My dd has been after a "real flying owl" for the last couple of years... these are down to £15 in the entertainer but the pink one is £12.50 on amazon

icedaisy · 26/07/2020 08:45

@SodOffCovid great, I was delighted with them.

Elpheba · 26/07/2020 08:47

Ewock I’ve sent you a pm with a magformers eBay link- just in case you didn’t mind second hand!

StealthNinjaMum · 26/07/2020 08:53

Thanks for starting this thread op. I think i’ve been in these threads - under different names - since reastie did the first one about nine or ten years ago and a lot of my best presents have been bought from this thread including the liberty scarf that I bought exmil. She still really loves it so thanks to the person who recommended that about six years ago!

Anyway I got divorced and instantly halved the presents i have to buy. I mainly need things for dc now who are pre teens so getting harder to buy for.

I haven’t read the full thread but have had emails this week from both aspinal and Swarovski who have some good bargains. I will be buying myself a half price Swarovski bracelet for the Christmas season even though I probably won’t go out much.

Focusanddetermination · 26/07/2020 09:03

Thanks for the Argos tip off.
I got Yahtzee for £10, Magic Kit and Bath bomb set for £15
This would total up to around £50 on amazon, very happy.

TheGriffle · 26/07/2020 09:19

What age would you say the Usbourne jigsaw books are good for? Tempted for my 3 year old nieces/nephews but not sure what age they would be good for.

RJnomore1 · 26/07/2020 09:22

Morning ! I don’t post often any more but the good housekeeping 3 issues for £5 deal is live now and the first issue you can get sent is October meaning you are guaranteed the Xmas issue.

www.hearstmagazines.co.uk/good-housekeeping-magazine-subscription-email?utm_source=ghk-data&utm_medium=email&utm_term=control-lapsed_eff2&utm_content=hero&utm_campaign=solus&MSGNM=GDH_M_20200721_control_lapsed_solus_eff2&m_i=B6i2sjtYRr0mcDFvqlX0_mbog03rXX0bAGxbCX3dh2D3%2BxCX7OpOcymoRztUvkccHaS0Ku5PnyPvOzZ__e7HmFgdeIiZbA

Just remember to cancel after the payment comes out so the subscription doesn’t roll over at full price.

Hot Wheels Set down to £15.99 on amazon. There's some sort of no rush discount too but didn't investigate further.

@TheGriffle It depends on the child. I have a nephew who is 3 and will sit and do them and loves them. But also have a 6yo ds who moaned so much when I wanted to do them with him and made it much more painful than it needed to be.
unkindnessofravens · 26/07/2020 09:45

This is a bit of a random one - DS3 loves pretending to paint and decorate (I blame lockdown DIY) and has asked for a paint pot, roller and "steps" for his upcoming birthday. Don't suppose anyone's come across a role play set that fits the bill?

Tamtam86 · 26/07/2020 09:51

Not strictly bargain related but I have seen a few of you mention using the Santa's bag app, but it doesn't look like that exists for Android Sad can anyone recommend an alternative?

TheGriffle · 26/07/2020 09:52

Thanks @Dk20 I might risk it for my youngest niece. She’ll be 3.5yo and is quite a placid little thing.

SodOffCovid · 26/07/2020 09:52

I have gift list @Tamtam86

Bluebell9 · 26/07/2020 10:03

The aldi baby and toddler sale has some lovely toys and puzzles for little ones today.

Spam88 · 26/07/2020 10:07

Just had an email to say there are further reductions at accessorize, might be worth another look.

Ewock · 26/07/2020 10:27

Thanks everyone for your help, I've picked up a couple of bits and got a jigsaw and book for each of my kids. Can't believe how much I have saved by the amazing bargains you have all found. We had a tough year last year with redundancy and are getting back on an even keel but any savings we can make does make such a difference. Someone may know the answer to this but do Amazon reduce their kids tablets? We were looking at getting our son one last year but couldn't justify the price, I'd love to get him one this year.

BadgerFace · 26/07/2020 10:37

@Ewock I think the Kindle Fires tends to be reduced in the Black Friday sales (but hopefully someone else can confirm!).

Ewock · 26/07/2020 10:50

Badgerface thank you. I'll keep an eye round that time

Bert2020 · 26/07/2020 11:21

@margaritasbythesea the no rush amazon saves you £1 if you aren’t in a rush for delivery, I think they then send when you’ve other orders/orders in the area. We don’t wait long at all.
@Ewock definitely worth waiting until Black Friday, they’ve been on offer each year.

sorryiasked · 26/07/2020 11:42

@Ewock just to make you aware with the kindle fire - you can't use Google play store, only Amazon app store. This turned a bargain into a nightmare as DD wanted several games that weren't available.

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 26/07/2020 12:33

@Tamtam86 I also use gift list. Simple but east to use.

woodwaj · 26/07/2020 12:44

Another vote for the gift list app on android!
