Thanks @VividImagination for title.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Any decent offers on cava/prosecco/champagne?

These threads have been brilliant.

ArabellaPilkington · 06/11/2019 08:09

I was about to put my card details in for a hamper and thought I'd just check the company out first. No Trust Pilot, only the FB page as pp said operational only this year, and now on holiday.

I didn't like the feel of it so didn't order.

I did order loads of ridiculously expensive candles from Jo Malone yesterday. And I'm sure when they arrive I won't want to part with any of them!

newroundhere · 06/11/2019 08:09

moobar are you in the UK? Did you pay with a Visa debit card? You should have a charge back right to get the money refunded, have you spoken to your bank?

ArabellaPilkington · 06/11/2019 08:11

Dreaming - yes!! Read a Times article at the weekend highly praising Aldi's Cremant D' Alsace. £8.29 a bottle and tastes exactly like good champagne. I've bought two for Christmas Day, will hide label and see of wine snob BIL can detect the difference!

moobar · 06/11/2019 08:12

Oh at @newroundhere I did not know that. I just thought if I authorised it then it's my fault.

Reastie · 06/11/2019 08:22

Re hampers, if you’re worried it should be relatively straight forward to cancel your order which magazine info especially as it hasn’t yet been despatched.

@Goingovertosusanshouse are you on the Argos eBay outlet? If so it should take the 20% off automatically once it's in your basket.

FallenSky · 06/11/2019 08:25

eBay Argos toys

Hair bow kit on amazon - says it's £19 but if you click on the 'buy one, take 80% of' it goes to £3something

flooredbored · 06/11/2019 08:38

Lol amazing surprise down to £92 on Amazon. Has 14 dolls including 2 of the big omg dolls.

Yeknom · 06/11/2019 08:45

@EvilHerbivore do you have a link to the hair bow kit? I can't seem to find it on amazon? Thanks!

Vebrithien · 06/11/2019 08:47

Well, I was a sheep with the hampers, and have now been a chicken, and have emailed to cancel.
Got an automated email back, saying that they are on holiday until the 18th, but they they will try to reply to emails in this time.
Will let you know how it goes.

ClaraLane · 06/11/2019 08:56

@Goingovertosusanshouse Can you give me the link for the dressing gown please? Thinking of getting one for fussy FIL!

ipswichwitch · 06/11/2019 09:07

Get a free Lego creator reindeer with a £35 spend at the Lego shop

Dolphintrainer · 06/11/2019 09:14

@Vebrithien that goes for me too. I actually emailed them last night to cancel and got that same standard email response. Made me a little more suspect as to why they’d take a 2 week break in what must be their busiest time - the busiest shopping period leading up to Christmas. Anyway, this morning I woke to a further email saying they have refunded. When I look at my bank statement nothing shows for the payment our or refund yet.

LiverbirdNo1 · 06/11/2019 09:32

I normally lurk on this thread, but just logging in to say thank you for the Argos code - the Thomas & friends superstation was £80 on the website, so the code bought it down to £64 then I was able to use my workplace reward gateway scheme to get a further £4 off, making it £60! Pretty chuffed with that as it’s my almost 4 yr old DS’s main present. Camelcamelcamel shows lowest price on Amazon was £74, so don’t think that’s too bad. The price on the Argos eBay outlet was £100 interestingly, so not as bargainous.

EvilHerbivore · 06/11/2019 09:41

@Yeknom I think this is the link hair bows

oxcat1 · 06/11/2019 09:47

@Kutsy : I have ordered [Haishell 24 Pcs Christmas Kraft Gift Bags Fox Elk Snowflake Bags Includes 12 Large 12 Small Xmas Gifts Stickers Wrapping https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JJNPVT4/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_tzPWDbKFWQB94
these gift bags] from Amazon. It says they are all recycled and recyclable, and even te stickers are paper. Reviews are good - but postage is slow! Mine haven't arrived yet but they look good value and worth a try?

Restlessinthenorth · 06/11/2019 09:48

@EvilHerbivore thank you for the hairbow link. Long deliver dates but worth a punt!

youscumbagyoumaggot · 06/11/2019 09:50

Thanks for everyone's help yesterday for DH (pages ago now!). I love the idea of the desk calendar from the kids especially but going to look at a few of the other suggestions, I think he could do with a new bag so that could be a bit of a treat for him.

I ordered a sample hamper and was going to order the mystery one but now a bit worried. Their Facebook page feels quite legit but I do wonder if a small business will be able to cope with the influx from Mumsnet!

friskybivalves · 06/11/2019 10:00

Good Star Wars Lego bargain available today on the Amazon Treasure Truck - their usual price for the massive Darth Vader Castle set is £114.99 but on treasure truck it's 43% off. Just bought it at £64.99 for my DS.

CathFizz · 06/11/2019 10:04

I also ordered a hamper, as who can complain at £12 and I do love a hamper at Christmas. I checked out their face book page just now and this is what it says (posted 21hrs ago)

40% OFF!!!
We have a small number of our Mystery hampers left to order. If you have already placed an order, you are entitled to 40% off another hamper. Head to our website and use the code HAMPER40 at the check out! Orders must be placed by November 11th at 10am to use the discount.

It does clearly say that IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER you are entitled to 40% off.

Fingers Crossed it'll arrive but I do believe they would be within their rights not to honour it as I haven't already purchased a hamper. I guess I'll just wait and see

Shitfuckoh · 06/11/2019 10:05

@friskybivalves I've heard of that before but the truck isn't in my area apparently.
Fantastic buy though, well done!

SleeptightDaisy · 06/11/2019 10:06

Regarding the hampers I've decided to cancel there refund policy states no refund after 30 days. I know I'd forget to sort out at the beginning of December and it only gives a window of 4/5 days for delivery before I lose the option of a refund.

SleeptightDaisy · 06/11/2019 10:09

@Goingovertosusanshouse could I have the dressing gown link too please I seem to have missed that on the thread. Thanks
