Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Just checking in - DH and I are having what is becoming our routine Sunday evening. He's watching NFL downstairs, I've nicely said he can take over the living room and I'll go to bed.
I'm cross stitching and watching rubbish and DH feels a teeny bit guilty so he brings me snacks (ice cream with a flake tonight). I'm getting tired now though, and not looking forward to WFH tomorrow while DH is here...

Morning!

I was woken by something, I'm not sure what, at about 5.30, and couldn't get back off to sleep. It might be my aching legs! All the squatting at the allotment for weeding taking its toll!

It's now chucking it down, so no run today. I might find an exercise thing online to do. Maybe! 😂

It's a pain WFH with people in the house, isn't it?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/10/2020 06:34

Chucking it down here too, am hoping to get to the allotment later but will see what happens weather wise.

Have done some Christmas shopping in bed so feeling very productive already :)

pussycatinboots · 26/10/2020 06:38

Morning.
I managed to turn my ankle over last night, so it was throbbing in bed keeping me awake...and I stretched and something twanged under my shoulder blade too.
I might have to limp around Morrisons in a bit - so that will be fun Hmm
Raining here too, but tomorrow and Thurs look a lot worse.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2020 07:39

The whole half term is a wash out here! Which is about right.

It looks like it's trying to clear a bit now, so hopefully the towels will get at least mostly-dry when they get put out later.

Not good re the ankle and shoulder, Boots; are you feeling your age?!

Most, I used to go to the allotment whatever the weather. I'm a bit less hardcore now!

My poor onions will be washed out of the ground the force of the rain this morning. It was one of those WHOOSH moments where it hammers it down from almost-nothing.

WreckTangled · 26/10/2020 07:50

Blue skies here! Heavy rain forecast tomorrow when I've booked pumpkin picking though and of course the dc left their wellies at school!

Oh no boots!

Ds has a hospital appointment this morning and I need to go food shopping too which is a bore.

WreckTangled · 26/10/2020 07:51

Also I've just set up ccc alerts on two nerf guns and the instax camera, with any luck they might drop...

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2020 08:57

I've been to Farmfoods this morning and I'm now at my desk.

In the last 5 minutes it has chucked it down but is now sunny. 🤷‍♀️

My legs really ache...I'm getting too old for weeding. 😂

NerosFiddle · 26/10/2020 09:22

Morning.

Lashing here too. We're going go out and look at Halloween decorations this morning. The council have done up some old buildings so worth a look.

WoogleCone · 26/10/2020 14:22

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 26/10/2020 14:35

Hi. Zombie bench here - my sleep last night was awful.

puss how are feeling now? Have you been able to rest?

Today has been a bit odd. DH is here and he's thrown out my rhythm even though he's not doing much. He came with me on my lunchtime walk which was nice - but not the same as going at my comfortable pace with headphones in (he walks faster than me). And he's been in to update me on what he's doing regularly even though he's not actually doing anything I need to know about.
I am hormonal and there is every chance I'm being a bit horrible Blush

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/10/2020 17:23

Crazy I feel your pain! When DH started working from home I couldn't move for him. He's either better at not getting in my way now or I've grown accustomed to him. Is it just this week he'll be home with you?

Just in case anyone missed it Heart Xmas started broadcasting yesterday.

pussycatinboots · 26/10/2020 17:24

Crazy Ankle is still sore and puffy. Shoulder much better unless I twist. As fluffy said, I feel ancient today Halloween Grin DH walks faster than me too long legs, so I tend to do some of his walk and then we split up and I head home at my own pace
Wreck if it's that bad, wrap their feet in bin bags and sticky tape them at the knees - that might save the worst of the mud.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/10/2020 18:46

Ouch boots that moment when your ankle goes "ping" like it's floating then the pain Xmas Sad

Our male cat ran in with a dead mouse , placed it on the floor and pranced about with an arched back, so pleased with himself .

It was a sparrow before .(and worms ....loads of earthworms)

Little toad !

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2020 22:21

The forecast is truly abysmal this week. Worst week in ages! We might get some washing dry tomorrow afternoon / evening though. Maybe!

Boots, I hope you're giving the ankle RICE treatment.

Your cat loves you, 70!

Morning!

Something woke me again. Sigh.

I feel like I'm on a dual countdown now...birthday and Christmas! 🎉 🍾

We're going out for lunch on Saturday at Prezzo (the £15 Buyagift offer). We might go to a pub too, depending on whether DH is going to chunter about face coverings to the point I want to smother him or not!

I'm meant to be running today but I may not be awake enough after my early morning. Sigh.

The leaves are definitely falling now Fluffy. I must post your present when I am off on Thursday.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 05:57

I'm just waiting for photo calendars before posting presents down to you. I'll then know the best weight distribution between what will need to be two parcels!

I need to write my cards to put in there too. Thrilling!

The leaves are a slippery menace. We need the street sweeper to do its thing.

Morning all

I am giving up my allotment this week, it was just too much for me, neglected for years and infested with mares tail and bindweed. Going to focus on making the most of the garden :)

Just had an email from DS' school that there is a case in the other reception class, second case in that one class. So relieved DS isn't affected.

Weather for next three days absolutely awful. Might get some let up around 3 today so will head to a local wood for a walk then as the trees will provide some protection from rain.

Made gingerbread yesterday, will do some Halloween craft today I think.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/10/2020 06:06

Living our best life Fluffy 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2020 06:15

That's a shame, Most. I can relate to infestations...I could farm mares tail! They're tough-going, especially in shit weather to boot.

At least your DS isn't affected, Most. Isolation really would've been the icing on the cake!

And yep, always, Why! 😂😂

WreckTangled · 27/10/2020 06:19

Stupid cat woke the dc at 5:15. They're up now I'm still in bed.

Hospital parking yesterday was £2.60 for just over an hour ShockAngry

There's only a 40% chance of rain by the time we go later this afternoon so hopefully be ok...

pussycatinboots · 27/10/2020 07:01

Morning all, I managed a lie in!
Ankle is less sore, I think painkillers and a small amount of alcohol yes, yes I know worked a treat before bed.
fluffy just smother him with a mask, it's relatively quick!😉
Wreck Hospital parking is free for 30 mins then £3 for up to 4 hrs. Luckily we are a 15min walk from it (or about 3mins in the car) which has been really useful over the years with DH and his dicky ticker. 😁 Our cats haven't worked out the clocks have changed yet either, they think I'm really cruel for not feeding them at the "right" time.😾🤷🏻‍♀️
most you can still grow carrots, beans and spuds in tubs.
Why I hope you got a good deal on fluffys gift, still not sure how you're going to wrap and post a tractor though! 😉

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/10/2020 07:15

Ah you gave the tractor news away Boots. Good job I posted a combine harvester (flat pack) 😉
