I love your budgie, Crazy!

I've been and weeded my strawberry patch and it's amazing how dry the ground it already, especially since it was so wet only a few weeks' ago! It's making it really hard to dig the new plot over. I harvested some rhubarb while I was there (not too much, I don't want to stress the plants out), so we are having apple and rhubarb crumble later on.

The BBQ isn't happening due to wind levels, sadly. It's not a 'sit out and eat' temperature with the wind chill.

We can't get shopping deliveries from Sainsbury's. Probably because of our town's demographic. I can sometimes get a Morrison's one if I stay up late, but otherwise it's a C&C (if I stay up) or going myself.

Some garden centres are delivering, Firefly. Might be worth a little look.

There is NEVER too much alcohol in the house. Ever!

Thank you for the love for the budgie! I'm working on his wings now.
Woolly it's embroidery thread I'm looking for. If you have some I will be happy to pay for it - I raided the leftovers of my cross stitch kits for the blue, black and grey but don't have a single strand of yellow anywhere in this house.

MrsMad & Firefly my hay fever is off the scale too - not helped by us having the windows wide open all day though.

Also, we have a 4 shelf, full to bursting booze cabinet Blush because we get bought a lot of bottles. We are whisky and rum lovers so it's an easy present.

MrsMad I love a trifle. Makes me think of my nan, my mum and Christmas. My nan used to make hers from scratch and use food colouring in her custard so it was sometimes yellow, sometimes pink, often green or purple Grin. My mum does the birds one and I love it just as much - dad, sister and I argue over who gets the last bite 😂

PJMasksGhekko · 05/04/2020 20:53

Evening, work is done until Saturday, those masks are so hot on your face!!

I got all of the dogs bedding done today as it was lovely but very windy.

Mrsmadevans · 05/04/2020 21:13

Mum and Bob slept for three hours this afternoon after they ate the trifle Grin Grin they loved it , sometimes you just want a bit of retro familiar comforting food don't you Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/04/2020 22:08

Mum and Bob slept for three hours this afternoon after they ate the trifle........................ Just how much sherry did you put in it Xmas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 05/04/2020 22:44

Only a little 70 but it wasn't any old sherrry , it was M & S sherry Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/04/2020 23:44

Crazy I've got a bit of bright yellow or a whole skein of a paler yellow (primrose maybe)? Not the best photo taken in artificial light. Happy to send you either or both. Please PM me your address - probably best to do it sooner rather than later as I pass the Post Office/shop on my daily walk.

Managed to book another Tesco slot. Click and collect though and not for three weeks 😭 dh will definitely have to brave the supermarket before then

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 06/04/2020 04:21

Just under 4 hours till the end of my fifth night shift this week. Back on days for a bit from tomorrow. Tonight's shift feels so long.

I have not done anything even remotely interesting to entertain you with in the last few days.

Morning!

PJ, we got 3 loads dry yesterday; it was a cracking drying day.

Mrs, too funny that you knocked the oldies out with the sherry. Grin I'm not a trifle fan (soggy sponge 🤮), but yours looked really good.

Wreck, the C&C situation is bonkers, isn't it? At least you got one though.

Is anyone watching Race Across the World? I want the mum and son to win!

I've been stitching frantically again. I actually think I might do it by Easter, give or take! Especially as there's a massive block of colour at the top. Grin

Ah that cross stitch makes me so happy. I hope this is mainly over with by Christmas.

Yes I'm pleased we've got one, I am worried they'll bring in tighter restrictions and we won't be allowed to go that far. It's 20 miles away and we do have a smallish Tesco, M&S and Waitrose closet but this is the closest for click and collect.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/04/2020 08:11

Love the trifle Grin

Can't believe how fast you have stitched that fluffy!

It finally rained last night, first time in about 3 weeks so my water butt will be happy again :)

DH is only doing 3 days of work this week and then has annual leave booked. Won't be as we planned it but at least we won't have to tiptoe around the house because he is on work calls.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/04/2020 08:34

I'm off after Thursday. Unless furlough starts before then. I need to do my work list for the next 3 weeks when I start work shortly. Then they'll decide if / when I'm being furloughed.

