Fabulous bunting Crazy

Our rain has stopped now but on the drive to the station with DS my windscreen wipers were going full pelt. I'm baking this morning for my neighbour's Macmillan coffee morning and I hope to get a couple of hours crocheting this afternoon to move on with a shawl I'm making.

I bought a beautiful handbag yesterday for Christmas for DD2. Ochre patent PVC leather. I'm usually pretty good at avoiding The Twitch but this was absolutely perfect for her.

NerosFiddle · 26/09/2019 09:55

Crazy enjoy Belfast. If you want any tips let me know.

I went to the smyths sale last night, but they were closed, although it had said that they were open till 10 for the sale.

CrazyBaubles · 26/09/2019 10:01

Thank you Woolly!
Can you post a pic of your crochet project? I love a pic for inspiration.

Neros tips would be appreciated. It's a weekend with a friend (haven't done this in years). Plan so far is to go somewhere showing the rugby and have breakfast. Black cab tour. Find a nice pub or 2 for a night out - apart from that we're sort of free and easy.
We're staying near the uni and planning on using Uber a lot!

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/09/2019 15:42

Crazy this is my shawl. It's for a real Christmas baby - my great niece is due to have her baby on Christmas Eve.

Lovely bunting, Crazy. And I love the shawl, Woolly.

Had my probation review at work today; it all went well. 😊

I'm making 4 lemon drizzle cakes tonight. 3 for Macmillan coffee mornings and 1 for us!

FireflyGirl · 26/09/2019 18:07

That's beautiful, Woolly

I was inspired by your bunting, Crazy, but am not very good at crochet, so I've gone for a 'paper chain'. I've posted it on the poncing thread.

Did you ask about your day off a fortnight, Fluffy?

DS wanted to make a lemon drizzle cake for DH's birthday, and I agreed but I was going out and got distracted in the rush, so forgot to add the flour 🤷 as you do. Was a bit gloopy Grin

CarysRed · 26/09/2019 18:12

Will catch up with you all later. But just want to say, I had GD during my pregnancy, so he was always going to be quite big. DH weight over 10lbs at birth too. So he’s a perfectly normal size considering that.

Mrsmadevans · 26/09/2019 18:19

Evening Smile
Have been mega busy today, sat beside DD1 to drive to Mum's this morning, she was very good fair dos Smile
Sorted all Mum's mobile phone contacts into her phone and deleted all the gobblydegook messages again lol Xmas Grin it takes ages lol but we were going to be there a long time because.the funeral of my Step Niece's DH was on today and we didn't go to Redditch , we stayed with Mum because she was so upset. It brings it all back to her. So we put the time to good use. Also Mum's friend's birthday today , she always sends Mum flowers bless her. Mum had forgotten her birthday and I had to arrange a bouquet to be sent to her and sort & deliver her a card. Mum's freezer box was terrible , l had to defrost & clean out the fridge & wash the kitchen floor. My Mum's bed had tea all over it so l changed the bed and washed & hung 2 loads of washing out. Gave Mum lunch , left her to go and pay for the flowers and post another card with a cheque in for her great niece's birthday tomorrow, we had to find a postbox that would be emptied today so the card would get there tomorrow Hmm. Throw out 2 huge vases of flowers and clean the mess up from that. So then l took her to leg club and then home again . We left at 3 to return in 10 mins time to take her to Dancing Hmm. So l am scrabbling on here to post my day Xmas Grin
Woolly that shawl is beautiful . l love it so delicate well done Star
Crazy have a wonderful time your weekend sounds brilliant m'dear Grin

I hope everyone has had a great day m'dears .

I’ve been lurking and I love this threadGrin can I please join?. im not usually excited this early in the year but I’ve managed to plan DH’s present alreadyGrin @Mrsmadevans thanks for the present list...I’ve been struggling with what to get for DS.

FireflyGirl · 26/09/2019 18:29

I need a rest just reading your list, MrsM Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2019 19:13

Carys, he looked way bigger than sub-6lb, not he was heavy for his age. I make them big, but they looked their weight, not a good couple of lbs heavier.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2019 19:15

Mrs, that's a list that puts Biddy to shame! 😂

Not yet, Firefly, HR weren't in on this meeting, just my manager. I'll clarify that I can now make the request another day.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/09/2019 19:35

Blimey MrsMad I hope you've got your feet up now.

I haven't done any crochet yet today - I put a load of washing on this morning and noticed DD1's bathroom needed mucking out cleaning so that started me on deep cleaning the bathrooms. So between that and baking I haven't had a minute for my crochet.

Maseandmum · 26/09/2019 19:35

I’ll add a couple of books too me thinks and some clothes.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/09/2019 19:43

Fab list Mase. Drum kit and guitar 😱😱 you are brave!

I haven't looked at the link - I still have cold sweats about the year of the desperate hunt for a pink Nintendo DS. I'm just glad my years of chasing the next big thing have long gone.

EmrysAtticus · 26/09/2019 19:46

I'm too tired to read Mrs' day Grin

Maseandmum · 26/09/2019 19:51

@TheWoollybacksWife it might get ‘accidentally’ broke by JanuaryWink.

thebendybeanstalk.com/ I’ve found this site..which has a lot of wooden and colourful stuff and educational stuff for those of you with young DC.

NerosFiddle · 26/09/2019 20:03

Crazy I like Maggie Mays on botanic Avenue for breakfast. It's a just a greasy spoon but it does a good breakfast. If you want to go a bit more upscale try curated kitchen.
I don't know what time the rugby is on at, but if it's after 11, I'd say most pubs will be showing it.
For bars, try The Perch, The Duke of York for cocktails etc. For more traditional pubs the crown is popular.

EmrysAtticus · 26/09/2019 20:16

My third one is coming along well :)

Lovely, Emrys.

I'm off cross stitch until my eye heals. It's still rather lumpy! 😢😢

@EmrysAtticus that’s lovely..I like your pyjamas tooWink

What’s the problem with your eye @NoWordForFluffy

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2019 20:53

A stye, Mase. I have to hot compress it until it buggers off, but it's being stubborn!

OP posts:
Maseandmum · 26/09/2019 21:01

They’re little buggers..DGM gets them a lot and some stay for a couple of weeks..hopefully yours goes soon
