Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Morning.
Wreck British Gas used to do that to us every autumn, just as the heating was going back on.Hmm
Crazy your Mum could set up a business importing and selling those trees you know - she'd get orders from here for a starter!
I'm feeling ok now, but there's an insane amount of gurgling going on in my belly Blush you could hear it bubbling and groaning away over the TV Shock
fluffy did the headache go? 🤞🏻

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 07:32

It's silly isn't it? They've refunded our credit too, which I know they have to do by law now, and I'm not telling dh and keeping it. This does happen every year so yes it must be automated.

We had an email from school advising us to put additional layers on the dc, thermals if we have them. Poor things are freezing with all the windows and doors open.

Happy birthday fluffy! What's your plan for today?

ConstantlyCooking · 05/11/2020 07:44

A lovely misty morning with a hint of ice in the air here.
Biddy- the conditions for having the right to vote in the elections sound interesting.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 07:45

That's really daft, Wreck, as the while point is to build a buffer in summer then spend it in winter. I'd just keep it aside and pay any extra needed in winter.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I'm working today. I might have had it off, but changing jobs meant I was paid for days I hadn't taken at the old place and don't have much to use at the new one. I'm happier with the cash though! 😂

I'm glad you're on the mend, Boots!

No fluffy I'm keeping it Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 07:58

Boots, the headache hasn't totally gone; I have the shadow. I think I'll take painkillers ASAP rather than suffering like yesterday.

My family know me well. I have a lovely selection of cross stitches for my birthday!

Lockdown might have re-started but...at least there are festive cups at Starbucks!

pussycatinboots · 05/11/2020 08:15

Happy Birthday Fluffy 🎂
Take the tablets. I'd rather rattle than suffer tbh. 😂

It's the small things, Constantly.

I missed the email from Morrison's yesterday that their Christmas slots were open, so I can only get 10pm on Monday 21st or Sunday 20th. I don't trust they'll give me long enough dates on my Christmas dinner from then! So, that sucks.

I've booked a slot for the Sunday anyway, and will fight the masses try and change it when they open the better slots 3 weeks before.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 09:06

Argh, how annoying, Firefly. I wish they'd just announce when they're releasing them in advance. I know when Sainsbury’s is releasing theirs, so it's in my diary!

I've taken them, Boots. I'll rub some tiger balm on my forehead too.

Cute cup, Constantly!

Morning!

🥳 Happy Birthday Fluffy 🥳 Lovely cross stitches!

Firefly we watch Alaska the Last Frontier which is part of the reason we went there last year - we even went to their actual town and ended up meeting some people from the show.
We also went to a place called Dawson City which is in the Yukon - DH watches Gold Rush and was so excited about this. He helpfully told me yesterday it was joint coldest place in the world (along with the South Pole I think) - temp there was -37 degrees C!! 🥶

puss my dad currently buys and sells things - mostly tools and bike parts he thinks he needs then realises he doesn't so sells them on so maybe he could do it.
Def not my mum though - she calls me to help her open FB messenger etc - she absolutely doesn't know how to shop online 😂

I didn't even think about the temp in school Wreck. DH must be freezing

NerosFiddle · 05/11/2020 09:45

Morning.

Happy birthday Fluffy.

When are the Sainsbury's slots released? Tesco is 13th at 7am for delivery savers. Hopefully it'll be better organised than last year when they released them an hour before they should have.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 09:54

It's 4 weeks before with a delivery pass and 3 without, Neros. I want a delivery on Tuesday 22 Dec, so it's Tues 24 Nov for me.

We've now bought the required Switch games. I got one with TopCashback pay out and DH had a £5 Amazon voucher so put that towards the other.

I also bought a top for DH from Bamboo Clothing, which makes me DONE!

NerosFiddle · 05/11/2020 10:37

I'm going to try and get Christmas Eve for Sainsbury's and Tesco for 23rd. I'm a delivery saver for both so fingers crossed. Though I don't know what I need to buy in 2 shops. I have my turkey and ham ordered from the butchers, I'll get alcohol from Sainsbury's in their double up and cheese from our local supplier.

FireflyGirl · 05/11/2020 11:32

I've booked a slot for my mum on the Monday on my delivery pass as well. Just in case, as DSis, DN and DBIL are staying there from 22nd until my sister goes into hospital to have her baby early in the New Year (the hospital wanted her to be admitted from 34 weeks, like she was with DN, they said her house is too far from the hospital, but she refused, so they have compromised in her staying with DParents).

Currently, the delivery is just alcohol, and gluten free Yorkshire puddings for DBIL Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 12:12

Cracking delivery, Firefly!

Neros, Sainsbury’s don't deliver on Christmas Eve itself (probably don't want to be accused of ruining Christmas if there are missing items / subs!).

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 12:51

Oh I just saw the Southbank Christmas market is cancelled. Such a shame.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 13:02

Oh no. I think 70 was going to visit!

DH has gone out for the 3rd time to try to collect his meds. The queue was 12+ deep at 9.15 and at 11.30, he thinks they'll be hungry and will have buggered off by now. Xmas Grin
I'm not bothering with a delivery. Cupboards will be full, both freezers are topped up each week and the cats have enough food/litter to last until next year already thank you brexit prep The only thing I need is more alcohol
fluffy my Dad used to swear by Tiger Balm for everything - he had a tin of it when he was doing National Service in Malaya in the early '50s. He went over there on a troop ship called the "Windrush" (yes, that one) I've a postcard/pic of the ship from him to his Mum and Dad quoting the price of cigarettes, saying "I don't think I'll start" Xmas Grin

pussycatinboots · 05/11/2020 14:42

Fluffy I've been in touch with No10, and Boris has promised you a special birthday wish at 5pm 🤡😉🎂😂

ConstantlyCooking · 05/11/2020 14:55

Happy birthday Fluffy!
Just treated myself to a mince pie :)

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 15:57

I really want the hotel chocolat dark chocolate advent calendar. I don't want to pay delivery or a c&c charge. Any ideas?! It has to be the dark one no milk or 100%.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2020 16:20

I don't think it's possible, Wreck.

WreckTangled · 05/11/2020 16:26

Well I'm very disappointed in you fluffy.
