Evening!

New thread here. Probably not needed until tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting.

Don't forget: Booths' Christmas ordering goes live tomorrow, so food porn will be online to view!

Boots, get your Cumberland PiB ordered!

Crazy this is my breadboard. I did exactly the same as you - put a scorched saucepan down on the board. I could have put the pan on the worktop so I did the less expensive option in my opinion.

CrazyBaubles · 22/10/2020 22:31

I don’t even have that excuse woolly because again as DH pointed out I have 2 of those cast iron saucepan holder thing on the worktops, one either side of the cooker. I just had a moment where my lack of common sense effected my judgement 🙄
Never mind - I’ve already reminded DH of the time he was washing up and grabbed the ladle with soapy hands and ended up smashing a window. He lifted it so quickly it slipped straight out of his grip and he practically threw it at the glass!

puss I’m so glad it’s not just me that does the silly thing then swears while trying to fix it!

9 Weeks ( not 9 1/2 Weeks that was a dodgy old film from the 80s ) Xmas Wink

I need to up my game here , I have Things To Organise !

Plan to take my PFB to Costco tomorrow , he can help me choose things and push the trolley .
I'll buy some J2O and hide it in the garage away from the prying eyes .

And of course I can look at their Christmas decorations Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2020 06:34

Morning!

No run today. It's forecast heavy rain at a time I'd still be out, and I'm not taking that risk! 😂 I'll clean the kitchen instead, which is my new Friday pre-work task. I do the bathroom at lunchtime. Gets it done and out of the way!

Actually...it sounds like it's raining now, so good choice not to consider running! 😂

I got my flu jab money back, which is quite efficient really.

Crazy, did you manage to book one yet?

I have Why's birthday present on the way to me, so just the parents' gift cards to go and the photo calendars and I'm done! We'll do the calendars this weekend and post a parcel down to Why to distribute. 😂🎅🏻

Morning all. Sounds like I will be Postman Pat Fluffy 🤣 It is pouring with rain here. Not happy about going to work. Would they notice if I stay in bed?

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2020 07:21

Have a duvet day, Why! You deserve one.

You can delegate distribution to others! I'm sure Auntie W will share some of the task for that side!

I made jam from my boozy raspberries (from my strained raspberry vodka!) last night. I don't think it tastes any different, but at the temp jam needs to get to, it's likely all burned off anyway!

WreckTangled · 23/10/2020 07:35

Dry here and no rain forecast today which is good. We're getting the 10:30 train. I'll be sure to share lots of photos!

WreckTangled · 23/10/2020 08:23

Just cancelled our hotel. Then rebooked it for £40 less Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2020 08:37

That's a proper bargain now, Wreck!

Is that because a London goes into Tier 2 do you think?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 23/10/2020 08:39

Probably a mixture of that and being very last minute

pussycatinboots · 23/10/2020 09:09

Wreck More jam than Hartleys 😁😁well done!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/10/2020 09:30

What a bargain Wreck.

BiddyPop · 23/10/2020 09:51

9 weeks?! EEEEKKKK!!!!

I got my knitting out last night for the first time in a fortnight. I think I'll just finish current scarf and then sew in all ends, that's it. And finish current XSt, and put backs on the ones that are done. Then see what other time I have left. RNLI shop closes at lunch on Wednesday so I didn't get my cards before lockdown, had to order online yesterday instead (shop not reopening until early Dec at earliest).

Sitting with a HWB on my belly, as guts totally twisted up, I've been awake since 2am and up since 4....this day will drag for sure (and I have a meeting at 8.30pm tonight, that I need to attend ...at least it's zoom, so I will probably hide wine in my coffee mug...it's a Friday).

pussycatinboots · 23/10/2020 10:11

Biddy I hope you feel better soon. Flowers

CrazyBaubles · 23/10/2020 10:26

Fluffy my flu jab is booked but not until the beginning of November so another few weeks

Nice saving there Wreck. Have a great time!

