Afternoon!

In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips Flowers ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

Use this thread to post any bargains you may have until @Reastie comes back in a few months' time! Xmas Grin

Smallandfaraway - me too! I remember being wickedly jealous of my friend when I was little as she had a windowsill full of them and I only had one :( but it did play the Wedding March Grin

McAvennie · 06/08/2019 21:38

I’ve just ordered this scarf which has been reduced again in the sale at Oliver Bonas - had been eyeing it up last winter but for £6 instead of £35 I had to get it!

Really warm and thick, would make a lovely present.

PowerslidePanda · 06/08/2019 21:40

Th Entertainer had some bargains today when I was browsing - Happyland figure sets all reduced by around 20%, a lot of Finding Dory bits and pieces including this Dory toy for £4.99 reduced from £49.99.

A big thank you - my DD adores Dory and will love this!

NeitherNowtNorSummat01 · 07/08/2019 01:18

Apologies- not at all bargainous but this website came up on my Facebook page today and, being an adolescent of the 90s, want have of this ‘friends’ regalia- in particular the tote bag.
Might make a nice stocking filler for someone (am in no way affiliated with website!)

Thanks for the Oliver Bonas tip McAvennie just bought a few bits in the sale and not all of them are for me Grin

TalkingOrmer · 07/08/2019 06:46

@NeitherNowtNorSummat01 what’s the website? Thanks

NeitherNowtNorSummat01 · 07/08/2019 07:09

Yes, that would help

peasando · 07/08/2019 07:30

Thanks from me too for the Oliver Bonas tip - that's my sister and SIL's presents sorted (and I may accidentally have bought a couple of things for myself too!)

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 07:38

Yes, the Oliver Bonas tip was great. I've just bought the scarf for my mum.

magpie have got a few bits reduced in their summer sale. Excellent reductions but limited range of stuff.

funnyfeeling · 07/08/2019 07:49

Can anyone give me advice about a digital photo frame? The budget is £40-£50, is that possible? Would like it to automatically slide show the pictures but nothing more really.

In the meantime I'm going to have a look at Oliver Bonas just now, thanks for that link.

funnyfeeling · 07/08/2019 07:59

Actually, never mind. I was looking on Amazon where the reviews of the cheaper ones didn't look great but found one in Argos to put on the list.
Thank you very much for the Polly Pocket tip, dd will love one of those.

Isadora2007 · 07/08/2019 08:11

@McAvennie thank you for that link- those scarves were lovely so I got one for one of my besties and one for my older daughter then also found enough in the sale to make up the £50 free delivery so another 8 Xmas gifts ticked off ✅

Isadora2007 · 07/08/2019 08:20

Magpie site seems to be glitching. I can’t get it to give me a posting price. It keeps not recognising my address?

imsorryiasked · 07/08/2019 08:39

@Isadora2007 I just tried and it gives me "£4.95 mainland"
Are you highlands/islands/overseas?

Isadora2007 · 07/08/2019 08:41

Weirdly it just seems to be my postcode it doesn’t like. I’ve put in a different delivery address in Edinburgh for my aunt and will email them to see if they can deliver to me and if not I will collect for her next time I see her. Didn’t want to miss out on the bargain!!

Isadora2007 · 07/08/2019 10:03

Bloody weird- they’ve emailed to say they don’t deliver to my area. I’m in mainland Scotland, Fife. Wtf?

UrbanMage · 07/08/2019 11:00

Thanks for the Polly pocket link. Picked up two for my DD as stocking fillers bit might also get some for her cousins who are the same age.

It's late for me to get started, but hey ho.

Wilberforce2 · 07/08/2019 11:16

Unlikely I know but we have finally reached the year that my dd has asked for Sylvanian Families 😫 If anyone sees anything bargain like please let me know!

Youranus · 07/08/2019 11:35

Amazon currently have the Sylvanian toy shop on offer for £20, and the hot dog van for £16.66. Both way less expensive than other retailers are selling for. Also on Amazon is the brick oven bakery at £26.66, a great buy as it comes with lots of accessories and a Sylvanian hedgehog.

Youranus · 07/08/2019 11:43

John Lewis have the Sylvanian Grand Department Store gift set for the fabulous price of £49.99. Currently selling in Asda for £120. I bought this set a few weeks ago. It's massive and would make a very impressive Christmas gift. Comes with lots of extras that alone add up to current sale price. There are only 4 left in stock though!

PinkDaydreams · 07/08/2019 13:18

@NoWordForFluffy Boots in Clayton square still have plenty of the Christmas stockings in the sale Grin
Boots Clayton square also have some kids Sunsafe swimwear labeled as reduced to half price. Went through the till at full price though so make sure you pay the sale price.

PinkDaydreams · 07/08/2019 13:20

Just checked the boots website and the Sunsafe suits I picked up that went through the till at full price are actually half price on the website. Must be a store till error.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/08/2019 13:25

I went in the other day and they're lovely, @PinkDaydreams. But I was sensible as I don't need them!

I need a sunsafe thing for DD but she's too big for the ones I saw in there on sale, sadly.

Youranus I might be a grown woman but part of me wants that department store for myself

I put something in my Oliver Bonas basket and then closed the site. They emailed me immediately asking if I'd forgotten about my items, but alas no code.
