New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

Stop being rude about my 'nips! The cheek! Xmas Grin

pussycatinboots · 27/09/2020 14:34

Don't blame me that you grew an alien!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 14:54

Even if I did grow an alien, which I concede I may well have done, it is still not polite to comment on the beauty (or otherwise) of things what I have grown! 😂😂😂

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 27/09/2020 15:38

I'm astonished that you have taken it so personally. 😂
It was a general comment and not pointed at you initially even if you do seem to have an ability to turn growing a normal vegetable into some kind of mutant artform. What the hell are you putting on them? Dolly the 💩 😉

CrazyBaubles · 27/09/2020 15:43

Is that a garland most?

Same as most here Fuffy, scary as the chart is, it's a challenge in a good way Xmas Smile
Which one are you getting?

Well done Woolly. One of the many reasons I love this thread!

I've just had a lovely lunch. DH has gone to FILs but I've stayed home because I'm still sneezing etc and FIL is paranoid - although I'm 100% certain this is just a cold, I don't want to stress him or have him faffing over me.
I dug out a cottage pie from the freezer - made with sweet potato and carrot mash on the top. Added some veg and gravy. Lovely.
Now having a festive hour. I'm going to read the Poncetastic thread then spend some time online Christmas shopping Smile

WreckTangled · 27/09/2020 16:01

Sorry woolly I was having a nap but yet it was thank you. I'll message you now..

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 16:38

They were organic seeds that DH got me, Boots. And you don't put 💩 on them as they don't like it. I literally sowed them, left them, dug up an alien! 😂😂

Crazy, neither DH or I can recall the pattern, so it'll be a nice surprise. 🤣 It's wintery though.

Is the pattern in tiny font? I do hope not. And hopefully my JC ones have prepped me, as they're quite fiddly go follow.

My eyesight has improved since last time. A benefit of ageing, apparently (where 20/20 vision people go long-sighted, short-sighted people head back toward 20/20).

Your dinner sounds lovely, Crazy.

I made brownies and I've made pastry for mince pies too. I'll complete the pies after dinner. 😋😋

They'll all go in the freezer for Christmas. With the sausage rolls from yesterday.

It is yes crazy, it will go along the top of the big TV unit/toy storage we have.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/09/2020 18:49

I got the Good Housekeeping Christmas Collection (£6.99)

All recipes (unlike the Dec magazine which will at least have fashion I won't wear and all the taste test foods .

I do like the look of a flakey pastry with an almond filling ( no-one else would though so I might make a really small one for me )

I'm going to start looking for presents when I have some leave for DH birthday . I can dump him at the gym (his choice ) wander round then meet for lunch.

I don't grow any vegetables , I;m sure my cats (who use a tray) would "help" by fertilising the soil . ( I didn't mind the guinea-pigs improving the grass , but not the felines )

lachy · 27/09/2020 19:13

I daren't buy any Christmas mags this year. DH raised his eyebrows at my Delia book.

Apparently we're supposed to be

"decluttering! we're not moving with loads of crap"

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 19:24

I went and retrieved my Sainsbury’s magazine (I had to argue to get it as some thieving git took it, so it wasn't back in stock).

I do need the GH one though. Annoyingly, I didn't think when I was next to Smiths earlier.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 19:32

Not wanting to enable anybody here, but you can buy the GH one from Hearst with free postage!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 27/09/2020 20:26

I blocked the aisle in Asda this afternoon doing my slack jawed gawp at the Christmas mags 😂 I didn't buy any, obviously.

Dinner tonight was a triumph, if I have to say so myself. The Pain au Chocolate bread and butter pudding was amazing.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 20:30

It sounds divine, Woolly! Was there custard?!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 27/09/2020 20:39

Oh that sounds delicious!

I've just spotted a Harry Potter advent calendar on M&S. I'm tempted but I suppose she doesn't need it and would be just as happy with a pound shop one...

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/09/2020 20:45

No custard. That would have been gilding the lily 😂

FireflyGirl · 27/09/2020 21:38

Good Housekeeping Christmas Magazine from Hearst.

They are also offering £3.40 cash back through TCB, so I've chanced my luck🤞

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 21:40

Me too, on the cash back front. But I have the premium account, which is £6.60!

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 27/09/2020 21:49

I thought I did, but I've just checked and all of my payments are pending so I'm still 'Classic'!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 21:52

I'm not convinced they'll pay me to take it! 😂

Evening everyone.
Went shopping with my DD it was her first wages for a while so we might have indulged in some retail therapy and a peanut butter frappacino Grin Went to Asda today and they only had the 24 toilet rolls, the rest of the shelf was totally bare.

Thanks Mrs it is good to see them settled, and with such a lovely partner too. Smile In London where I used to live they are now between 2,000 and 2,500 a month. Where we are now they are between 1,000 and 1,200 a month. It is so hard for young people to get onto the property ladder.

Sometimes get nosebleeds too Crazy when blowing my nose too much, sure I burst a blood vessel or two. Grin Your cottage pie sounds fab.

Morning!

I should be going for a run, but I'm not sure I will as I have a massive blister on my little toe after wearing my boots yesterday. I'm not used to footwear!

I'll see how I feel when my trainers are on!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 28/09/2020 06:42

Morning.
That sounds sore, fluffy. It looks like we've some frost on the cars, it's probably just moisture but I'm not going out in the cold to find out. 😁Need to go out in the car today, it's not moved since Tuesday. DH said he might walk from town, so I can drop him at Tesco. I think Charlie has just woken him up by jumping on the bed. 😹 oh dear.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2020 06:44

Yeah, I've not gone running. The blister is as big as my toe! I'll pop it and put a plaster on, I think.

Alarm clock Charlie?! 😂
