Wreck, it's normally in the school holidays, so look out at half term.

We've got a dark chocolate orange, a little box of jelly beans and there'll be a dairy free Santa of some description too.

Frazzles, you weren't to know about it. Don't feel bad about it. We're just a little community which looks out for each other as some of us have been here a very long time!

Think Wilko usually do half price pick and mix around half term, Wreck.

We're away for Halloween as well. We've not usually bothered with Halloween, but DS is at school now so will probably know more about it.

WreckTangled · 19/09/2019 09:40

Thanks! Our nearest is half an hour away so will need to try and go on my own...

We're only going for the day. We're going to see school of rock and will visit the Waterstones in Piccadilly Circus. Hoping there might be something going on for free Grin

FireflyGirl · 19/09/2019 09:45

I imagine there will be! There'll probably be advertisements around.

That sounds like an awesome way to spend Halloween! Grin

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 10:25

Wreck I buy PIC N MIX for DH for Christmas too. I buy it half term half price from Wilkos . Stores well tbf. I put his in a big Mason jar with a spring lid on it 😁

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 10:26

Fluffy l can't believe how long we have been here . It must be 5 or 6 years ?

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/09/2019 10:37

I'm getting very excited for the Poncetastic thread. Less than a week now. I wonder who will start it?

My new cookie cutter is church shaped and I'm hoping to make some gingerbread cookies with white royal icing. I may spend too much time on Pinterest 😂

I also need to start a cake and my puddings next week. I didn't make a cake last year as I used to do one for my mum and I knew this time last year that she wouldn't see Christmas and my heart wasn't in it.

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween but I think DS will be going to a party. The local families all agree that they only call at decorated houses so we can choose to participate. DS is at that awkward age where he is far too cool to trick or treat.

WreckTangled · 19/09/2019 10:42

How long have I been here? I was spottyteacakes before...

I hate Halloween and the dc always want to go trick or treating with their friends and dd spends the whole time being too scared to knock on any doors so by going to London it means I can avoid it all Grin

EmrysAtticus · 19/09/2019 10:45

I think I am a relative youngster, only two years I think!

The cross stitch is looking fab fluffy

I am so excited for all the Christmas food to be released!

FireflyGirl · 19/09/2019 11:54

I've been on the bargain threads for about 7 years, and I think I joined the chat on here about 3 or 4 years ago. Pretty certain it was after DS was born.

I'm not even bothered about the food being released, Emrys. I just want the brochures Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2019 12:41

I think this is my 5th Christmas here. I think. At least 4!

I've no idea about you Wreck. A good while!

EmrysAtticus · 19/09/2019 14:05

Muchas gracias Peter!

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 14:12

Ohhh 😁 Saint Peter ⚜️
Think l need a St Peter of my own 😁 my DH is pretty meh today 😁

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 14:17

It all started when l told him l wanted to go to the little girls church service , the funeral in the Crem and the wake afterwards while fixing it around Mum. I guess it was just a bit too much for him to cope with 😆
I took it for granted he was like me but all he was thinking about was the first world rugby match of Wales on Mon bang smack in the middle of the funeral 🙄
I want to drive myself but he's feeling guilty now and insisting upon taking me 🙄

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 14:32

Fluffy the Matalan PJ's 🤪
I don't like them either 🙄
Massively disappointed 😏

sueH1983 · 19/09/2019 14:35

Loving the tips re Wilko pick n mix! It’s DS1s birthday in December too so i’m going to raid that for plastic free party bag sweets.

NerosFiddle · 19/09/2019 15:36

Afternoon.

I sadly, went to a funeral this morning. My cousins husband died on Sunday. He was only 46 and it was so sad. Sorry for bringing the thread down but it really makes you appreciate what we've got.

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 15:44

Ahh Nero it's so sad isn't it? My Neices DH was 46 too. Forgive m ebut the funeral was very quick. We have to wait nearly a month here for all cremation funerals. About 18 days for a burial.

NerosFiddle · 19/09/2019 16:28

Mrs, it's an Irish tradition that there's 2 nights of a wake in the house then the funeral is on the 3rd day. So in that respect it was actually a longer wait than normal.

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 16:48

Good God Nero that is very quick! I think it helps in a way because the waiting was awful every time l have lost someone.

Mrsmadevans · 19/09/2019 16:53

Woolly. l love my Pinterest too Grin
Am on there most evenings looking for Pics of Princess Di Smile

WreckTangled · 19/09/2019 17:30

Yes funeral wait ones are awful in England.

I'm thinking of applying for another job but not sure I will be able to do it Grin no harm in trying though and much more money than my cruddy band 3 wages Grin
