@Jammiebammie I think it depends on the child if they find it to childish, some of my friends have bought for their children thats around 10ish and gotten clothes with motives their kids like. Some also get bike helmets, jackets ect. Dd1 got a bathrobe this time...

I can see most of the stuff we have received from småfolk is from their fall collection this year and last so perhaps search on the website for age and see the clothes. That I think would give a fair idea about what to expect for older children

Dd has announced, after much soul searching, that she would like the Our Generation awesome academy. It’s out of budget but before I say no I wanted to check with you guys what the chances of getting it any cheaper might be.
I don’t fancy my chances at all. I remember deals in Smyths last year on OG dolls and accessories but not on the big sets. The amazon price is substantially higher than Smyths. There’s no hope really, is there?

My Smafolk order has been dispatched, thanks so much Luxplus I'm rather excited, we had lots of Smafolk stuff when DD was a baby so I feel oddly sentimental about the brand

I'm looking to replace an old tangle teezer and I'm sure I remember seeing a recommendation from you lovely lot on one of these Xmas threads for a similar but better brush, does that ring any bells for anyone??

Barbara, those things are really huge. We didn’t have room for one (because at that price they better play with it for years) so we bought the school accessories and had stools/tables from elsewhere and used a couple of trifold display cases from hobbycraft to make our own fold away classroom. DD spent a lot of time decorating the class walls, etc and had a blast doing it. We looked up American girl YouTube videos for ideas.
