Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Morning. I still have the 4.5 duvet on but I am starting to have the odd night waking up feeling cold especially during the day now I am on nights again. The only reason I have not swapped yet is when the heating comes on I am still a bit warm. It appears nightshift Christmas present hunting means I buy things and forget. I checked my banking app and I had forgotten I ordered my daughter some Christmas bedding the other night 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2020 08:44

I once managed to order 2 copies of the same book from two different places. However, I think that was due to drink, not lack of sleep! 😂😂

I remember you doing that Fluffy, it was funny. I will be interested in the parcels that turn up to see what I was up to 🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/10/2020 10:00

After 30+ years of marriage I have finally managed to convince DH to sleep with the bedroom window open. We've still got the 4.5 tog duvet on with a heavy throw that ends up on the floor every morning but do have a heavy weight duvet for the really cold weather. However, I have warned him that it can't go on until about mid December as it's in the ottoman space under our bed with the vast majority of the Christmas presents so I can't get it out until I have started the wrapping.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 29/10/2020 10:27

We have the one duvet all year round, no idea what tog it is.

As you know we cancelled our big family Christmas at Ribby Hall but I couldn't face a home Christmas just the three of us as we have been stuck at home just the three of us for months now. We are therefore going to book the Celtic Manor later today from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. I think the chances are good as the only level that would stop it would be total lockdown which I think the WG will want to avoid for Christmas. It is in Newport and will just be our household so even in local lockdown it would still happen.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 29/10/2020 10:31

That sounds lovely most. Will be a well earned break.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2020 11:49

That sounds lovely, Most! Good decision.

Are they doing much there for the time you're staying?

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 29/10/2020 12:06

The pools should be open fluffy and they have lots of parkland for walks. DS loves swimming and hasnt been in ages so we will probably spend as much time as we can in the pool.

MarshmallowManiac · 29/10/2020 12:24

Morning everyone.
Little rain here but not too bad atm, hoping to go into town later but having to cadge a lift as car in garage. My DD is moving out on Sunday, thankfully only a few doors down, but her and her boyfriend who were both living with us have booked a meal for us all in a local pub to thank us for looking after them and letting them stay with us. They are so thoughtful. Smile

Crazy 10.5 tog here too, as think if I had any thicker I would be sweltering. Also stick leg out of the covers Grin

Biddy totally no make up here as on h/t and can't be arsed. Grin

Hope the rain hasn't caused any damage Neros

Same in our house Boots wake up in the middle of the night and he's snug as a bug and I'm freezing my invisible nuts off!

Enjoy Hobbycraft and Garden Centre Wreck

Enjoy Prezzo Fluffy

MarshmallowManiac · 29/10/2020 12:26

Celtic Manor sounds fabulous Most it will be a well deserved rest for you.

WreckTangled · 29/10/2020 14:45

The garden centre was amazing! So much Christmas. It's made me want to take a trip to chessington garden centre as that ones amazing. I might do it one weekend next month.

MarshmallowManiac · 29/10/2020 16:36

Glad you had fun Wreck, our garden centre too has a lovely Christmas section and also our Dunelm. Smile Want to plan a trip to our local John Lewis to get some special baubles.

CrazyBaubles · 29/10/2020 21:34

Lantern looks good Biddy. How did you do the border pease?

woolly We have the bedroom window slightly open (on the catch) all day, every day. Couldn't handle having it any other way - and I find it really helps with my headaches / migraines.

Lots of people have said good things about the Celtic Manor at Christmas most. We had a work Christmas party there years ago, in their winter wonderland. Not sure if that'll be there this year but if so, there was an ice rink etc.

When lockdown is over I need to make a plan to go to the garden centre. It's always so Christmassy but I don't often get around to it.

DH and I went for a long walk in the rain again today (almost 2 hours). My feet are aching and ankle is throbbing but I'm sure it'll be ok tomorrow and it was good to get out.