Here's the progress since Weds night; I love seeing the progress like that!

Woolly I have pm'd you about the thread. Thank you so much!

why I hope you're sleeping right now. The end of a row of nights is crap isn't it?

Fluffy I love Race Across The World! Funny because I like the mum and son this year and was fully on the side of the dad and son last year.

You really are flying through your cross stitch, it looks amazing and the progress pics really show how fast you're working.

I've been awake since 7 but have just lazed in bed with a cuppa, watching Greys Anatomy. I am up now though.
I have a video work meeting at 10:30 and need to look at least kind of presentable!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/04/2020 11:05

My second beach hut is coming along well :)

WreckTangled · 06/04/2020 12:00

The dc are watching home alone Grin

Really hope boots and her DH are ok

I've made cookies. Well fudged them with what I had in the cupboard. Found some flour in a kilner jar that was about six years old, it must have been SR as my cookies are now rock cakes Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 06/04/2020 14:02

Crazy, I rooted for the father and son too. Grin I must just like that kind of relationship!

And I'm impressed with my progress too. 😂 I think I'll swap to the massive chunk of blue next as then I'll gallop ahead further. The fiddly bits can wait!

I love that film, Wreck. The kids prefer 2, but they're wrong!

CrazyBaubles · 06/04/2020 21:29

Thank you so much Woolly. I've finished making the wings and am attempting to sew them on now...

most your cross stitch looks good 👍🏻

Wreck I saw the name stealing poster on another thread today. Was going to pop up on the thread as I thought it was you. Cheeky bugger!!

I think I like the calmness and wisdom of the parents against the scared, I-want-to-be-cool nervousness of the kids Fluffy.
The son last year ended as a completely different boy to the one who started out IYSWIM?

MrsMad don't start watching Greys anatomy. It's an emotional rollercoaster every bloody episode - I only watch it on my own because I cry so much Blush

My day has been hit and miss today. I've had a headache all day and ended up coming home early from my walk.
Did some shopping for my mum and spoke to her through the window. Got a bit upset because I miss being around her properly, the kids (niece and nephews) too. I'm FaceTiming daily but it's not the same.

I did call them the other day and had a fun chat. Eldest nephew told me how bored he is, is missing rugby etc, then youngest nephew (2) took the phone out of his hands and started jabbering at me (he has CP and is speech delayed so the only things I understood was 'mol' 'oh dear' and 'bamp').
He put the phone on the floor and next thing, niece (18 months) picked it up and started talking. She ran away upstairs (to my sis) and was chattering away to me, singing (she does crazy frog and wheels on the bus quite well) 😂

WreckTangled · 06/04/2020 21:33

I agree that greys is emotionally draining. I watched quite a bit but it l got too much Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 06/04/2020 22:30

Mrs I went to bed for a few hours as my sleep was bad after shift the day before.

Crazy it is a nightmare the last shift and we did not have many calls either which made it drag.

FireflyGirl · 06/04/2020 22:41

Aw, Crazy, that sounds lovely.

We had a chat with my DSis and 2.5yo DN today. Where DS is lazy laid back so loving being able to stay home all day, DN is feral much more active and is not coping well with lockdown.

DMum bought DS a swing set years ago because it was £10 at the end of summer. DS hates swings, never goes on them at the park, so we've never had it up. I sent DH round to dump it on their doorstep tonight, along with some of the alcohol he was complaining about. That's cleared some space in the garage, so cheered him up Grin. Small things!

Has anyone pmd boots? I don't want to bombard her with messages.

Glad to hear all is going well with your mum and future stepdad Bob, MrsM. And your nursing skills are obviously on top form with Pidgy Grin

Did you enjoy your cookies, Wreck?

WreckTangled · 06/04/2020 22:54

That's kind of you firefly I'm sure they'll appreciate it. I did. There's some left but won't be by the end of tomorrow as we've all had two each already I had three
