sorryiasked has reminded me that last time I was in Home Bargains I saw geomag bind bags for 99p and a couple of small sets for 3.99. Nice for stockings if dc already have some.

They also had a GOT Mega Construx set for 3.99.

SodOffCovid · 02/08/2020 07:17

@Gooseysgirl best of luck with Uni. I apologise if I have come across snobby or something, I'm on maternity so trying to save as much as I can too and am new to the board, working my way through the bargains and getting my head around shopping so early!! I need as much time off on mat leave as I can with little one, especially now because of covid...im not thrilled at the prospect of him starting childcare in the middle of all this.
I'm dead excited about getting my Lisa angel parcel, I managed to get £200 worth of stuff for £40 ish across a couple of orders and it's covered off a hell of alot of Christmas and birthdays up til around April now with the Dr Botanicals order, which is helpful when I won't see a pay cheque til way into the new year and stupidly have my car tax, insurance, service in Feb 😬
Needless to say I will be shopping EVERY year early now as I can't believe how much money I've saved to previous years which has taken me months to save for or recover from.... Its a whole new way of thinking! I've already put a reminder in my calendar for the typo and Lisa angel sales for july next year Grin

SodOffCovid · 02/08/2020 07:21

If anyone is stuck, one thing I do every year now is a photo box calendar for the grandparents from the kids. I spend a little time picking out a picture from each month from the previous year so they can look back, so a goofy easter egg hunt one in April, santas grotto in December etc etc and they usually have atleast 70% off in November time, and very fast print and delivery time. It usually works out about £3-4 a calendar and they are very good quality in my opinion. You can chose the colours, fonts, patterns. The grandparents LOVE it.

Tigger83 · 02/08/2020 07:27

Free delivery on Molton brown today for 1 day only.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/08/2020 07:48

Just a quick tip, use the freetiles app for a free photo tile each month (i have them for home but would make a nice gift!), also there's free photo books, free cards app. All give you one free each month for the cost of postage. Often the photo book upgrades to hardback, they are small but nice for grandparents or stocking/secret santa - im doing one each for my girls with photos of them with their friends.

Plenty of time to do a few for gifts if you start now!

Also keep an eye on facebook for bargains - I've got my daughter 4 ever after dolls for £5, 4 brand new lego brickheadz for £10 ,(usually that each!) and a few dressing up costumes for a fraction of the price new. There's often groups for specific things - disney, lol, funko and lego are ones I've been part of! I bought lol dolls for £2-5 each and just rewrapped in tissue paper and previous empty balls.

pink I think it was that asked about buses, have you seen the happyland double decker bus? My dds loved that and its the most popular vehicle at the preschool I work at! Thinking of gifts has reminded me of the beautiful bunk bed I wanted for my girls that looked like a double decker bus!!

Just had a look on the national trust for Scotland website and they have a pretty good sale some Harry Potter, David Wallims stuff, but also some cute dog bits and if anyone is into cashmere scarves the discounts are great. www.nts.org.uk/shop/

sorryiasked · 02/08/2020 08:03

Further to my other post, Amazon have got discounts on several of the geomag sets inc classic confetti 50 piece set down to £18.80, classic glow 22 piece £8.09, and good savings on the mechanic sets.

Bluewavescrashing · 02/08/2020 08:24

Lisa Angel order done. Particularly pleased with the black marble hip flask (teacher gift 😂) and some nice party bag fillers for DD's party. Bargain!

sorryiasked · 02/08/2020 08:25

Set of 12 non-Lego mini animals - good for advent calendars or stocking filters?
Hopefully the link will work but if not search: Kids Toys mini Animal Building Block,12 pcs Construction Toys set

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 02/08/2020 09:00

Hi everyone, am I doing something wrong with the Dr botanical hand cream? Does the code work with the £4.99 ones? When applying the code it says that the code isn't valid with the items in my cart. Has the code expired? Thanks for help.

tinyradish · 02/08/2020 09:04

I've missed the Dr.Botanicals chat in this thread! There's a 30% off code 'beauty30' which works. Delivery is €5 though.

Methenyouplus4 · 02/08/2020 09:08

Thank you but Dr B code didn't work, presumably as not July. Hopefully some more bargains will pop up there. Loved their soaps and rose oil for the face.

SodOffCovid · 02/08/2020 09:08

@Marypoppinsisnosaint I think the code must have expired on Friday night as it was a July code. I tried to order some yesterday and it did not work

MissRabbitIsExhausted · 02/08/2020 09:11

@Redwinestillfine

I'm on the lookout for my generation style dolls if any bargainous deals are to be had
The Argos Chad Valley Designafriend furniture fits these dolls too, so it's worth keeping an eye on that too. I know they had a lot of it in their clearance but might not be much left now.
Marypoppinsisnosaint · 02/08/2020 09:14

Awww thanks everyone I did think I'd missed it with it being a July code. Never mind, I subscribed and have a £5 off code but again it must be over a certain amount as I tried to order 2 and or wouldn't let me use it but I could with 3. I think I'll wait I'm on no rush for any. Code for £5 off is news5 I think you'd have to be a new customer though. Thanks again

sorryiasked · 02/08/2020 09:20

Worth looking at the museum shop sales for slightly more random / unusual items for those hard to buy for people:

tate
natural history museum
national gallery (inc some beautiful but not so cheap glass baubles)

PinkDaydreams · 02/08/2020 09:31

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts thanks for the happy land bus tip! I’ll keep an eye out on it price wise, love a bargain! Grin

£11.50 duplo back

Mommabear20 · 02/08/2020 10:06

Hamper filler ideas most appreciated!!!

Every year I do joint couples hampers for my mum and her partner, my DH Parents and his Grandparents.

No particular theme (mainly Christmassy bits) I try to do a mix of treats (food) and other items, but last year I realised that it was mainly food and would love to have some more variety in the hampers.

Our budget for each couple is £40.
Any ideas?

Myhouse2011 · 02/08/2020 10:36

@Mommabear20 I do the same.

I include crossword books, pens, tea towels. I’ll try to think of some other items I’ve put in.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 02/08/2020 10:37

Joining you for this year's bargains! (Namechanged a thousand times since last year)
I started this week with a Lisa Angel order so thought I should dig in here as well!

SodOffCovid · 02/08/2020 10:41

@Mommabear20i just brought some mini water bottle from typo for similar gifts. Everyone using them now!

superstar84 · 02/08/2020 10:50

Thanks for the duplo alert, just ordered one

noodledoodler · 02/08/2020 12:03

The JULY70 Dr B code still works for me and the 4.99 rose cream offered as an add on when I put items into cart. I am following my e mail link from them though, but worth trying again?

noodledoodler · 02/08/2020 12:04

Ah, hang on, its discounting the full price items but not the hand cream
