In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

@Sideorderofchips try Amazon.De they seem to have some good discounts. E.g. playmobil 9470 is €20 (+ €5 shipping to me on mainland uk) which Amazon is convertng as £24.64 in total. Amazon uk has it discounted to £36.89.

Thanks for the Oliver Bonas heads up, picked up quite a few bits (including the scarf and bath oil!). Think that makes me pretty much done for the women I buy for, I'll just grab a bottle of alcohol each for them probably.

My DD is pretty much sorted - we bought her a dolls house in toys r us when it was closing down so she'll have that this year. Picked her up a couple of bits for her stocking from Rex London already but she needs a few more.

So it's my 5 nieces and nephews left to buy for and the dreaded men. I'll also have a newborn (at least they better be out by Christmas!) but trying to be sensible and not buy more than a few token gifts.

I was thinking I might get some reusable stuff for the usual ‘what to get’ of aunts and uncles and cousins, like beeswax wraps etc. Anybody know any good sites rather than me just hitting Amazon? (Which feels a bit incongruous.)

@Trees2905 babipur and little footprints are online stores and seem to be run by lovely people. Last year there were some discount codes in the run up to Christmas, I'm hoping they do them again this year!

I remember it being mentioned last year, but can anyone tell me how to save my time and look for clearance items in my local Argos store? Some great offers but the ones I want are never near me!! I found a Lego Skyline of Syndney down to £11.99 but all gone. Have got a nice little ‘golf journal’ for £2.40 (also need to remind myself how to do links )

Bought this for my son who has been desperate for one since he saw it advertised on TV. It's a Gear Head toy, it has a toy car inside, it has it's own tool case, you have to open the crate, you then get a key fob and real metal tools, it was £11.99 with free delivery, it's the cheapest place I've found it.
