none that made me think "Buy It" .
I don't want pink , or pale grey or teal .
I want red, black, navy, proper green.

I think this year I;ll be sticking with my Pogues :Fairytale of New York Teeshirt Xmas Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 08/11/2020 11:56

Thanks 70, yes all thick and yummy. Your dinner sounds amazing, really want a nice new Christmas jumper, would love a Fairytale of New York Tshirt. Grin

WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 12:19

I love American pancakes and I've finally found a good low carb recipe for them. Took a few disasters first.

Happy birthday marshmallow

Does anyone know why the things in my fridge get covered in water? It's not always stuff right at the back sometimes things in the middle. I make demure things aren't touching the back and the drain is clear.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2020 12:59

What temperature is it Wreck? If it fluctuates it could cause dripping. How old is the fridge?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 13:09

It's usually between 3 and 4. It's 10 years old...(btw I've been telling dh we need a new one for ages because of the fridge Tetris I have to play every week but he's having none of it). We will hopefully be moving in the next two years so would rather not get a new one until then I suppose

MarshmallowManiac · 08/11/2020 13:29

Thank you Wreck

pussycatinboots · 08/11/2020 13:57

Wreck if you've been in and out of the fridge a lot it will drip a bit. Ours in the kitchen does that, but it's twice the age of yours. Grin

WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 14:07

It does it constantly boots every single day. It also gets a bit of ice at the top of the back.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2020 14:16

I'd say it's not cooling properly if you're getting ice AND dripping.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 08/11/2020 14:24

is the compressor on all the time? if so it's on it's way out and you need to start looking for a new one.

pussycatinboots · 08/11/2020 16:21

Anyone else got a really weird orange sky?

WreckTangled · 08/11/2020 16:24

Not all the time, no.

No orange sky here just grey... we've had the lights on all day

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2020 16:25

Orange, covered by murky cloud!

I've put the lights at the front of the house, and my mini Christmas trees in the back garden today. We're lit up for Christmas good and proper!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/11/2020 17:05

Wreck have you checked the drainage hole at the back of the fridge . I had water pooling in our fridge but after I had a prod about with a cotton bud it cleared it .

NoWordForFluffy · 08/11/2020 17:18

Was the cotton bud really grim, 70? Mine was when I did that!