What meeting happens at 8:30pm on a Friday Biddy? That's so unsociable!

I have a department party type thing at 1 on zoom or teams. Dreading it - I don't get how it's going to work and I don't know anyone really so it's going to be awkward. Hoping I can now out between 4 and 5.

Lockdown starts at 6 and DH has decided he'd be better doing the food shop on his way home today than trying to do it tomorrow. It's going to be manic I think so no doubt he'll be stressed when he gets home.

NerosFiddle · 23/10/2020 10:59

Morning.

70 df doesn't drink alcohol so stocks up on J20 around Christmas as a treat to himself.

Crazy a work zoom party sounds awful. Food luck Grin

Biddy I'm sitting with a HWB too. Get well soon.

Wreck a bargain!

Fluffy how much boozy jam are you making? If there's any going spare 😂*

RM have gone on strike here so that's the post pushed back even longer.

BiddyPop · 23/10/2020 13:18

It's a Scouts meeting tonight for all Leaders in our Group. None of us are going anywhere.....

I know someone asked the other day about my wardrobe pantry - it's my spare stash of storecupboard items for lockdown in case we couldn't get to the shops, and I just kept it relatively stocked since Jan/Feb - but I need to reduce it again and just use up what's there as even at the worst, we could get out and buy food. Mostly boring things, but there is a bag of biscuits to hide from DH so we would still have a few treats....

WreckTangled · 23/10/2020 13:41

Found a Christmas tree!

Countdown to Christmas 2020 (Thread 12): the one where all of the GHs have finally arrived!
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/10/2020 14:03

Wreck is that one that is about IRL or the one you're planning on buying? Xmas Grin

Costco was busy , no big bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk .
Didn't look at the decorations because they shifted them to near the tills and the queues went quite far back.

Had to buy DS some take out pizza to keep him quiet .(He's easily bribed Bless Him Xmas Grin )

I joined a Webinar Training yesterday 7.30-8.30 . Good information, some CPD , keeps the ole' grey matter ticking over .

lachy · 23/10/2020 14:56

All this talk of costco is making me want a slice of their pizza!

Will arrange a trip over just as soon as we've moved...

NerosFiddle · 23/10/2020 16:25

I've never been to Costco but I've heard good things about their cakes

CrazyBaubles · 23/10/2020 16:46

Thanks Neros. It wasn't so bad in the end - had a drink or 2, a quiz and a chat to a few people I've not spoken to before. Felt a little put on the spot but it was al over by 4 so I got off lightly I think!

That makes sense Biddy - my first thought was that it was a work meeting which would just be ridiculous!

Nice tree Wreck - that's the first one this year isn't it?

I've never been to Costco but I think my friend has a card so I'd like to go at some point when this Covid madness is over

So work is done for the week, I've had 2 drinks and walked the dog. Now trying to clean up a bit before DH gets back with the shopping. Dreading what he's going to buy - he goes a bit giddy at the end of term which usually ends in either going out for food or buying random treats (could be anything from cakes to gadgets to lamps / cushions) 🙄

pussycatinboots · 23/10/2020 17:25

Crazy Chopping boards? Pans? Wink
Glad the party went well. It sounds like you managed to retain your dignity 🥴🍻 🤦🏻‍♀️
I've never been to a Costco either.
I made Sausage Casserole for lunch with tons of buttery mash. I'm stuffed.

WreckTangled · 23/10/2020 19:54

Wouldn't fit in my bag 70!

Crazy yes first one I've seen. Oxford street had their lights up but not on.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2020 21:05

Neros, I made 3 jars. One can have your name on it if you like?! I'll even throw a chilli jam in if you like!

I've been to Costco once. I wasn't amazingly impressed really. Most things can be bought more cheaply elsewhere. The enormous tins of tuna have comedy value though!

Ace tree, Wreck! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Crazy, what did your DH buy?! Surely he's home? Xmas Grin
