Just twitched on the Birchbox deal... Oops!

GymSloth · 30/11/2019 15:35

Can anyone advise on photo books please? Dd loves writing stories and so I thought I'd try to turn them into a little book for her. Does anyone know the best way to do this? I'm guessing I could make a photobook but with text rather than photos? Anyone know if this is possible? Ideally I'd like it to look as much like a 'real' book as possible.

torthecatlady · 30/11/2019 15:42

My Birchbox order came today. Quite pleased with it. Don't forget to cancel (if you don't want to continue) because they charge for the next box on the 1st I think?

@GymSloth yes you can - lots of them have text templates for pages you can type up her stories into. If she has illustrated them then take pictures of the illustrations and add them too. Or take pics of the page she was written the story on.

If there’s lots to type up I’d suggest typing it up first so you can copy and paste to the book rather than type in directly. You can format the text in the book usually though.

I’d also make sure there are pictures of her in the book too - if any link directly to her stories have them in there too and candid shots of her writing or off to school (to write)...

Most of the major photobook makers are much of a muchness. If it’s a brand you can pick up in store that can save on paying (expensive!) postage that can help on price. At least make sure you include it in your calculations!

Some photobook companies have software to download and you upload your project at the end. Others you do online - pros and cons of both methods! Also some let you buy a credit if you’re not ready to make it there and then - make sure you can do it before it runs out though!

Hi, are there any M&S codes at the moment please? If so I'd be really grateful for one. I gave mine all away and now typically have found something that I really need!
Many thanks

BarkandCheese · 30/11/2019 16:51

Thanks to the person who flagged up the Hearst magazine beauty boxes. I just ordered the Red one for my sister, 46% off, came to £35 with no p&p.

A word of advice for anyone else ordering one, don’t tick the box saying it’s a gift unless you want it sent to a different address or to your address but someone else’s name. If you do tick gift it’ll force you to fill out the alternative details before you can check out. I had to start the whole process again to be able to check out with my name and address.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/11/2019 16:51

There are big boxes of Green and Blacks in Booths for £9. They're bigger than the Tesco bargain box.

It's this one.

They had a fair few food and drinks offers actually.

MyFriendKimberley · 30/11/2019 16:51

Request please:

Does anyone have any codes or vouchers for Charlotte Tilbury? Happy for a referral (if they have a scheme, as I'm a first time shopper).

Any money off would be greatly appreciated.

Someaddedsugar · 30/11/2019 17:03

@MyFriendKimberley they have 30% off one some sets at the moment if that would help? Or if you sign up to the mailing list you get 10% off.

MyFriendKimberley · 30/11/2019 17:09

@Someaddedsugar Typically, none of the reduced sets are on the recipient's gift list. I hadn't spotted the mailing list discount so thank you for that.

Worrywart21 · 30/11/2019 17:22

For any fortnite players, I bought this for my DS

2000 vbucks plus neo versa skin £9.99

It’s usually £8 for 1000 vbucks

Worrywart21 · 30/11/2019 17:25

Forgot to add - it’s a code so I’m going to print it and put it in his stocking.

Tiredmummyof3 · 30/11/2019 17:34

@eastmidswarwicknightnanny that sounds amazing! Did you actually buy a car or just test drive? Wondering if they give the best presents to people who buy cars.....!!

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 30/11/2019 17:47

The Birchbox deal looks great 🤓 I would love those boxes and use the contents

Is the deal still available or was it just for Black Friday? I’ve never subscribed to Birchbox

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 30/11/2019 17:48

Also I’m looking for classic Christmas cake toppers if anyone has seen nice ones?

Raindancer411 · 30/11/2019 18:02

The mini sphero I ordered for my son turned up today. If anyone's kids are into coding it looks good as well as being used in other ways. £26, so didn't seem bad on amazon.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/11/2019 18:11

Hotel Chocolat voucher attached.

GymSloth · 30/11/2019 18:15

Wibdib thank you, that's really helpful. Thankfully she has already typed them up, so it saves me a job! Love the photo idea too.

LikeSilver · 30/11/2019 18:23

Has anyone seen discounted Nando’s gift cards on their travels?

EmGee · 30/11/2019 18:24

If anyone has a Boden code I would be so grateful if you would PM it to me. TIA!

Fivetoomany · 30/11/2019 18:29

@eastmidswarwicknightnanny can you link to the Audi Santa grotto or explain how to find out? It sounds amazing but can't find anything when I google Smile

blindmansbluff · 30/11/2019 18:53

Anybody need a last minute Elf on the shelf reduced to £16.99 on Amazon, free delivery with prime

Shitfuckoh · 30/11/2019 18:59

I got the same Elf pack from Matalan (online) yesterday. £8.50 which is a great price. We already have an Elf so when it gets delivered it'll have been 'having training' & will be a friend for ours Grin

Mistressiggi · 30/11/2019 19:00

The Highland Gift company have a limited amount of the £20 hampers available again. Mind you none of us have seen one yet, but there's a list of contents which does sound good.
