Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Rudolph Day With-An-Extra-Hour

Crazy you should Positively Poach ( ie steal) the original tree because it has all the sentiment attached and they can have the new one .

I re-locate something from my DParents house every visit ( not in a bad way )
An ornament that was in a cupboard now on my windowsill. A tiny glass vase . A pressure cooker trivet ( they have 3) , two jars .
DMum gave me my Nanas engagement ring, I didn't pinch that .

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/10/2020 05:25

Oh gosh woolly what a lot of self isolation you have had to do.

DS does not understand the clocks going back so we were up at 4:40!

Did my Christmas card list yesterday so some progress made. Cross stitch has slowed down, will have it ready for next Christmas Grin My subscription box arrives this week and it has a Christmas themed one in so will have that one ready for this Christmas.

Plan for today is plant some more bulbs and go for a walk. Otherwise staying home as per Welsh Government instructions. Will try and get some online Christmas shopping done.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2020 06:54

I'm not cross stitching much at the moment. I've lost my stitching mojo. Weird that we're all feeling it!

I'm glad you'll be able to find stuff on that website. It's good value too!

And yay for the ceramic tree! Good on your dad! I'm with 70, on who gets which though. 🎄❤️🎅🏻😂

Our two are still asleep. They were exhausted yesterday, so the equivalent of 8am is about right. I couldn't do 4.40! 😴😱

most that looks stunning ❤ My cats don't understand the clocks changing either so I was up at half 5 - which is now half 4 🤦🏻‍♀️
Woolly I feel sorry for your hoo-ha. I hope all is well.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2020 07:12

I've just changed the boiler time and the kitchen clock. Just the oven to go! All other clocks do themselves, thankfully.

It's pretty chilly in the front room. I've put the heating on!

Boots, you need to trade your cats in for more sedate models! 😂

My dc were up at 6:30 so same time as usual really.

Fluffy there was plenty of food. Ds had: Nutella on toast, a yoghurt, a mini muffin, a bit of boiled egg, an apple, a glass of orange juice and a sandwich made of two slice of toast, slices of tomato and ham, salami and chicken. He then got hangry before lunch but luckily we had taken biscuits from the hotel and another apple.

It's so wet here, looks like it'll be this way all day. I managed to buy a brand new billy bookcase on fb which I'm pleased about as we need one and IKEA is so far away and I don't want to go all that way in dh's stinky van, so need to get DH to commit to a time to collect if. He tried to suggest it could be DD's Christmas present Hmm

Most that cross stitch looks amazing!

CrazyBaubles · 25/10/2020 07:32

Happy Rudolph Day!

70 my dm loves their ceramic tree as much as I do so there's no chance she'll take the new one. It's the only decoration she still has from my childhood - she replaced everything with more modern, sparkly versions years ago.

Similar plans here most - walk then staying home as per guidelines.

Only clocks to change here are my bedside one and the one in the kitchen Fluffy

I've been up for an hour. Had a cuppa, watched some tv then put a wash on. Going to push on with my cross stitch (I'm not even a quarter done yet) then be a nice wife and take DH a drink and a bacon sandwich in bed in an hour.

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/10/2020 08:41

Crazy we will need a photo of the Christmas tree when it's in your possession. Lovely gift from your DF.

NerosFiddle · 25/10/2020 08:45

Morning.

Ds was up at 5. I still haven't come round. I think I'll be a zombie for most of the day.

Wreck do we have the same Dh. That's like something he'd say for a Christmas present. We got new blinds last week and he said that can be ds birthday present.

Crazy I think I'll join you in a bacon sandwich too.

Fluffy any clocks that don't change themselves have to wait 6 months to be the right time 😂

Woolly I found the worst bit to be the prep. The drink is awful. If you can mix it with lemonade to take the taste away.

Might take a trip to the beach again to run off a bit of energy.

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/10/2020 08:54

Aaarrgh pressed post too soon.

Most 4:40 😱 DS wants to go for a bike ride with DH. He's been told to be up by 9. I can't hear any movement from his room. Your cross stitch is looking lovely.

Fluffy all the clocks/devices in this house change automatically apart from the oven and the microwave and I do them. Admittedly I forget how to do the oven one in between spring and autumn but I get there eventually.

