Wheelie imho he is a nincompoop , a narc and a sexist, rude, racist and horrible person. He is a grown toddler and a Baffoon. I cannot bear him. I don't know how people who are ill in the US are managing without health care it is like the very great USA is being dragged down by this bore. I feel so bad for you and my friends, they are really devastated by his actions. The detaining of the 2,000 children without their parents was frankly barbaric, really third world dictatorship madness. I don't know how he can live with himself but l think he has no conscience tbh. IMHO He is an egotistical Maniac, some would say Psycho.

Crazy your house sounds darling , l love old stone houses , we live in a horrible modern house that needs modernising lol It was built in 1989 and already had a new boiler, new kitchen, new upvc windows, new doors and a new bathroom . One leaky en suite ,you couldn't swing a cat in, gotten rid of and the space encoperated into the bedrooms and it is horrible at least l think so lol but it has smashing views and a lovely neighbourhood and it suits us , quiet , plenty of car parking and no trouble with anyone here ! Thank you God

Mrs I 100% agree with you!! Everything you said about him is spot on! It makes life so much more difficult. I guess the good thing about me going to tube feeding? If we need to save food for the girls I can just live off my tube feeds. :/

I adore that last photo! For some reason night snow photos are some of my favorite! Hopefully when our temps drop some snow will sneak in lol. I'm still listening to the rain on the metal roof.

We lit our shabbat candles though (even though we only had two candles left lol)! The sabbath has started now and will last through tomorrow at sundown.

Mrsmadevans · 04/01/2019 23:28

We had terrible snow here Crazy as you can see couldn't get up to the parents for 3 days their street was totally snow bound. I have filled the freezer and the cupboards with ready meals for them just in case they have to fend for themselves till we can get there , God knows how they will do that! Hopefully it isn't going to happen this year. Fingers crossed l wouldn't mind snow and a lot of it too but they need our help so .....
I have even bought them a spare kettle in case theirs fails and they try to boil water on the hob , l can just imagine the damage they would inflict on their body from the scalding Shock

Ahhh sweetie it won't get so bad as that will it ? Mind we don't know wth is happening here with Brexit. It is all up in the air , they are buying space for lorries on the ferries to bring emergency supplies over for us if it all goes down the pan Hmm
You candles sound lovely , the rain on the roof must be so relaxing .
DH wants to go to bed it is half 11 at night here , will catch up tomoz with you Wheelie , have a good sleep m'dear Smile
Everyone hope you have a good night sleep tonight Smile

Sleep tight Mrs And everyone else!!

I hope it doesn't get that bad but I think I'm going to prepare for the worst just in case. I have very very poor neighbors I worry about.

If any of you end up not able to sleep I'll be here off and on for a while :) I'm working on a punch needle embroidery I started earlier this year.

CathyBigBalls · 05/01/2019 00:57

Just got in!. Absolutely knackered now, the girls are fast asleep in bed and now we’re going up. I’ll hopefully be more active tomorrow. Goodnight all!

WheelchairWoes · 05/01/2019 02:59

Goodnight Cathy! Sleep tight!!!

I tried to eat some crisps tonight. We'll see how well that goes over with my belly hahaha

It's 10 pm and husband is home and the cat beasts have been fed!

Mrsmadevans · 05/01/2019 08:46

Morning everyone! Xmas Grin
By my reckoning Wheelie you must be 5 hours behind our time here which isn't too bad to get our heads around lol. Hope the crisps were ok sweetie and you are in the land of NOD!
You came home late Cathy hope you managed a good rest after the journey !
Shaky is under the weather again l think we will have to take him to the vets this morning . I have to go to the parents first though and take Mum to knit and nat , not enough time in the day !
Have a good Saturday everyone! Xmas Grin

Morning!

We didn't wake until 7.40 this morning, it was lovely as I got just over 8 hours' sleep! 😱 I don't get that often.

DS was really upset at bedtime and wouldn't tell me why, so was in with us. He'd better not yet used to that location again as it took ages to get him out of our bed a year ago! He is quite still now though, so no bother to share with.

I think that era of housing is some of the worst, Mrs. Lots of corners cut and before better insulation regulations of the early 2000s were implemented.

I'm not sure what we're up to today; taking it easy, I think, as the kids go back on Monday so need to be rested before then!

