Stacerini welcome. What a lovely thing to do to honour your MIL's memory.
I passed two houses yesterday with fully decorated trees in the window. A bit too early for me to put mine up but it's not harming anyone so why not.
Mine will go up on 5/12. All the DC will be out and I can just crack on. DH will help with the construction and then I'll decorate. Hopefully everything will be done when the DC get home.
Emrys we were at Center Parcs for my 40th birthday when a swan decided that he was setting up camp on our front path. Every time we tried to leave the lodge he hissed and flapped. We ended up ringing security and they sent down a couple of groundskeepers in a golf buggy. Even they steered well clear of the swan and redirected it to the lake using boards that made them look like they were riot police!
Biddy if we bring in our garden furniture we could rustle up dining chairs and enough tables to seat 21. I've probably got enough crockery for everyone too although it would be spread over 4 sets (our posh set, our everyday set and the remnants of our last two everyday sets) and that would make the perfectionist in me very twitchy 🤣
I've got lists on my phone to keep track of what I've bought for the DC and what I still need to get. In the bought column it says chocolate but I've been wracking my brain to try to remember what I have as I would usually get that a couple of weeks before Christmas. I must have bought it when I was away for my anniversary but I have no recollection. Stupid meno brain.
I'm booked on a wreath making course with two friends in early December so I'm really excited about that. There was one mentioned on a local FB group but it's gone a bit quiet - if the local one is still happening then I'll see if I can make a table decoration instead.
