Afternoon!

In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips Flowers ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

Use this thread to post any bargains you may have until @Reastie comes back in a few months' time! Xmas Grin

There's some nice things in the sale at Emma Bridgewater. I know the mugs are always popular on here.

McAvennie · 10/07/2019 06:16

Another Elemis one from me:

Travel size rose cleansing balm + cloth for £5 + free delivery - code HIGHLIFE gives an additional 10% off

Givealittlebit · 11/07/2019 15:40

Big thank you for the Rex of London hint, finally got my bits as I was away when they were delivered and they are lovely!
Also the Elemis cleanser, looking forward to trying that!

Pia jewellery have some nice bits in the sale here

imsorryiasked · 12/07/2019 14:33

Also some lovely stuff on sale at culture vulture
I especially like these tweed bags down to £19.99 and this loud dressing gown

chocpop · 12/07/2019 20:16

My DD is 6 months so I've been having a nosey on sites like Boden and Joules at their clearance section. Some really nice things. I bought a few things in 12-18m that I can wrap up for her come Xmas day. She obviously won't be interested but it'll mean I have less clothes to buy next year when everything's more expensive again!

PinkDaydreams · 13/07/2019 08:44

Typical, the toy I was going to buy isn’t in the offer!

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 13/07/2019 16:04

I bought this today in a second hand shop

Erm wtf mumsnet.

Why have you automatically linked the word leggings in my previous post to your article
About the best leggings? I wouldn’t touch any of those or recommend :/

Reastie · 13/07/2019 18:32

Chips this seems to be a regular mn thing now which certain words that link to things on their site.

Reastie · 13/07/2019 18:33

Chocpop I’ve done the same thing stashing clothes for Ds. He will be 6 months at Christmas so have also got a variety of baby plates/bowls etc for him too from Father Christmas.

Ewock · 14/07/2019 09:33

I'm thinking about getting both my kids a camera for Christmas. They are 6 and 3 years old and love taking photos with my phone so thought a camera would be a good idea. Does anyone have any recommendations as there are so many to choose from? Thanks

Reastie · 14/07/2019 09:42

Ewock I got dd around 6 a regular digital camera. She loved having a proper adult camera and means it’ll last her. Doesn’t have to be an expensive one.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/07/2019 10:04

I got a highly discounted digital camera for DD a couple of months ago (she's 6). I think she'll enjoy it as she loves using our phones to take photos.

I got DS1 a Vtech Kiddizoom

www.amazon.co.uk/Vtech-507153-Kidizoom-Duo-5-0/dp/B07HD1JP17?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

it's really indestructable and has been passed down to DS2 now. It also has a few little games and things on it. they've had a lot of play value from it. certainly a good choice for your 3 year old.

thinking of getting DS1 a more fancy camera now as he's 8. People were buying cameras that came with printers on here a couple of years ago - can anyone remember what they were called and / or would recommend them?

Charlottejade89 · 14/07/2019 11:46

Place marking as I need to be much more organised this year with 3 step children and 1 year old dd to buy for as well as other family members!

sideorderofchips · 14/07/2019 13:10

@reastie it’s really annoying isn’t it!

NotPennysBoat · 14/07/2019 18:34

@Ewock I second Reastie's suggestion of just getting a normal digital camera. I picked one up second hand for £20 for my DD(3) and she's not been careful with it but it's been pretty resilient! It's also easy to use and small enough to pop in my handbag for boring moment (anyone want to see 258 photos of the dentist waiting room?). The vetch ones are so bulky and expensive for what they are IMHO.

Amazon Prime sale starts today - few good deals by the looks of it. Amazon devices down by 40-60% including Echo dot (22 instead of 50), firestick (20 instead of 40) and the new echo show 5 (50 instead of 80).