CrazyBaubles · 05/01/2019 12:23

Wheels Is there any chance of the food stamps continuing after January? Why would they suddenly cut off something so important?

I think politics has gone mad in both your country and ours tbh. Although I don't agree with a lot of what's happening here, I understand how it's come about but quite how Trump became potus is beyond me!

I have attached some pics of the snow for you!

MrsMad Thank you for the encouragement - I will plod on with the blanket and post a pic of it completed (soon I hope)!
The snow was mad wasn't it? We were ok as we're relatively fit and healthy but we have an elderly couple a few houses down and next door are both disabled and have very few family and friends. If DH hasn't walked to the shop for them and we hadn't checked on them I don't know what would have happened. Next doors cooker broke so we were feeding them until the new one could be delivered.

My house is freezing today. I got up before the heating came on to sort the dogs out.

I loved my house when I saw it MrsMad, the features are lovely (we have big rooms, and original fireplaces in both bedrooms) but as time has gone on the impractical aspects of it have started to annoy me (for example, it's old but has been extended so you have to walk through the smaller living room to get to the dining room and through that to get to the kitchen. And as we're on a mountain the back garden is steep and unusable for anything except herbs here and there).

Fluffy What a lovely sleep you've had! I wonder what upset your DS? I hope he's ok now.

All this talk of snow has made me feel festive so I'm having a Christmas cuppa with some Christmas biscuits (pic attached - and the background is my giant blanket).
Slightly less festive - I'm being brave and watching Luther Xmas Grin

I've been food shopping today. Boring! Ds is shouting that he's got a bum (the end of the smoked cheese Grin).

CishAndFips · 05/01/2019 12:47

Can I jump on here? Lovely general chit-chat with a sprinkle of Christmas spirit is just what I need.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2019 12:48

My two are obsessed with bums and poo, Wreck. It's tedious, but they find it utterly hilarious. Xmas Confused

We've not had hideous snow here since 2008 really. We did have some last year, but nothing to rival then. But if we get snow, you know it's hideous elsewhere as our location generally precludes getting it (and is also why we don't suffer heavy frosts too much as well).

Crazy, it may have been the chicken pie factory escape in Chicken Run. Epic parenting fail much?! 🙈😂

It's warmed up a bit here today (as in it's above freezing) so we're sticking with the times heating rather than on all day. We have it on for about 8.5 hours out of 11.5 which tends to keep it a reasonable temp. I might experiment with on for the full 11.5 hours next year to compare usage! It'll be a like-for-like comparison as we have the new boiler now, so we can't compare to last winter this time.

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/01/2019 12:54

Wheelie isn't your 2nd amendment so you can overthrow a crazy President? Someone really should. It's like 1930's Germany. They want you all to starve to death.

Mrs we seem to have a lot of Sainsbury's mince pies, I reckon the teachers bought them in their lunch breaks for the hamper, the M&S ones are very nice.

CathyBigBalls · 05/01/2019 13:02

Afternoon all, will try and catch up with just today’s stuff. We’re doing a little bit of baking today, then I think we’re going to store some in the fridge over night and then have a winters picnic tomorrow for DH’s last day before work!. Will send pics of our creations in a bit.

Fluffy I’m glad you had a good sleep!. 8 hours would be amazing!.

Wreck I’ll be off to do my shopping tomorrow, we aren’t super close to a big shopping centre so I really have to stock up!.

Crazy Our house gets really cold too. It’s a terraced cottage that was built in the 1800s, we have a log fire so that warms it up but there’s a lot of drafts. It’s really small too, the front door goes straight into the living room so we get a draft from that, the stairs are also in our living room which can get quite drafty too and then we have a stable door by the kitchen which is also drafty!. I still love our house though, we don’t have the money to be able to move, we bought it when we were really young so it was cheap and we’ve paid our mortgage off now, but I don’t know if I could bring myself to move!.

Cish Welcome!

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/01/2019 13:24

Just had gammon hock in cider sauce with mustard mash. 😋

WreckTangled · 05/01/2019 13:26

My nearest big supermarket is forty minutes away it's such a drag as takes all morning just to do the shopping!

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/01/2019 13:31

That would annoy me Wreck. I love being able to pop in after dropping the kids off. I wish we had an Asda within walking distance though. Sainsbury's is so expensive!

WreckTangled · 05/01/2019 13:32

Our nearest Asda is over an hour away we rarely go so when I do I spend loads!
