Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

😂😂😂

WreckTangled · 27/10/2020 07:22

Boots our nearest hospital is 20 miles away. We were waiting for a prescription for half an hour which is why we were there for so long. So annoying.

Dd is going to a friends today and ds has plans with our neighbour so I should have a day to myself which is nice.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 07:24

I find it really weird reading about plans with other households! 😂

Morning!

Yes DH is only home this week Woolly and I'm on leave from tomorrow as we were supposed to be going away so it won't be too bad. I'm just not used to him being here in the day.

boots I hope you're feeling better soon. I know sprained ankles can be so so painful 😣

Fluffy does your DH hate wearing a mask? Mine isn't bothered but I find it hard - I lost some of my hearing in one ear when I was a teenager and I never knew I relied on seeing people's lips move until masks came in.

Also, same here with reading about plans to see people / go out for dinner. With everything closed here it's just so odd.

It's a shame about the allotment but if you can get things going in the garden that will be a lot easier for you most

£2.60 for an hour of parking Wreck? That's criminal, especially to go to a hospital appointment!
We're lucky here, hospitals don't charge for parking anymore.

Last day in work until next Tuesday for me so I have loads to get done. Aiming to leave as little as possible to hand over.

We also have a plumber coming today as the fix they did last time on the toilet leak has failed. I didn't like the guy last time so DH can deal with him today.

pussycatinboots · 27/10/2020 08:27

Crazy I know what you mean about the masks and lip reading. I lip read due to tinnitus, it just helps a bit. Wearing a mask is fine for me, it's just I can't always hear clearly/understand others, even DH not necessarily a bad thing😉
Good luck with the 🚽 and you're right to leave DH to it. Tell him you're very important and not to be disturbed, unless it's a Brew and Cake 😂

WreckTangled · 27/10/2020 08:38

I find it hard to hear people with masks on too, even though technical my hearing is fine on all but 4Khz on my left side. I have a friend who's deaf and solely lip reads, I think she's amazing, dd didn't even realise she was deaf.

BiddyPop · 27/10/2020 08:58

Morning, I'm staying out of the line of fire downstairs as teen DD clashes with overtired DH - but she's out of the house at hockey for the morning. Spent the weekend doing a lot of walking for a change, some sewing (felt food mostly done for present, but stockings are a failure as I can't get lining and outer to match up or ease them together). And back to work this morning.

That's sad news most on the allotment, I did the same after 5 years of my plot as I couldn't tend it enough so weeds were overtaking it again, but while I was a bit sad, it was also a relief in the end not to be rushing off to work on it and stressed that I was failing. You can grow lots in a small garden space if you think about it cleverly.

I hope the injuries are feeling better today boots. Take it easy on yourself.

Welcome back to MN Woogle and once you find the bargain thread, you're very welcome to amble back here for the festive (and general) chat.

Ugh, first few urgent emails in....gotta go.

NerosFiddle · 27/10/2020 10:47

Morning.

Another day when the weather doesn't know what to do.

We're in the process of making cinnamon buns but half the ingredients are missing 🤬.

I've also shown dc how to polish. Training them up for the grand clean next week before the decks start going up.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 13:51

We keep switching between bright sunshine and torrential rain!

Is that the box of buns being defective or your food cupboard?!

My eyes are twitching as I've been awake too long. My lack of ability to sleep is pissing me off.

I wish my kids would learn to polish. Must get some training in!

I seem to struggle to talk in a mask. And I also can't hear very well. But never mind! DH is just annoyed at having to wear one, Boots. I think because he doesn't like it much (sensory), but he won't admit to that!

I hope your loo gets fixed this time, Crazy!

CrazyBaubles · 27/10/2020 14:47

puss to be fair to DH, he often brings food when he's going to distract me.
He bought me Cadbury's fingers - orange flavour - yesterday. I've saved them but think I'll have some later.

Moody teen vs tired husband biddy? Definitely the right call to stay upstairs out of the way!

How old are your dc Neros? My niece (2) and nephew (3) love a bit of cleaning - I usually let them loose with a wet cloth and point them in the direction of the skirting board.

