Sorry to hear about your bad night wreck :(

We really could do with more rain fluffy!

CrazyBaubles · 08/04/2020 11:00

Oh Wreck are you feeling any better now?

I have a work team meeting via zoom in a minute - I've never used it before so that'll be fun Grin

Weather seems ok here. Clear and bright but with a nip of cold in the shade. I don't mind - I'm pale and burn in even the slightest sunshine (which is why I hate summer).

No plan for today except the zoom meeting and sorting through some old paperwork that I stuffed in a box at some point and forgot all about

WreckTangled · 08/04/2020 13:34

I'm ok thanks just tired. Might have a nap.

Hope the zoom call went well!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2020 13:38

I hope you're feeling better now, Wreck.

I've been to the park so the kids can scoot. It wasn't that busy considering the lovely weather. And I've almost got the kids fully-social distance aware so they know to move away from / not get close to people.

I'm just trying to work out my best tactic for this afternoon to get the best use out of my 3 hours. I've not been told the official out of office message or had official confirmation of furlough yet, so hopefully they come soon!

WreckTangled · 08/04/2020 13:41

It's been cloudy here all day but I'm pleased because I'm not up for being out. The dc are playing nicely in the garden.

I hope you get things sorted soon fluffy it's annoying not having anything official.

CrazyBaubles · 08/04/2020 14:07

Zoom call went well. I've realised how much I miss my team, they're a really nice bunch.

Wreck I'm glad you're feeling better and Fluffy I hope you get something official soon!

I forgot to say earlier, I bought my first Christmas present yesterday 🤶🏻 it's a collectible ornament, a Christmas edition. I found it on eBay last year but it was going for £30 which was too much. I spotted it again yesterday for £10 including postage so snapped it up. DH thinks I'm nuts though Xmas Grin

I'm worried about puss - I hope she's ok

Mrsmadevans · 08/04/2020 14:53

Afternoon everyone 😃
I have text Boot on her Mobile , hopefully everything is ok 🤞🤞🤞🤗💐🌺
Wreck oh Gosh l hope you are feeling so much better now bless you 🧡🤗🤗
Crazy glad you got on ok with the Zoom call 👏🤗
Fluffy hope you have the furlough sorted by now , the trip to the park sounded lovely. This good weather can stay as long as I likes 😄😄😄

dyscalculicgal96 · 08/04/2020 16:48

Considering buying a Christmas tree next month. My youngest will be 11 months old then what toys do I get her?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2020 17:12

Furlough sorted. I'm now off for at least 3 weeks! 🌞

I hope you hear back from Boots, Mrs.

Well done on the present, Crazy. Well found! 👏

Definitely buy a tree in summer, @dyscalculicgal96, they're cheaper. And 11 month olds don't care. A box and wrapping paper if my kids are anything to go by!

It's been gorgeous here. It'll probably turn shit from tomorrow!

Fluffy Nothing so far from Boot Sad
Glad your furlough has been sorted Grin
It gives excellent weather for the next 14 days on the weather predictor for our postcodes, fingers crossed Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2020 19:19

Well, I'm not glad exactly as it leaves me down by £500 a month. But now I have the letter to email to places to beg for payment holidays, so I'm glad of that.

I hope we hear from Boots soon. I'm so worried. Sad

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/04/2020 19:49

A walker type toy gal? I don't think you can beat the old fashioned wooden ones with the blocks in.

PJMasksGhekko · 08/04/2020 19:54

I'm worried too, I hope her Dh is ok.

I'm undecided what to do, I have £1000 saved for a holiday next year, obviously if we want to still go then I carry on saving, or do we say bugger it and buy some things we need, new garden furniture, new tv stand etc, I'll have a think because the kids were so looking forward to go away next year, (spain for a week AL)

WreckTangled · 08/04/2020 20:03

I'm going to try my very hardest to save for a holiday. I don't know if it'll even be possible to go abroad or if the costs will be insane but the thought of going away with the dc is keeping me going right now. Dd wants to go to cocaine in Mexico. Think she got the name wrong Wink Grin

I really hope everything is ok with boots Sad

Fluffy I hope you'll be ok money wise will you save on travel at all?

PJMasksGhekko · 08/04/2020 20:48

Cocaine Mexico is brilliant Grin

Will see what the prices are in a couple of months I think.

FireflyGirl · 08/04/2020 22:31

Dd wants to go to cocaine in Mexico Maybe your DD got the destination mixed up with how she was planning to raise the money to go, Wreck Grin

That'd save her having to go into school after Easter as well. I admire a woman with a plan Wink

The papers have been saying hols will be cheaper as the travel companies try to recover, but I can imagine once lockdown is lifted the whole world will want to get away! We had been planning to go abroad for the first time since having DS at the end of the summer holidays. Oh well.

