Thank you so much @YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable and everyone on this thread. As I’ve been wrapping I’ve been boring / entertaining DH with stories from the thread associated with that item. By early November I’d saved a fortune, by my last delivery today I’d spent another! But it was all a Christmas bargain thanks to this thread.

To whoever suggested buying sweet style striped bags to wrap stocking presents in with a quick scrunch at the top I BLOODY LOVE YOU! My New Years plan is to find and buy more in every size I can possibly find. But for now - IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!

I bought (as far as I can remember) turtle doves wrist warmers, a Tokyo Laundry bundle, a wooden dinosaur puzzle and elephant, some Irish Cream French fancies, a Crossly Cruiser, a cute little tree from China and, thankfully, no hamper. That's not to mention the many, many things I clicked on, hovered over, that my maternity pay would not allow me.

Thank you Reastie and everyone else! I discovered this thread in October ( or was still September?) and I’m so grateful for that. I would have never been able to find/ be aware of so many sites/ items/ ideas. In spite of my DD coming across my scrunched up scribbled list of things at some point in Nov we are going to have the best Christmas ever. No less thank you for the warm, often silly, wonderful chat. Mumsnet at its best.

I'm on the hunt now for a load of gift bags for next year when they are reduced. I loathe wrapping and for DC and DH, I can definitely reuse them

Hit of the day DS 10 a £4 spud gun. DD other end of the scale with an iPad. The £12 iPod rips are very successful too.

I did more watching everyone’s lovely interactions and high spirits than purchasing thanks to the ongoing job uncertainty and it really made the months up to today bearable.
