New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

Poor you Fluffy I hope you (and the crying child) got back to sleep.

I'm on the station run this morning. DH usually does it while I drag my sorry carcass out of bed at a more reasonable hour but he has been very inconsiderate and has an 8am meeting to dial into. He'd probably be home but all it takes is a slight delay. So I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed 🧟‍♀️ and raring to go.

WreckTangled · 09/10/2020 07:22

I feel you fluffy! Luckily I slept through last night.

Might pop into John Lewis to look at the Christmas bits today.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 07:40

Everybody else got back off to sleep, yes! I'm not sure when I did. Maybe 5 or so? 😴

DD wasn't properly awake, but knew that Mouse had gone (he's The One!).

John Lewis felt really muted when I was in Liverpool last week, Wreck.

Sorry you've had to do the station run, Woolly. How inconsiderate!

77 days is eleven weeks Xmas Grin

Thankfully with a 20 yo (nearly 21) and an 18yo , no crying children looking for toys but occasional loud XBox interactive game challanges ( from DS)

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 07:51

Morning.
Stumbled out of bed about 20 mins ago. I never normally sleep in late (and after 7 is late for me).
70 I heard that phrase on TV a few days ago - I think it was "can't find his arse with two hands, a map and a compass" Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/10/2020 08:13

Xmas Grin pussycat "Bum with both hands" is a lovely Glasgwegian expression of my Dads ( arse would be too coarse Xmas Grin )

It would be pronounce Bum wi both honns

lachy · 09/10/2020 08:23

Good morning lovelies.

Not only do I not know what day of the week it is, I don't know my own name some days.

I've woken up with sore throat 😫 so have swapped my second coffee of the day for a lemsip.

We're edging closer to exchanging contracts on our house sale, and I desperately want a date for completion and moving. Getting Christmas ready and moving ready is quite stressful Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 09:00

I hope you get to exchange soon. I hate waiting for that to happen (I had a buyer pull out the day before exchange once. Bastards).

I've had a sore throat for a while too. I've no idea why, but it's annoying!

At least we know it's Friday today. Whoop!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 09/10/2020 09:13

Woohoo for it being Friday - this week has been long.
I slept really badly last night, kept waking up and struggling to nod back off. Only plus side is I've discovered that you can do puzzles online 🙄 However, I kept waking DH with my fidgeting so we both got up late this morning and now I'm a bit flustered because I have too much to do.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 10:19

@FireflyGirl

I have also discovered that apparently I just wasn't at home at the right time for the great Goose Passover! There have been hundreds today, I've heard them going over as I have the windows open.

DS was nearly late for school as he was so fascinated he kept stopping to watch them! I had to take a photo so he could show his teachers (I emailed it to them).

Guess what I heard at about 11 last night?

A goose. Honking. Just the one.

I didn't dream it as I woke DH up (we went to bed early) to tell him Grin and he heard it too.

He said they follow the railway tracks...Hmm

WreckTangled · 09/10/2020 12:51

I just nearly had a car accident with a buzzard. Blood thing swooped out right in front of me! They're massive too, had to slam on my breaks.

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 12:57

Wreck that was lucky...it would take a lot of explaining to your insurance company.

WreckTangled · 09/10/2020 13:36

Cheesy Christmas film on! The Christmas wedding planner, who's seen it? Crazy?!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/10/2020 13:43

Oooh Xmas Shock Wreck I don't know if buzzards are protected and you'd get arrested by Bill Oddie if you killed it ..........!!

The Lakeland Christmas catalogue has just landed in my sticky little hands ...I know it's the same as online but but I like the feel of paper . I'll be randomly marking off things to buy .

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 14:33

Buzzards are enormous, aren't they?

Stray geese are hilarious, Fire. Poor thing must've got lost!

70, I got the catalogue too. I'd been looking for a new bread maker all morning as ours is definitely going wonky (bread not rising and browning too much on the base, we think a heating element is broken), but hadn't thought to check there. I did check once I saw the brochure and they had the one we want (the newer version of our current one). We'd got some 20% off vouchers the other day, so I purchased it using one of those. It made it £10 cheaper than the next cheapest (which wasn't in stock anyway). Success!

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 14:55

It's gone very very dark and we've got quite big hailstones.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 17:57

Nothing like that here, Boots! The forecast keeps changing, but it's now relatively favourable, thankfully. We're going to put the washing out for a few hours. It should mostly dry as it's really breezy!

I've ordered the kids some down jackets on the back of the bargain thread and both DH and I got the Vodafone sweets which will go to Why's kids with something else at Christmas!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/10/2020 17:59

Nothing as exciting as hailstones here but had a heavy rain shower .
I had washing out ......one of our cats was lardying on the path.
Never thought to come in and say "Mum you'd best get the washing in it's going to pee down"

And because our moggies are identical I didn't check which one it was (though I suspect the female ......)

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2020 18:16

We had bouncing hailstones earlier as well, boots. Thankfully it stopped before I needed to do the school run!

Definitely feeling autumnal today! I can't fasten any of my coats, and I refuse to borrow DH's flasher mac, so I've compensated by wearing a scarf with my raincoat, but that somehow makes it feel so much more chilly!

Morrison's have their Christmas food mags in store now. I'd usually get Tesco and Sainsbury's as well for an ogle, but the numbers are going up massively locally so we've decided no unnecessary trips (and apparently picking up Christmas food mags falls into that category 😭). Hopefully DMIL will be able to pick me one up from her local Tesco! And I didn't find the online selection at Sainsbury's that exciting to be honest - was hoping for a decent vegan dessert.

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 18:19

Firefly
food-to-order.sainsburys.co.uk/
Will this do, or do you want me to pick one up and post it?

WreckTangled · 09/10/2020 18:29

Yes fluffy it was the size of a golden eagle Grin

We had a few showers here this afternoon.

I got these in home sense today for £2.99, I'm going to see if I can get more as they're a bargain. These are for DD's friends birthday.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 18:37

They're really good, Wreck. I might see if I can find some!

I think the numbers are rocketing almost-everywhere, Fire. We're doing a dash to my parents this weekend before we're banned from overnight stays outside of the area! (We stay in a hotel, which is currently allowed.)

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 18:39

Wreck I couldn't eat kittens, sorry.
I'd be fine with a lindt bunny or jelly babies though. Grin

pussycatinboots · 09/10/2020 18:40

fluffy dare I remind you to take your cross stitch? and double check everything else is in the car before you leave home

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 18:44

Don't even go there! 🙈😂

DH is chief packer of things. Gives me somebody to blame. 🤣
