@PhannyMcNee I recommend these squishies. My DD got them back in July and they’re still going strong. Amazon squishies

Lidl did have some pesto dispensers in and packets of pez sweets.

@NerosFiddle Morrison's has Nineteen Crimes Shiraz and Campo Vejhco Rioja reduced to £5.99 (and if you have Amex, check for an instant cashback offer) both of these are a really bargain (£11 usually) and good crowd pleasers for a party.

@Christmascookiesmmmm thanks so much for the jigsaw advent calendar link. I’d seen it before but assumed it was a piece per day so just a 25piece jigsaw. But £3.50 for a lovely 500 piece set is a real bargain

@Christmascookiesmmmm thank you - have bought the advent calendar for my mum for next year! She puts together awesome calendars for my children every year, so it’ll be great to give her this in return!

Nerosfiddle just nip into the off licence bit of the supermarket and look at ones like Shiraz or Merlot - doesn't have to be top shelf (and therefore most expensive) to be nice, but I'd avoid the bottom shelf and the cheapest ones! If you're in Tesco or Sainsbury’s there are own brand "finest" ranges that are nice, but don't overthink it. and buy two as they won't only want one glass

Does anybody have any ideas for my BIL new girlfriend. Mid twenties, under £10 if possible. My minds gone blank on possible gifts.

@Christmascookiesmmmm - there are quite a few on amazon by Gibson’s that are nice. My DS is a jigsaw obsessive so got him a few of the 500 - he is 7 and it’s taken him a few days so not too complicated. Lots of nice 1000 as well.

Does twitching for next year's Christmas presents count or is that classed as being organised?

NerosFiddle I really rate the Aldi Torro red wine. The bog standard is about £4 and they do an organic for about £5 and superior one for £10.

@Spartonian I am looking for presents for dc. Their birthdays are in June. It's getting risky though. Older one might go off Lego by then. I will have a look after Xmas what the sales bring.

Love the jigsaw advent calendar. My local charity shop has lots of jigsaw including some brand new ones, still in the cellophane wrapping, so might be worth a look?
