No holiday in October half term as we usually do has meant I've started shopping so much earlier. I will admit I spend a lot on my children. We have no family/friends so buy for nobody else.
Hopefully we can get ideas from each other.

Nothing today but I fell down a rabbit hole of Christmas bedding from next after seeing it on another thread and am now contemplating if we need some here...I know dd would love some of the fleece / teddy style ones but I think it could be fun for me and dh too. Think I'm losing the plot this year....

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 23/11/2020 15:50

@caperplips it’s been that kind of year, hasn’t it! I think Christmas bedding is lovely - if we hadn’t already spent quite a bit on new bedding this year I’d probably get some.

caperplips · 23/11/2020 15:55

@HollyandIvyandallthingsYule it sure is that kind of a year! We've never had Christmas bedding before and dd is a teen now so I don't know what's come over me! I'm also contemplating a hot chocolate bar in the kitchen, I might need an intervention to save me from myself!!

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 23/11/2020 15:57

It sounds perfectly reasonable to me! But then I’m a Dane and ‘hygge’ is in our bones...Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

My last Christmas present delivery arrived today. Anything else (and there isn't much) can be picked up easily locally even accounting for lockdown.

DD's 18th birthday is this weekend (29th) so we will be putting the tree up as is tradition. She likes it up for her birthday.

I'm hoping she will accompany me to choose some window lights a light up star or tree etc but walking 200 metres seems to be a bit much for her since hitting her teens. 😂

Perused the toys in Lidl, intending to buy something for DS because DD has so much more than him (which is mostly fine because he's a baby, but I was feeling a little guilty). Came away with a playmobil jail for DD 🤦‍♀️ did then pop to home bargains where I picked up a Vtech plane for DS though.

Wrapped OH's presents and have possibly gone a bit overboard... oh well. I do need stocking presents for him still though and am struggling for inspiration!
