Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Morning.
I woke up really stupid-early but managed to get back to sleep (miracle) then slept til 7. I have 2 very hungry cats this morning.
Last night was really quiet. No trick or treating at all from what we could see (we're tucked away in a corner).
I realised last night that this is the first year ever even as a baby I've not been 1) to Wales and 2) to the coast. It's not likely now with 2 months to go. Oh well - Caernarfon Castle and the sea will still be there next year.
Firefly and Neros 💐 I hope today gets better for you both.
fluffy don't get blown away - it gets windy again later.

FireflyGirl · 01/11/2020 08:04

It's unusual for you to be able to get back to sleep, boots! Hooray!

Due to toilet facilities being closed for so long (which I needed frequently!!) we managed one 15 minute flying visit to the seaside in the summer, but we're only 45 minutes from some lovely beaches and we'd usually be there frequently.

Wreck DS's classes are usually 1-2, but they messed up his class last term, so there was just him and the teacher, and he was really coming along. I feel for his swimming teacher - she hasn't been working since March! I book through my gym, so I'm hoping she's employed by them rather than self employed.

DH doesn't really do swimming. He'd take DS if I suggested (and it was safe) but it'd be the blind leading the blind in terms of teaching him to swim Grin

Thanks for the reminder - I've ordered some probiotic tablets to take with the antibiotics. Last thing I need is thrush on top of everything else!!

FireflyGirl · 01/11/2020 08:15

I have a lot of time for contemplating while cluster feeding.

I've decided I want a garland for the archway between the kitchen and living/dining room this year.

It'll need to be about 12 foot, and I want a nice fluffy one. I don't mind if I need to decorate it myself, and/or add my own lights. I'm going to look on Amazon, but does anyone have any recommendations?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 08:33

I should have a referral fee for this company (DH thinks it's owned by one of DS' classmate's dads, I discovered yesterday!).

The allotment hasn't happened. It's wet, windy and - the killer - a fresh loaf was ready when we got up. No chance I was going out. 😂😂

My children are definitely mine...they've made me put Christmas music on, given that Christmas is next month! ❤️🎄🎅🏻❤️🎅🏻🎄

Firefly someone told me Lemon Barley Water was good for UTI , (I think its the pH that does it ) . I gave it a try , certainly nicer than cranberry juice .
But really copious liquids and proper emptying of the bladder (pee till you think you're done , stand up a bit then pee again (sitting down obvs Xmas Grin ) as there's always a residual pool of wee in the bladder )

Really noisy here last night - fireworks , someones dog, party in one of the neighbours houses .........

NerosFiddle · 01/11/2020 09:46

I get a lot of uti's and drink hot cranberry juice. There's is a lot of sugar in it though.

I've been drinking tonic water for my legs. Hopefully the quinine will help. Last time I had it that it kept me awake I was pregnant.

Fluffy I'm waiting for my giant snowman to be released. It says early Nov. That obviously means today, right? 😂

I'm trying to convince Dh that we should start putting up decorations today.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 09:58

Definitely should mean today. They send by Parcel Force though, so is probably tomorrow! Xmas Grin

Have you started to get post yet?

Fingers crossed with the quinine. 🤞

The kids sent their lists to Santa yesterday. And have now decided they missed things off. Sigh. 🙄

I want to get the outside lights up. I may need to get clothed first, mind you!

It's November so it is officially ok to think about Christmas!

Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 12): the one where all of the GHs have finally arrived!
FireflyGirl · 01/11/2020 12:06

That's the spirit, Constantly!

My Christmas recipe books are in a box under the bed. I've got no chance getting under there for at least another month and DH will do this Hmm if I ask him, so might have to go on Pinterest to get my Christmas fix!

We've watched the Christmas episode of Blaze, Fluffy. DS informed me that it's nearly Christmas, so we should watch it - who am I to argue Grin

I took the opportunity to get him to write his list for Santa - a £20 Paw Patrol toy and a Spiderman watch (which coincidentally I've already bought!). Think we can cope with that!

We've got lemon barley water, 70, so I'll give it a try. We also have cranberry juice, as I actually quite like it, so I have been drinking that already.

