No holiday in October half term as we usually do has meant I've started shopping so much earlier. I will admit I spend a lot on my children. We have no family/friends so buy for nobody else.
Hopefully we can get ideas from each other.

Ive also bought our cats the jml flipping fish thing, they're so hard to buy for. Perhaps i should start a thread 'what to buy for hard to please cat in your life.

I also bought in Aldi whilst shopping
3 x reusuable colour in t shirsts (mermaid, dinosaur and superhero)
Gruffalo dobble
Strech armstrong Scooby doo
Pack of choc stirers (DH is having one as we speak)
I was debating the white wooden advent calander but left it and regretted it, i also had my eye on the Christmas felt tree/angel set.

RickOShay · 07/11/2020 11:00

Grin @Mrsfussypants1
That is one of the funniest things ever, thing is I know exactly what you mean. I’ve got the dcats a substandard stuffed mouse from B and M. I’m now going to google the flipping fish.

FixItUpChappie · 07/11/2020 15:29

Bargainous hype backpack with 50% off thanks to bargains thread.

My boyfriend is getting my cats the flipping fish too because he's a big softy 😂

louise4745 · 07/11/2020 16:18

Today I've bought

3 weighted blankets - I felt bad buying these for Christmas so I've given them to them already
2 Christmas jumpers
Matching pjs for me and the kids
A few schleich dragon / mythical creatures - Dd is 10 husband said she's too old but she's only asked for these a weighted blanket and laptop.
Vanity case and hairbrushes each
Boy lol with the video game thing
A 3D globe puzzle
Lego dots
Top trumps
BathBombs
Reece's and Kit Kat advents
Roblox adopt me and lemonade stand figures

I've realised I've spent £450 on my youngest so I'm going to ask family (brother or sister) if they would like to give me the money for something as I usually chose what they get.

Holothane · 07/11/2020 18:13

Ive brought the flapping fish for our in-laws cat, .

redmimi · 07/11/2020 19:33

@MadeForThis thanks! I will have look at those.

I'm also tempted to get the flipping fish for the cats!

MsMiaWallace · 07/11/2020 19:36

The Simpsons vans for DS. They're the new range out but good sale on Zalando.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/11/2020 20:18

Ordered from Smyths a little soft bodied baby doll for Gdd who’ll be nearly 12 months at Christmas. Nowt else.

Re chocolate bombes, our milkman brought a catalogue of ‘festive food’ the other day - inc. chocolate bombes with marshmallows - singles or 3 in a ‘cracker’. There’s even a vegan version. The brand is Cocoba.

Must remember to order for Gdcs.

Fryingpan1990 · 07/11/2020 20:25

A couple of hours ago I bought DD a Duracell 10050mAh portable power bank.

I didn't know what brand to get but Duracell is a trusted brand and definitely safe.

pinkksugarmouse · 07/11/2020 21:28

Dearest cat is 18 but has never shown the slightest interest in toys even when she was younger. But one a day she bizzarely has a funny five minutes running backwards and forwards and chasing... nothing. 😂 So I don't get her Christmas presents, she won't eat treats or even cat food now only free range organic chicken breast.
But I love the look of those flipping fish, I can see that most cats would really enjoy them.

pinkksugarmouse · 07/11/2020 21:29

That should say once a day, she does it once a day, every day.

SplunkPostGres · 07/11/2020 21:35

Lush Christmas mini bath bomb set

Pokemon Pikachu Christmas PJ set - George at ASDA

Holding out for most stuff to see if there are any Black Friday discounts. I’ve only bought stuff so far that I know won’t be discounted i.e independent toy retailers and Lush never does Black Friday. Hoping to pick up a bargain for a Bluetooth speaker.

Ellapaella · 07/11/2020 22:07

3 x chocolate advent calendars for my 3 boys
1 X traditional advent calendar for all of us
A fortnite rucksack and Spider-Man PJ's for DS3

caringcarer · 07/11/2020 22:47

I bought DS 14 a large cricket net, bowling machine and balls suitable for machine. They were not new but lightly used second hand and we had to travel 104 miles in hired van to collect. Cost £330 + van hire and fuel. We will also have to take down large climbing frame, swings and slide and have a concrete strip diagonal in back garden. Then get frame and nets set up.

For stocking
M&S dressing gown
Box of 6 kookaborough cricket match balls
Selection box
Torch on headband
Socks
Pants
Chocolate orange
Lap tray personalised
Shower gel X 2
Electric shaver
2 X jogging trousers
Tub of sweets
Pencil case + pens/ruler/
Chemistry top trumps
Periodic table duvet

I don't usually spend anywhere near this amount on main present but it has been a dreadful year and he can't go to cricket ATM and who knows how long before it will be safe to go again.

4 adult children all having money. 1 ds will put towards new X box series X, 1 ds new graphics card and dd will put towards holiday when safe to go.

They have stockings too.
Shower gel X 2
Socks
Pants
Chocolate orange
Car cleaning kits
Car air freshener (Star Wars)
Sweat shirt
Marvel T shirt
Selection box

Dd new electric toothbrush

Got DH electric snuggle blanket

caringcarer · 07/11/2020 22:48

Also got 2 new really nice dog baskets with tough vynal on bottom.

caringcarer · 07/11/2020 23:01

Aldi do vegan marshmallows and DH loves them.

caringcarer · 07/11/2020 23:11

Also got my sister a cake turntable and mini sugar Holly leaves and red berries for cake decorating and Holly cupcake cases. ( She will probably make me cupcakes).

OohKittens · 08/11/2020 09:20

@caringcarer the aldi vegan mallows are brilliant unfortunately they aren't a regular line though. We are all vegan in this house (lifelong for the animals) you can get the American dandy ones in asda now for £2 and m&s do their own.

I ordered a Brio train set for DS MONTHS ago which was due to be dispatched no later than 31st october. They emailed on 31st October to say they hadn't yet received them from the supplier, and emailed again on Friday to say the new expected date is mid-December 🙄 So I've re-ordered that from Amazon instead.

My Matalan haul arrived yesterday and one of the candles is smashed - I'm not having much luck at the moment!

Going real life shopping tomorrow (I haven't been able to leave my county for ages, I'm very excited!) so will hopefully finish off gifts, other than the zoo I'm making for DD...

snowmanshoes · 08/11/2020 11:06

I’ve succumbed and ordered the ring fit adventure game for the switch and one night werewolf game too - they’ll be something to do over Christmas anyway!
Also ordered eldest some tracky bottoms that I think match her requirements (really baggy at the top but go in slightly at the bottom but not too much - must have a wide ankle cuff and a really secure tighter waist that won’t budge Hmm) as you can imagine I’ve made sure they can be returned after Christmas!! She’s looked and looked for what seems like months for the perfect pair so I had a look and fingers crossed they are! They’re an extra really anyway and she’ll use them as loungewear if not suitable for ‘public viewing’ Grin

@Suzi888

A flying Hatchimal fairy Asda doll house and furniture One of those weird LOL ball things better be something good inside for £25...Confused Lady bug PJ, Lady Bug dress up Masha and the bear house Disney Ariel doll

Wondering whether to get a ‘present pet’ but the pet itself seems a bit lame...

Depending on the age of your child I recall DD being happy with an old fashioned style walking, yapping toy dog. I had one when I was a child. Some of them flip too.

It would certainly be a lot cheaper than some of the current fads. You can get toy running hamsters in balls too.

There are vegan chocolate covered ones in Holland and Barrett now. Not much good for toasting but yummy and I usually don't like marshmallows.
