Thread 5 - The Mumsnet bargain thread - spreading the squeaky clean, ethical love!

So it’s not a thread all about ethical stuff (good grief there’s a lot of plastic tat that’s been purchased by me from these threads over the years) but with our current obsession with soap bars and shampoo bars and then I think it was fireflygirl who did the quote and it tickled me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Camden Hermes always do that with me and the following day it comes up on their system.

My dr b order came. They seem nice but not worth the rrp imo. Great for the price we got though.

Anyone having problems with Accessorize website? I code lots of lovely stuff in the sale after it being mentioned on here and now it won't let me buy any of it!

EternallyGrapefruit · 30/09/2019 20:24

Thank you to whoever recommended the Sakura boxes of Japanese snacks on Amazon... it arrived today and we are v pleased!

TildaTurnip · 30/09/2019 20:37

Character.com have a two-day sale with 20% off everything

Thanks for this. Loads of Harry Potter and Avengers stuff!

Fantababy · 30/09/2019 20:46

@Barbarara - something makes me think I saw leopard print wrapping paper in Next today. I definitely saw it somewhere but Debenhams was the only other place it cited have been.

SaveMeFromMrTumble · 30/09/2019 20:53

Me again i have just ordered a personalised National Geographic book for my nephew off of Groupon. They are normally £14.99 (the deal is only on paperback) but you can get them for £6.99 (and postage on top when you get to the site!) I attached a picture. It looks beautiful!

I am annoyed i forgot to go through Quidco for the cashback 🤦‍♀️

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts haha love that you have a Stephen the sloth, sounds like he needs a friend though! Grin (random fact, dd3 has a nostril called Steve...... #strangechild)

I’m at the point I’m stumped for dd1. She’ll be 17 next month, and I’m really hitting a blank for her. I can buy non stop for the other 2, especially dd3 but I do like their presents to be somewhat even. I don’t want to just give her money either, so if anyone has any ideas I’d be very grateful!

CamdenTownie · 30/09/2019 20:59

Thanks everyone for the reassurance re Hermes.

I'm planning on giving cleansing bars to my sister, mum, daughters and my brothers girlfriend!

Elphaba17 · 30/09/2019 21:02

Jammieammie what about some gift vouchers (cinema, Costa, boots etc) that you could put individually in little gift boxes so they looked like a present rather than an envelope. Card factory did little gift boxes last year that were perfect for that sort of thing.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 30/09/2019 21:19

Ehunt1 · 30/09/2019 21:22

Do I remember someone asking about Yankee Candle advent calendars? I’ve just seen them on Yankeebundles.com for £15 with free delivery. You can also sign up and get another 5% off with NEWSUBSCRIBER5 code.

Does anyone know if there's a Wonderbly code running at the moment? I've popped a message on the referral thread as I remember there were a few codes last year but nothing so far this year...

PinkJam · 30/09/2019 21:29

@Someaddedsugar Wonderbly 20% off code is BIRTHDAY

But be quick because it ends tonight Smile

whoknows1230 · 30/09/2019 21:29

Amazon have children's paperbacks 2 for £7 www.amazon.co.uk/gp/promotion/A3AVQM6RTRUH0P?tag=mumsnetforu03-21.

Some of the items are actually less than £3.50 but there seem to be quite a few good fiction books and activity books included.

LadyNina00 · 30/09/2019 21:34

@someaddedsugar
I had this code in my dispatch notification email from Wonderly. It's for 20% off and it is only valid for 7 days from 27th Sept. Apologies if it is tied to my account.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 30/09/2019 21:35

Jammie how about tickets for a gig? Tickets for the theatre/musical? Digital SLR/bridge camera?

They were the sorts of things DD had around that age

Gardenworm · 30/09/2019 21:55

@SaveMeFromMrTumble I can't find National Geographic on Quidco...am I missing something? 😁

SaveMeFromMrTumble · 30/09/2019 21:59

@Gardenworm sorry i wasnt very clear! National Geographic is on Groupon, you can get cashback through Quidco on anything you buy on Groupon.

I think that makes sense i can no longer see straight 😂

Someaddedsugar · 30/09/2019 22:01

Thanks for the Wonderbly 20% code!

EvilHerbivore · 30/09/2019 22:04

Anyone know of any roblox or Mario advent calendars? I have the Harry Potter Lego one for DS1 so need something as substantial for DS2 but those are his only real interests....

Blizy · 30/09/2019 22:12

Whatsername7 where did you get the scribbler from please?

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 30/09/2019 22:21

@EternallyGrapefruit which one did you get? I have the two suggested ones on my wish list and not sure which one to go for!

EternallyGrapefruit · 30/09/2019 22:31

@PaddingtonBearHardStare I got this one

Pumpkintopf · 30/09/2019 22:40

@Somerville thank you for the Oliver Bonas suggestions - not somewhere I'd have thought to look but I ended up with some nice bits for Dd from their sale. Thank you.

ChristmasSeacow · 30/09/2019 23:10

Hi, anyone know whether Links of London are likely to do any promotional codes in the next few weeks? I googled voucher codes but all the ones I found have expired. I want to get a charm each for my 2x DSis but as it’s a new design I have my eye on I can’t find it less than full price anywhere so I think a voucher code is my best bet. Any intelligence gratefully received Flowers