Fluffy I don't know whether to commiserate or congratulate you. Hope you get your payment holidays sorted. Is your DH likely to be furloughed as well?

Congratulations on finding your bargain present, Crazy. Your DH won't be complaining you have saved £20!

FireflyGirl · 08/04/2020 22:39

I'm really hoping that the weather holds. DS is living his best life at the moment. This was our walk in the fields at the back of the house. It's the furthest I've walked in 3 weeks, and I felt it in my legs Blush I've only managed 6000 steps, where normally even on a sedentary day I'd do at least 8000. Can't really be helped, I suppose.

Yesterday, DS decided he would only get dressed if he could wear his superhero outfit. I agreed. He then said he was only going to wear his superhero outfits forever. We compromised that (1) he can wear them if they are clean (he only has two), and (2) only until he goes back to school.

Speaking of, does anyone else wonder if they'll decide not to bother reopening the schools until September, or if they're planning to shorten the summer holidays to make up for lost education time?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2020 23:00

Firefly, DH works VERY part time but won't be furloughed. He doesn't earn enough to pay anything towards the bills. I pay EVERYTHING. As in all of it. Therefore it's a massive issue for us. If I can sort a couple of bills we'll be alright for a month. Longer than that? Fucked, depending on how credit card companies behave. We shall see!

I won't save on travel as I had an annual pass which ends next month and I'm still paying for! Typically!

Your DS sounds like he's having fun. Ours are enjoying being outside too. They seem like they're having a good time in the main.

I think back in Sept, Firefly.

I'd think about a holiday (maybe without cocaine!), but who knows which firms will still exist next year. I'd wait for now.

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/04/2020 06:25

Meant to be 22 degrees here today and tomorrow so getting the paddling pool out!

I think September too fire. I don't think they will be able to shorten the holidays as teachers are still working and are heavily unionised. Lots are working over Easter and will probably work May too so will need their summer holiday.

CrazyBaubles · 09/04/2020 08:03

Cocaine in Mexico sounds... interesting Wreck 😂

PJ are you likely to be able to replace your savings in time for a holiday if you spend them now?
I have the travel bug badly and prioritise holidays over a lot of things so I may not be the best person to ask!

I've just cancelled a trip to Liverpool that should have been at the end of the month and have contacted about the Harry Potter play too as my ticket is for the start of May.
We have a holiday to Italy booked for August which I can't see happening now and flights to Prague booked for just after Christmas. We book on credit card for extra protection but not sure how much we'll get back off those.

Love the negotiation about the superhero outfits Firefly Grin

I don't think they'll shorten school holidays but I know DH is definitely hoping schools aren't shut until September.

Fluffy a friend of mine has been furloughed. She spoke to companies about pretty much every bill and they have all accepted reduced payments or given holidays except for her car insurance so hopefully you can sort everything out.

The weather looks lovely outside (although I've got back into bed with a cuppa).

WreckTangled · 09/04/2020 08:13

My sister has halted all her bills for three months too but obviously they will still need paying back afterwards. Sorry you're in that position fluffy.

Firefly it's so nice to get outside your ds sounds so sweet. He might be a bit warm in his superhero outfit today?!

I slept all night for the first time in ages so am feeling good.

I don't know about schools. I don't think even the government know. I suppose they'll be closely watching what Spain and Italy do but I don't think it'll be a good idea to send them back before September. Although my dc are going back after Easter.

Morning!

It's started grey here, but I imagine it will burn off. We're attempting the greenhouse again today as apparently it's not going to be windy!

I need to go and pay a cheque in first, and I'll get some bird seed in Wilko while I'm out too. Can't have the birds missing out! I might buy double to get me through so I won't have to go for a couple of months then.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2020 08:16

I might take all payment holidays I can get, but pay the amount I can afford instead of what is due as the terms do say you can still make payments (as in they won't remove the payment holiday from you).

I'm fine this month, so will get on it before I get paid again.

I'm a less-than-happy bunny that work won't top it up to be honest.

OP posts:
PJMasksGhekko · 09/04/2020 09:05

Morning, no I won't be able to afford to top up any of it that I use, so I'm going to leave it for now I think.

Went and got my prescription, it was for my pills, they said they were only going to give me 1 months supply but I got 3, so I'm happy with that.

DD2 has finally learnt how to swing herself on the swing, so she's been out in the garden loads, it did have a slide attached to it but for some reason the dog didn't like it, so it's been taken off!!

Cherryrainbow · 09/04/2020 10:39

Morning! Lovely and sunny here in Swansea but still cool. Taking advantage of good weather by doing laundry and using the washing line.

Going to have a nice chill day I think, or try to anyway :)
