Does anyone have any advice on best sites/best time to buy a (hopefully less than full price) Nintendo Switch?

We've not had a console before but the kids really want one for Christmas (they are 10 and 8) and I'm pretty clueless about the best places to look...

RunsForGummyBears · 12/10/2019 15:50

@BellsaRinging thank you! Much appreciated! 🙏

Shufflebumnessie · 12/10/2019 15:59

@tinysnickersaremyfavourite thank you. I must have missed that. Your hands sound similar to mine. Sometimes they're so cold when I'm in the house that they hurt. I'm hoping the fingerless gloves might just take the edge off. For outside I wear a thin insulating glove inside a thick, fluffy pair. Even then my hands hurt with the cold. Maybe I should just hibernate until the spring Wink

Demijohn have free delivery on order over £15 at the moment - but ends tomorrow
it's a liquid deli, good for unusual liqueurs/gins/vodkas and also oils and balsamic vinegar for foodies

Great thread!
This may help those of you wondering about M&S Friends and Family codes.

Apparently they split the allocation. So, as long as you have 5000 or more Sparks points, those of you in the north will have received your codes this week.
Those in the south will get theirs next week.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 16:48

Oh, my fingers are terrible. Gloves don't really help me much at all.

I'll throw the Landsend voucher out to anybody who wants it, as Myname needs M&S!

It's a £30 voucher. I think it'll pay for your postage too. I think I'll have to use it as it's likely linked to my account as it came from a complaint, so you'll have to trust me with your details!

First one to bagsie it gets it. Xmas Grin

UrbanMage · 12/10/2019 16:51

Treated myself to some craft gin.

Question: who uses a flower subscription? Who is best to use/ value for money. Going to do that for my mum as she's a nightmare to buy for.

weebarra · 12/10/2019 16:52

Me please for lands end!

mogtheexcellent · 12/10/2019 16:53

I did Bloom and wild flower subscription for my mum one year just a bouquet a month for 3 months. She loved it. I bought it when there was a 20% off code.

EvilHerbivore · 12/10/2019 16:56

@UrbanMage I've used Freddie's flowers before and they're good, usually a code floating around

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 16:58

I've PM'd you @weebarra!

MulberryPeony · 12/10/2019 16:59

@NoWordForFluffy what a generous offer. Try Christmas spirit on this thread warms the heart!

I’ve got to move my Christmas stash out of the spare room as we have visitors next week. On the plus side they will be around for any deliveries...

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 12/10/2019 17:00

I've had 6 months bloom N wild from OH. Generally pretty good, a couple of the bouquets arrived damaged thanks to being chucked about by rm and they replaced immediately with no quibble.

NoGravyForYou · 12/10/2019 17:00

There's some Freddie's codes on the referral thread!

PlaymobilPirate · 12/10/2019 17:05

Does the m&s code work on boots? I'm after a new pair as mine are dropping to bits!

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 12/10/2019 17:06

@shufflebumnessie my problem is that if I where thick gloves outside I constantly have to take them off. To sort out things for the kids so my hands get cold anyway. I actually dreamed last night that someone had invented a pair of super thin battery powered heated gloves that workes reall well.
I also feel the cold horribly in the car, fingers often go white when driving so this week I bought myself a heated seat mat from Aldi. Made me feel like an old lady but it's sooooo nice.

weebarra · 12/10/2019 17:09

Actually @NoWordForFluffy , that is really really kind of you but I don't really need anything so I will pass on the voucher.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2019 17:17

OK. Next on the voucher?!

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 12/10/2019 17:31

Me please if it's still available fluffy?

SquintEastwood · 12/10/2019 17:32

@NoWordForFluffy it might be worth seeing if you have a local clothing bank?

We have a uniform bank nearby that distributes summer and winter packs to children via referral from Social Work/Food banks. They are currently looking for donations of jackets/gloves/hats etc and I guess you could get them from Lands End?

There's bound to be something nearby :)

Oreocrumbs · 12/10/2019 17:38

Some more M&S codes for people to use.

Oh, that's a good idea, @SquintEastwood.

Sorry to the PP who asked for it; I hope you'll agree that a charitable cause is a brilliant idea.
