How many people did you buy for this year?

I'm asking because I think I buy for a ridiculous number which contributes to massive stress for me before Christmas. I want to cut down but before I look at this I want to get a idea of how many people others buy for and what a reasonable number is.

I will be making a cull list later and may ask for help on how to do this as the number just creeps up every year. I love giving gifts so at the end of the year just promise myself I'll be more organised next year but no matter how organised I am it's a military operation and I am sick of it!

So, how many people do you have on your gift list?

14 family members
3 dogs
4 friends and another friend I take out for dinner .

SpeckledyHen · 30/12/2018 15:12

2 young adult sons
DH
4 nieces ( until they finish full time education )

5 work colleagues because they insist on giving presents ( I have never worked anywhere before where this happens ) grrrrrrrrrrr .

AdoraBell · 30/12/2018 20:23

2 DDs
Stepson and his DP
DH

DH then buys for his parents and siblings. He usually just buys chocolates or something like car polish so it’s never a lot of money.

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 30/12/2018 20:33

Three. My two daughters and my OH. Four, if you include all the Black Friday bargains I got for myself...

A gift for my brother and his family, they are now a 5 adult family so often it is alcohol.

My dad, although if he is at my brother's I might include him in the family gift.

Local women's refuge - I buy from Superdrug and have it delivered. I spend about £20 and try to get a lot of small things, sometimes superdrug has 3 for 2 offers.

I send to the local refuge because a few years ago, on here, there was a thread about, 'what's the best present ever' and someone replied 'a dove soap and shampoo set', she then went on to explain she had been in a refuge and had to run with just her kids and what they were wearing.

I know there are more practical gifts, but sometimes I think we all like to have something that is not an essential.