BiddyPop · 29/10/2020 22:34

Crazy I totally cheated as I bought it with that edge on it already 🤫🤣🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2020 05:10

Morning. Awake early again. But I essentially slept from 8.30, so it's not too bad!

Crazy, we're window open people. Unless it's blowing a gale, all upstairs windows are on vent as a minimum all year. We generally open them every day too. I sit between our two bedroom windows to work and do put the left one on vent as I get chilly, but the right one stays open as I don't feel it so much.

Day off today. The kids want to make cookies and carve pumpkins. Sounds ok to me!

Morning,
I tried to get a picture finished yesterday, but ran out of eyesight 👀
I'll have another go later, I think there's more to do than I originally thought iyswim🤦🏻‍♀️
Crazy the Aida that Biddy is using is this:
www.willowfabrics.com/fabric-canvas/zweigart-aida-evenweave-linen-fabric-canvas/zweigart-aida-band.html
It's ideal for bookmarks, and the wider one is fab for around a Christmas cake - I did one donkeys years ago for a friend.

WreckTangled · 30/10/2020 07:41

Awful weather here. Wet and windy. I'm working today in the toy shop.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2020 08:10

It's started badly here but is meant to dry up.

We're all out of bed now but I'm quite dopey still!

I'm also in pain. My body takes about a week to gear up to ovulation and I get achey and bloaty for the whole time. It's hideous. I need to change to a contraceptive that prevents it, I think, rather than just makes a 'hostile environment' it is that all right! I think. But in Covid-times it's hassle.

NerosFiddle · 30/10/2020 08:17

Morning.

It rained again all night. Dh has to leave early this morning so he and me have been up since 4.

Fluffy I'm the exact same.

Wreck enjoy the toy shop. Its probably getting busy now.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2020 08:41

I think about it so much I said 'I think' twice. I'm definitely dopey!

Neros, shitty ovulation 👊😭

I think a toy shop must be quite a fun place to be right now!

Fluffy my particular hobby horse is doctors and contraception. More specifically getting doctors to listen to me when I speak to them and not fob me off with whatever cheap version of the pill is in fashion. It seems to be common among my friends too. The sodding Mirena coil appears to be the current holy grail.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/10/2020 09:01

Oh yeah. The nurse mentioned the coil to me last time. I know of waaaaaaaay too many babies conceived using it though! (But, apparently, it can help with menopause symptoms but will only be fitted for contraception, so I may consider it in a year or so.)

I go to the sexual health clinic in town, not the GP practice. I'll see what they say next time I venture along.

BiddyPop · 30/10/2020 09:22

boots zweigart yes that’s it!! Sorry was having a brain melt and couldn’t remember the name last night. Pretty sure I got it on Amazon, and although I ordered 2 m, it came as 2 seperate 1 m packs. Just in case you want long length.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 30/10/2020 09:26

I struggled to get the copper coil fitted after DH had the snip, I just made it clear that I was happy to sit in the room until they fitted it Grin

CrazyBaubles · 30/10/2020 09:27

Morning! I'm being very lazy, I've been awake for over an hour but I'm still in bed. Going to get up now though as I think DH is doing crumpets 😋

No real plans today - plumber should be coming and I want to do a few crafty bits.

Biddy your secret is safe with me 🤐

Thank you puss - I want to make a book mark as a Christmas present so I may order some.

Fluffy DH thinks I'm a bit nuts but my morning routine is to fold the duvet in half and pull it to the bottom of the bed to air it out, open the one bedroom window wide, bathroom window gets opened slightly and the kitchen window is opened wide all day too (unless freak freeing weather). I hate the idea of stale air in the house.

Also, you have my sympathy. Full on cramps and formally teary here

No contraception here Woolly but when I was on it I ended up giving up on the Gp and going to the family planning clinic instead.
Drs wouldn't listen and kept putting me on pills that impacted my migraines or caused other issues.