70 I'm waiting on DD1 giving me ideas for her "main" present. In previous years she's had theatre or concert tickets and she did mention a National Trust or English Heritage membership for this year. The tickets from last year are still unused and I don't know if they'll have to postpone the show again and she's not happy with a membership that won't include castles and houses as well as gardens so she "having a think". How many days in the calendar do you think you'll need?

pussycatinboots · 25/10/2020 09:02

Crazy I've been a "nice wife" this morning Grin He's had a bacon butty and a brew.
fluffy Charlie was absolutely hyper this morning. He was calling me and running around bouncing of the walls.
Lovely day out there, really sunny with a beautiful blue sky and "fresh" or cold in the shade I'm off to fill up the bird table.😁

WreckTangled · 25/10/2020 09:09

I had to change the kitchen clock and dd changed the sitting room one. I also had to change the one for my insulin pump. We always switch the cooker and microwave off at the switch so don't need to worry about those.

Dd is going to a friends today I'm going to take her in a minute when I can be bothered...

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2020 09:10

Boots, it's definitely 'fresh' here! I'm glad I have thick gardening gloves!

I've got my onion sets and garlic to put in today. Plus I have more clearing to do. Thankfully I can see that somebody beat me to it and I'm not the first here as the gate is open. Hurrah, saves me a job!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/10/2020 09:18

Woolly I might be up to 24 actually , I have the H&B one that I'm taking about 16 out for DD (some are more suitable for my skin, ) . I bought 2 things yesterday (DD was with me so I know she wants them) and I have some nail products .
JUst need to decide on the 24th one and usually on the 1st I do a skincare set to start the month off nicely .
I've ordered ribbon so I will ba them all up.

I woke up in the night and threw up , not anything bad I'd eaten but I think it was too rich for my belly . Good job I rolled out of bed first , I'd put my lovely new bedding on Xmas Smile
I woke up at 6am ( 7am IRL) my DC are still asleep (Lazy Toads) but DS was up late gaming .

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2020 14:38

I'm exhausted. I've weeded a large-ish area and put my onions and garlic in. I still had some half slabs so put a path in to make beds I can access from the sides, reducing how much I have to walk on the mud from now on.

And all that took 4 hours, so it was time to come home! (I did top the bird feeders up too; they love sunflower seeds and the robin food.)

I still need to chop the fruited raspberry and blackberry plants back and weed my bit too wild bit at the back. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Oh, and clear the squashes out!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 25/10/2020 15:20

Well done Fluffy. I find the meal worms and the fruity suet go really well.
Did you know there is talk of Tier 4 for Liverpool which may include restaurants and non-essential retail? It's on the Echo website.

NerosFiddle · 25/10/2020 15:27

Boots what's the difference in tier 3 and 4? I thought the English system only went up to tier 3.

I forgot to say yesterday that I ordered my turkey and ham from the butchers. I'll buy everything else from Sainsbury's.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/10/2020 15:29

Weird, as our numbers are falling across Merseyside and rising in most other places! It does smack of some form of punishment; creating a new tier just for us. 😡

Well done, Neros! I do like a bit of Christmas planning!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 25/10/2020 15:38

Nero It does only go to 3, so it's speculation at the mo.
fluffy You're right. Halton got sucked in for nothing and Warrington who should have been in were left out. There's little point in engaging with politicians in their Westminster bubble. They give no 💩💩 about anyone, especially the "north" or Northern Ireland, Wales or Scotland We're all heathens or celts or druids Halloween Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 25/10/2020 16:02

Well done fluffy! I have just come in from planting more bulbs, slowly getting there though still lots to do.

That cats are shouting at me as they think it is 5 and therefore dinner time.

pussycatinboots · 25/10/2020 16:12

most That was my problem this morning, even though I explained it to them yesterday...🤷🏻‍♀️😾

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/10/2020 16:40

Xmas Grin our cats have slept, sighed and looked equally Judgey and (in their opinion) hopeful yet starved .
There is no way on this green earth that these animals are starved .
Peckish might cover it .

They have doubled in size (Winter Fur , they say . Not Winter Fat )

apumpkinaday · 25/10/2020 18:57

Hi all, sorry I haven’t been on. We said goodbye to my grandad yesterday in our own service for him at hime (me and the DC). I’ve been feeling a bit tender the past few days so wasn’t on here as much
