I saw three Christmas magazines in Tesco earlier! I didn't buy any as I'm waiting for my GH one.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/10/2020 15:03

Morrison's Christmas food to order is online too. No Prosecco giveaway though Xmas Sad

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/10/2020 16:00

Ooh the Morrisons stuff looks nice.

Hope all went well wreck :)

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2020 16:31

Sainsbury's are winning the giveaway competition, aren't they?!

MarshmallowManiac · 05/10/2020 17:24

Evening everyone.
Morrisons food looks nice Woolly don't like prosecco anyway Grin

Thanks Biddy, good to be back. Smile

FireflyGirl · 05/10/2020 17:39

The Morrisons stuff looks good, and I like that you can filter by dairy free.

Unfortunately, that removes most of the sides as they all come with butter, which is a pain! So I'd still need to sort veggies for DH! Curse all these people wanting luxury at Christmas Wink!

How was your first day, Fluffy?

WreckTangled · 05/10/2020 18:12

Yes fluffy how was it?

I've made my own honey and mustard cause for dinner which we're having with left over roast chicken and rice. Pretty tasty.

Had to take WreckCat to the vets for his boosters. It was not fun getting him in the carrier Hmm £100 later....

ConstantlyCooking · 05/10/2020 18:21

@sueelleker Sainsbury's is offering free prosecco for early Christmas orders Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2020 19:23

Thanks for asking; it was intense with it all being on Teams! But they all seem lovely so far.

Wreck, that's a dear do for the cat, isn't it?!

Firefly, dairy free is an issue at Christmas, annoyingly.

Biddy, it sounds like your house needs a collective rest. Do you have any leave left / when is mid-term?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 05/10/2020 19:41

Pleased you had a good day. Yes it was pricey but it was annual boosters, flea and worming etc

I love browsing the Christmas food but it'll only be us so I will just cook, we don't eat loads and are on a budget anyway.

lachy · 05/10/2020 19:52

Oops.

Working late and I appear to have accidentally opened the Christmas Matchmakers.....

CrazyBaubles · 05/10/2020 22:25

Woolly your wreath looks amazing. I am envious of your skills!

Fluffy did you not have to do Teams in your old job? It's a bit of a nightmare isn't it?

Similar story here Wreck. I always look at all the food but DH is fussy so likes to cook his own turkey, roast potatoes, carrots, sweet potato, pigs in blankets and gravy so he just cook everything himself, with the exception of sausage meat stuffing and pudding which we buy in.

May splash out on a fancy starter this year though. We don't drink much so don't spend a lot to be honest, aside from the turkey.

Oh dear lachy, what a fortunate accident. Nothing to be done but eat them up now! Xmas Grin

I had a nice day. Did a very slow wander with the dog for 30 mins then iced my ankle. Bit of a catch 22 - the fresh air cleared my headache but my ankle still aches so it had to be one or the other and I needed the fresh air today quiet day in work my arse

I've spent about 2 hours on zoom with my sister, the kids and my mum.
Mum has a cold, dsis is fine but the kids are hard work and she's knackered so we popped on zoom and just chatted, watched the kids play etc. Was almost like getting together, it was really lovely but I think dsis deserves a medal, I'm tired from just watching them so I'm going to bed now 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2020 22:48

No, Crazy, there was no effort to keep us chatting at my last firm! This one is very different.

MySRA was down today, so I've only just managed to update my workplace on there. Bloody typical it crashes on the day I change job.

At least your headache cleared. Sorry your ankle is sore.

I don't know what bit me. I only noticed when I got home!

Loving the wreath, Woolly!

Lachy, what a disaster, darling. I hope you ate the lot!

Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2020 23:21

Have pored over the Morrisons food, it looks amazing Smile

WreckTangled · 06/10/2020 05:37

Crazy I make sausage meat stuffing the way my nan told me to. It's delicious.

Lachy you'll just have to buy some more. Orange ones next time.

I've got a busy day at work today and haven't slept well as I can't keep my sugar levels up. So annoying. I've been eating haribo all night.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/10/2020 06:05

What is the situation with your ankle crazy? What treatment are you being offered as it affects you so much Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 06/10/2020 06:42

Morning! No run today as it's soaking out there and rain / puddles leads to wet trainers which in turn leads to blisters.

Another day of Teams meetings today!

What a pain about your sugar levels, Wreck. Does it happen often?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 06/10/2020 07:03

It has been recently, I keep reducing my overnight insulin but it's not making a difference Hmm will try again tonight but I can't reduce it by much more. So strange.

CrazyBaubles · 06/10/2020 09:22

Morning. It's cold and drizzly here. Work is full on this morning but I've been distracted by the squirrels in the garden (2 so far).

Wreck I don't know much about sugar levels etc but is this something a dr could help with? Will low blood sugar effect your concentration etc today?

most I have phone consultations with a physio and exercises to do, including a rubber band thing to add tension.
It's so frustrating - I did loads of physio and built up how far and fast I was walking on it and it was fine for a month or so. I have no idea why it's suddenly playing up again - I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary.

I've been thinking about Christmas dinner - maybe I'll try and make some stuffing this year. I don't do any cooking because DH likes to pretend he's a chef DH does it so maybe my contribution this year will be red cabbage (with balsamic & apple), cauli cheese and stuffing.

BiddyPop · 06/10/2020 10:12

DH does the stuffing in our house and has an annual phonecall to DMIL on Christmas Eve to remind himself how to cook the sausage meat (boiled in a pot with the onion....). I look at the M&S book yearly and then we do the same as others - order nothing as we do it ourselves. I'm sitting with Delia's classic Christmas on in the background as I work this morning - DH is gone to his actual office for the first time....

There was lots of panic-shopping at all the toy shops yesterday, just in case we were locked down. But Govt decided that the entire country would go to the same level that we are already at in our area (level 3) and not all the way to level 5. My only panic was to buy a teapot (I needed one this week as my old one spouted a leak in the spout last week - and I was NOT facing lockdown without one!). I bought a bunch of flowers as well, partly to cheer us up and partly to support local florist.

I'd better go and do the job I need to finish this morning though....

NerosFiddle · 06/10/2020 11:18

Morning all.

I had to go for a test yesterday but it thankfully came back negative this morning. I got the test at 10am and results were emailed at 2.15 this morning. We've had very high numbers so they've opened two more testing sites.

Crazy and biddy I've taken over from my dgranda making the stuffing. It's a stuffing loaf and it's one of my favourite things. I make one for a dinner at the start of December so I can get into the swing of making more.

Wreck I'm no expert but have you significantly cut down on carbs recently?

Biddy I can see level 5 coming in a couple of weeks. I'm hearing rumours that when we're going to have our circuit breaker (which is the same thing)

WreckTangled · 06/10/2020 11:58

Yes Neros but that's shouldn't make a difference to overnight really, it does though but not this much. Crazy not really it's one of those trial and error things. I'm fine now it was just over night.

Just got back into the office. Need coffee and food!

WreckTangled · 06/10/2020 15:35

Eugh my chin is covered in spots from this morning. I've just booked a massage and facial for next week Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/10/2020 17:53

I saw a formation of geese this morning ( I hate geese with a passion but I love to see them in flight . Especially if they're noisy )

Ordered a new coat for Winter - has to be down/feather free , no quilting , no fur , not a parka .
Got one from Next so i'll try it on later and ponce about . Last year I actually fet cold enough to wear a winter coat
