Woolly, I've got 500g dried yeast from eBay. It was £10.40 which I didn't think was too bad. We have two sacks of flour in the hall now too.

It must be so hard re the GCSE / A Levels. I don't envy teachers like your DD.

Wreck, what cocktails are you getting? I'm glad it's not looking like CV-19 for your uncle.

Mrs, the pollen count is quite high, so it's probably hayfever.

Well done re the flour hunter gathering! Fluffy Grin
I agree it must be hayfever l have not been anywhere or seen anyone except Mum Bob and this lot of vagabonds her for nearly 5 weeks Grin

WreckTangled · 23/04/2020 22:08

Fluffy raspberry mojito and English garden.

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2020 22:19

Very nice Wreck Smile l'm not jealous Envy Grin

pussycatinboots · 24/04/2020 05:38

Woolly My seed potatoes were a disaster. I've got Morrisons Baby Potatoes chitting in an egg box on my downstairs loo window Grin They already look healthier. Go for it, even if it's only one pot.
Flowers for your friend.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 06:40

It includes the Veg Trug that DH has got me boots and the vast amount of compost that requires as well as a tomato growing bundle, some lawn seed, some toys for DS, some growing canes and a new watering can as our old one has finally given up the ghost. I didn't get any plants as I have all the veg I want and I will wait until the winter to plant some more soft fruit bushes for next year :)

Daffs look fab crazy :)

Hope your uncle is going ok wreck?

So glad it is Friday and get two days of not juggling work and everything else after today. Need to get a meal plan and shopping list done as have a shop arriving on Sunday.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 07:10

After my last batch completely failed to germinate I have woken up to 3 savoy cabbage seedlings and 9 broccolis :)

pussycatinboots · 24/04/2020 07:43

most excellent germination newsSmile
Will Mr Grumpy be assembling it? If so you'll need Wine ...for you obvs Grin

WreckTangled · 24/04/2020 08:25

So pleased it's Friday! No work, housework and washing then sitting in the garden. Dd has some school work to do (she's getting quite a bit Hmm).

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 08:25

Ha I might have to assemble it although if he is grumpy about it he might buy me another one...

Mrsmadevans · 24/04/2020 08:46

Morning everyone 😀
Off to see to Mum & Bob in a bit . Need to take prawns for his cats 🙄😁, washing from Mum's to Bob's to dry on his line and the lamb stew l made yesterday for their dindins 😋
Hope everything is ok with us all 🙏💗

Morning!

I did a dash to Farmfoods this morning and stocked up on butter as it's only 99p there! Even though it's a smaller pack than supermarkets it's still loads cheaper.

I also got a load of other cupboard stable bits to keep the rolling store cupboard going!

Yay to germination, Most. My beans (runner, dwarf and climbing French) are finally germinating though my squash don't seem to be. I struggled with squash last year. My courgettes are 10/10 and my pumpkins are doing well too.

I need to do more peas once I've put the next lot in the ground next week. I'm waiting for some netting to arrive which will hopefully be soon.

I must ask the allotment society if they have any canes and I also need more compost from them too.

We've ordered a chippy for tonight. Our local has re-opened so I ordered with an Uber Eats discount code last night to collect later on. DS will be so excited. He was crying the other night as he 'wants to go to a cafe and the supermarket'! Poor sausage. He's bored with the choice of home, the allotment and scooting round the park across the road.

Great growing going on fluffy! My DS is struggling too with not being able to go to the park, swimming pool etc. It's hard for them :( I'm really hoping that after this 3 weeks they consider reopening play parks and just requesting that people stay as far apart as possible.

Hope you have a good day Mrs :) Lucky cat!

pussycatinboots · 24/04/2020 10:27

most clever, very clever Star You need to encourage DS to ask Mr Grumpy for his own Trug Wink
Mrs ours are having prawns today as a treat! even though they are slowly demolishing the house and ripping each others fur off
They're not spoilt really...Blush
fluffy I'd love a chippy tea anything to get me out of the sodding kitchen We're having quiche and salad again. Could you build DS a little den in the back garden? Or get the kids to practice their maths/handwriting with a stock take of your kitchen cupboards?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2020 13:10

Boots, there's been plenty of den-building going on already. They're currently doing something with the Duplo (Batman / Christmas set mash up!).

Prawns? For the cats?! They're very spoilt indeed! 🐱❤️

Putting DS in the kitchen would be bad. He'd just want to eat everything! 😂😂

He's OK in the main, it's just getting to him every now and then.

Most, I don't think play parks will be open due to infection risk. The virus can live on metal for days, so it's not just the social distancing which is a concern. It's rubbish for little ones though, isn't it?

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 13:31

It is indeed fluffy! I am noticing that the street outside our house is getting increasingly busy both with people and cars so I think people are really struggling.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2020 13:58

Yeah. I agree, though it's hit and miss here a bit. Sometimes I think it seems to be dead, in comparison to normal, and other times really busy. Aldi seemed busy today, even with the outside queue.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2020 14:09

It's meant to rain next week so maybe that'll stop people going out?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2020 14:14

Our forecast is still showing potential rain, but with a less than 50% chance! I do hope it actually chucks it down though!

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 14:15

Rain would be amazing! The garden and allotment are gasping for it.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2020 14:17

I've just checked the met office and it's only showing 10% 🙄

The dc are doing forest school Monday and have the sports coach on Tuesday so they'll be kept busy.

pussycatinboots · 24/04/2020 14:19

Letting DS see and then eat the contents of the kitchen was a v bad idea - sorry. Grin
The cats have had some prawns - I've set aside enough for a sandwich each for tea (for us) so they shared the rest tilly ate nearly all of them
I'm not entirely sure lockdown is still working around here. The roads are busier, the shops are busier, there are more people out for a cycle/walk or playing football boredom/fatigue is setting in Sad

pussycatinboots · 24/04/2020 14:42

Wreck I think we can all guess when you will get rain Hmm

Depending on the source, we will get rain hurrah on Mon, Thurs and Fri or Sun and Wed or none at all Confused
DH is still squirting water everywhere with his hose every evening Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/04/2020 14:45

TMI boots Grin

I am using the used paddling pool water to water the garden in the evening and our allotment has a constant water supply thankfully but a watering can just isn't the same as a few solid hours of rain unfortunately :(

NoWordForFluffy · 24/04/2020 15:00

I'm doing the bare minimum at the allotment with cans to keep stuff alive, Most. We have 2 cans and it takes at least 4 trips to the tap to do that little amount. It's exhausting.

Hopefully it won't rain heavily until I've finished digging plot 2. A little rain would make it easier to get my fork in but too much would make the soil too heavy! It's a fine balance. 😂