Hope the tonic water helps your legs, Neros. I'd suggest a G&T, but maybe you should avoid it for now and let us know if congratulations are in order Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2020 12:18

I used to get night cramps in pregnancy but I cannot drink Tonic Water . I did try arnica ( rubbed onto my legs) and loads of water at night (but then you wake up needing to pee.......)

That is indeed a magazine haul there cooking
I did think abut buying the W&H on Friday but it's one I'd skim read only

Got my The Snowman loo roll though Xmas Grin I didn't buy enough last year . Need to look in M&S too , see what their festive loo rioll offering is , but I'll wait a bit , we're going into LockDown on Thursday so bigger worries on the horizon. .

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 12:27

Where was the Snowman loo roll, 70? I need some!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 01/11/2020 12:52

Neros you need to POAS, then you need a G&T 😳😉
Firefly can't you send DS under the bed? He's quite small so would just fit nicely 😉 I saw this: www.lakeland.co.uk/62888/Ultrabrights-LED-Fairy-Lights-Door-Garland and am very tempted

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2020 13:20

Fluffy in Aldi - they had kitchen roll too

I saw some last week in a small Wilko but not in a big Wilko (though they had the kitchen rolll)

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 13:48

I'm on the way to Aldi! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 14:23

16 Snowman loo rolls are now in my possession. There weren't many other loo rolls in the shop, but enough of those to get my requirements!

We all need lots of lights this year! We've just put our bargain Amazon ones up outside at the back and are now eagerly awaiting nightfall. I'll do the ones out the front next week.

The weather is now wet. Just in time for me to left veg at the allotment. 🙄

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2020 14:31

Xmas Grin it sold out really quick last year and I couldn't find any more in various Aldi stores .
I'll start displaying it in December , need to dig out the Christmas hand towels too .

DD Christmas Bedding is on.
I put a note in my 2020 Planner book to do the Christmas Cake on the last Saturday in November , I'll need to soak the fruit a few days before .

I don't know if we'll be able to have our traditional Carvery Meal ( had planned 29th Nov ) we do for DS Birthday .

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 15:53

I got mine from Wilko near work last year. But I'm not working there now, and certainly not in the office! Aldi is a less-than-ten-minute walk from the house though, hence getting it from there.

Our (kitchen) hand and tea towels are in the kitchen drawer. The bathroom hand towels and floor mat / towels are in the basket with the other bathroom towels.

You might have to have a carvery a week later, 70.

I'm just making mince pies. 😋

ConstantlyCooking · 01/11/2020 17:23

I set up a Christmas household shelf or five in the spare room wardrobe so I can get at mugs, plates, towels etc easily on 1st December instead of searching in the loft. I was meant to be baking today but will delay to next Saturday.

WreckTangled · 01/11/2020 18:08

I made a nice roast today. Back to work tomorrow but wfh which I'm happy about. The dc are driving me mad so I'll be pleased to be rid of them!

Good idea constantly I'll do that tomorrow as mine are currently at the bottom of the present cupboard.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2020 18:24

Yes we've booked ot for the early December but if it goes ahead is another story (I'm prepared that we might not be)

I have a Christmas Cupboard in the kitchen, my festive crockery is in there , I go through it every so often and recycle things .

DH and I had an Aldi nut roast for dinner , very nice Xmas Grin . I like the Lidl Carrot and Cashew Nut Roast so I'll be looking out for that too .

WreckTangled · 01/11/2020 19:51

It's 16° here still Confused strangely mild.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2020 20:05

It's absolutely tipping down here!

WreckTangled · 01/11/2020 20:17

Just light rain here. V windy though our wheelie bin went over earlier.

MarshmallowManiac · 01/11/2020 22:50

Evening everyone. Major bluster here trees are blowing all over the place. Had to postpone birthday meal celebrations for next weekend but hey ho as long as it does some good. Getting ready to go back after half term, wondering what this term will bring. Hopefully lower cases and healthier people.

Finally got my GH, love your collection Constantly which magazines would you recommend and what goodies are you baking? Smile

Hope your legs are feeling better Neros and that your DS had a lovely birthday sorry so belated