Plumber is here now Fluffy so we'll see. He keeps doing temp fixes but actually the toilet and pipes need to be replaced.

I went for my lunchtime walk alone today. It was quite nice, and my audio book finished midway so I listened to christmas fm on the way home Xmas Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/10/2020 15:15

I listened to Heart Christmas on my way home from work this morning Crazy.

NerosFiddle · 27/10/2020 15:22

Fluffy the box was supposed to have sugar and cinnamon in it but alas.

Crazy dc are 2 and 3 as well. Well ds is 3 until Saturday Grin. They're going to have to work on it though because they just pushed dust around. Can't get the staff these days 😂.

Why must try and get heart Christmas in the car. I've been listening to
Christmas fm app on my phone

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 16:11

Whoop! Alexa has Heart Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

That's pretty rubbish about the buns. You should get a refund!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 27/10/2020 16:48

Nothing worse than faulty buns. 🤭
DH had a phone call from the Hospital - he has a phone appointment booked with a Cardiologist for next month. Thank God he doesn't have to go to the Hosp, and this way I can listen in and prompt him with questions for a clever bloke, he's crap at that
fluffy has your DH tried disposable masks? Mine prefers them as the M&S cloth ones fog his glasses up (but not mine).

WreckTangled · 27/10/2020 18:57

We went to get pumpkins. It rained. Dd moaned the whole time. It was cold and muddy.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 21:06

That's good news, Boots! Will you sit just off-screen and poke / hiss at your DH?!

I'm not sure what he wears; we don't go to shops together as one is invariably at home with the kids!

Wreck, we've had many days like that!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 28/10/2020 06:03

Morning.
fluffy hiss and poke sounds like a good plan.😁
Been awake for hours. I may have ordered too many DMC threads 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2 of the colours I need were out of stock everywhere.🤔 I think I've some left, so will have to be careful no unpicking
Wreck it's a shame about the moany daughter...maybe you should have swapped her for a bigger pumpkin 🤭😉

NoWordForFluffy · 28/10/2020 06:23

Which colours, Boots?

I've got to run today. I've not been for a week thanks to the weather. It sounds wet though, so I'll assess when I get up!

I did sleep properly though. Baton passed to you for shit sleep, Boots.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 28/10/2020 06:43

317 (grey) and 666 (red) - I've a little bit of each, but doubt it would be enough. I'll go to Hobbycraft at 9 to see if they have some. 💡 Do Amazon sell threads?

WreckTangled · 28/10/2020 06:53

Ds has a football thing this morning. It's 2.5 hours I don't think we're allowed to watch (thankfully!). It's 45 minutes away though so dd and I will go to the massive Tesco which has a Costa.

WreckTangled · 28/10/2020 06:54

Oh and I just ordered a couple of stocking fillers from eBay: personalised Nutella labels (I have never bought Nutella in my life and the dc know I never would, but Father Christmas will Wink) plus some toaster tongs as ds always uses oven gloves HmmGrin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 28/10/2020 07:41

Morning all. Being in Wales I find the talk of social activities and shopping very strange Grin

Managed to order some more presents yesterday so that was good :)

Another very rainy day here though we are finding short periods each day during which we can go for a walk so that is something at least.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/10/2020 08:02

I don't have those ones, Boots. There are sellers on eBay that may though, if Hobbycraft doesn't come up trumps!

At least you can't watch Wreck. Phew!

Most, we can at least still go to shops here. Not that I do!

It's going to be dry today here, apparently, so we're doing our usual Thursday washing today!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 28/10/2020 10:21

Morning.

Most in the same. I've barely left the house for 2 weeks because there's nothing opened. We'll hear tomorrow if the schools are going to stay closed for another two weeks.

I want to go to Lidl today to see if they've any nice Christmas stuff out. I still haven't had their stollen yet.

I hear Aldi has some nice stuff but there's none in NI. They have them in the South but we can't leave our county at the minute.

WreckTangled · 28/10/2020 12:35

We're back! Just running ds a bath. Got lost on the way a bit but it was ok, parents couldn't stay but we went for a bit then came back and it rained and was freezing. Pumpkins after lunch. I got Halloween Krispy Kreme's too.
